cool i have the dvd special tv show seris movies plus new camtain america ,ovie 2011 for my cool Christmas thats Cool Jesus Birthday Christmas fun:) plus season one season 2 the oringal binck woman televsion seris and soon i plan on buying all eposeds of cool telvesion seris of the six milllion dollar man telvesion seris on dvd
This clip is actually SUPER rare. Universal Studios has removed this intro from all existing prints of the film. I remember this intro clearly as being at the beginning of Captain America II but it was removed permanently sometime in '88.
I remember watching this show in the summer around 1981, I also remember the first live Spider Man show in the 70's, these came after the popular Hulk series.
I have no idea how this one slipped by me. I used to watch every episode of the Amazing Spider Man, the Incredible Hulk of course but I'm ashamed to say I have no recollection of this whatsoever. And Christopher Lee was in this!? Time to start googling.
@Gossage54 as cheesy or removed from the original concept as the TV shows seemed to be, I find them pretty good, at least on a cult status basis. Not as painful to watch as I thought.
I remember this show. Reb Brown... Back then there were like two muscular dudes (this was before Swartzenaggar). Reb was one, and I don't recall the name of the other, but he had a moustache... I do recall liking Spiderman more... wow, I even remember that guys name, Nicholas Hammond...
"i like how they COMPLETELY ignored the comics story. haha"
As cheesy as this is, you have to admit they didn't completely ignore the comic story as this the son of Steve Rogers supposedly. I never saw this show but it makes more sense now that I know it is not supposed to be the real Cap :-)
No Offense to those of you Playa Hatin on This version of Captain America, but this came out during my grade school years, and seeing Captain America like this was AWESOME during that time. I LOVE THE BIKE, THE UPDATED SUIT & The Transparent Shield. Those of us who were born in the late 60's & early 70's TREASURED seeing this. :)
What I really want to know is, whatever happened to the motorcycle or motorcycles that was/were used in these two movies? Despite the cheesiness of these two films, ya gotta admit that the motorcycle was THE ABSOLUTE COOLEST part about 'em! Does anybody KNOW who made or whatever happened to this bike after the movies wrapped? The reason why is, I'd kinda like to maybe own it someday (When & if I ever get the money)? I mean, WHO WOULDN'T want a turbo bike w/ a hanglider that comes out, huh?
"...he's eating the human equivalent of seventy-three pounds of cheese. He's urinating the human equivalent of nine gallons. He's scrunching his nose at the human equivalent of eleven scrunches per-second." We get it already! Super rat!
I loved this as a kid, hated it as an adult. But I always remembered this recap and was ticked it wasn't on the VHS tape, Thanks for posting this. :-) The theme is great, very catchy work by Mike Post.
It really wasnt a series. This was one of two unsold pilots that Universal Studios produced in 1979. Both aired but neither was able to make it into a series. Mike Post and Pete Carpenter composed the music. They composed music for shows like A-Team, Rockford Files, and Magnum, P.I. However this was produced by the same people who produced the 6 Million Dollar man and Bionic Woman.
Reb Brown: Jesus Christ. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 Your Bible)
I wish the audio was louder. This is one of my favorite TV Themes from the 70's. A great opening for "Captain America II." This must be the international release as it is a different opening from the MCA/Universal North American VHS release. This one is much better!
I think if they ever make a CAPTAIN AMERICA "movie", thet should make him start at WW2 then all of a sudan gets frozen for 62 year to come to are millenium.
I dissagree. Cap Should be portrayed in his original environment to understand who he was at the beginning, who were his original enemies, catching the feel of the old cliffhangers with today´s state-of-the-art fx off course.
at least in a first movie. Then on the sequels he could be in our time.
Cap´s Origin here resembles the Second Shield´s one.
Check Lancelot Strong MLJ Archie Comics. And Flag sounds like the Fighting American´s Last Name. Even Cap´s Costume in The First Movie Looks a Lot Like Fighting American´s.
I loved it as a kid! Despite the flaws the Cheese and the low budget Reb Brown Made a Good Captain America. F.L.A.G. Serum, Cap´s Son, the Original Murdered. Interesting theory though. A good alternative for a script they could´ve taken a little more advantage from.
