  • This clip is actually SUPER rare. Universal Studios has removed this intro from all existing prints of the film. I remember this intro clearly as being at the beginning of Captain America II but it was removed permanently sometime in '88.

  • Crud Bonemeal is Huge McRunfast as...THE FIRST FIRST AVENGER!!! Was Chris Evans even alive when Butch Deadlift was doing this?

  • it'd be awesome if they just released this in theaters instead of the big budget remake this week.

  • wow, that looks awful

  • @Fettster777 - Ive seen it..... and IT WAS AWFUL...

  • Oh it looks good!

  • Thats cool! I like captain america

  • Christopher Lee could be a good Red Skrull .

  • Bill Clinton is... Captain America!

  • Soo cheesy!

  • I wish Reb Brown was in the New Captain America

  • I remember watching this show in the summer around 1981, I also remember the first live Spider Man show in the 70's, these came after the popular Hulk series.

  • Man, I remember this when I was a kid. I really loved the theme song.

  • Wait...he needs a suit to keep him safe on a bike but yet his skin is almost unbreakable?

    LOL

  • wtf is this shit?

  • @Hunkyfish20

Answer: "The Greatest Shit on World"

  • I have no idea how this one slipped by me. I used to watch every episode of the Amazing Spider Man, the Incredible Hulk of course but I'm ashamed to say I have no recollection of this whatsoever. And Christopher Lee was in this!? Time to start googling.

  • @Gossage54 as cheesy or removed from the original concept as the TV shows seemed to be, I find them pretty good, at least on a cult status basis. Not as painful to watch as I thought.

  • What is Reb short for? Rebel?? Shazam or Spider Man would eat him for lunch.

  • Reb Brown is the best CAPTAIN AMERICA

  • @chivemonkey1

    But I AM THE PUMAMAN

  • The theme music was the best part of the show...

  • I was with him tonight at the 3d awards in hollywood this show ruled.

  • Not many people remember this. I used to love these shows. They look super Cheezy Now. But Still that Bike Was Cold. lol

  • I remember this show. Reb Brown... Back then there were like two muscular dudes (this was before Swartzenaggar). Reb was one, and I don't recall the name of the other, but he had a moustache... I do recall liking Spiderman more... wow, I even remember that guys name, Nicholas Hammond...

  • Blast Hardcheese is Captain America

  • John Steeljaw

  • Connie Selleca looks amazing. Just WOW. John Tesh is one lucky guy.

  • Cheezy, campy, and I freakin' love it!!!

  • People may laugh, but there was something genuinely fun about those 70's comic tv films and shows.

Something missing from today's big budget Hollywood movies that are just too damned serious.

  • Flint Ironstag

  • this Captain is like a Barbie's gay Ken

  • i love his powers in this flim. its clear on what he can do super strenght vision hearing and speed reflix makes way more

  • So Captain America wore a motorcycle helmet??

  • i like how they COMPLETELY ignored the comics story. haha. man id forgotten how hot Connie Sellica was.

  • @TikkiEXX

"i like how they COMPLETELY ignored the comics story. haha"

As cheesy as this is, you have to admit they didn't completely ignore the comic story as this the son of Steve Rogers supposedly. I never saw this show but it makes more sense now that I know it is not supposed to be the real Cap :-)

  • Slab Bulkhead.

  • this captain amercia is stupid i rather watch the captain amercia of 1990 its better then this one sorry but they raped it in 1979

  • No Offense to those of you Playa Hatin on This version of Captain America, but this came out during my grade school years, and seeing Captain America like this was AWESOME during that time. I LOVE THE BIKE, THE UPDATED SUIT & The Transparent Shield. Those of us who were born in the late 60's & early 70's TREASURED seeing this. :)

  • the 1970s and 80s sure loved filming Cars flying off cliffs

  • I've heard of the movie that had Reb Brown but not this show

  • What I really want to know is, whatever happened to the motorcycle or motorcycles that was/were used in these two movies? Despite the cheesiness of these two films, ya gotta admit that the motorcycle was THE ABSOLUTE COOLEST part about 'em! Does anybody KNOW who made or whatever happened to this bike after the movies wrapped? The reason why is, I'd kinda like to maybe own it someday (When & if I ever get the money)? I mean, WHO WOULDN'T want a turbo bike w/ a hanglider that comes out, huh?

  • do a search for" The M's - Trucker Speed " . It's a cool music video with a scene from this show.

  • Wow, this series does a fine job at ruining Captain America's integrity before he even got the damn serum. Shit writing + Reb Brown = Unholy Alliance

  • I remember this. I always thought Brown was cute. :)

  • I remember this slightly, but I definitely remember I had that CA motorcycle toy. *lol*

  • Connie Selleca is with The Greatest American Hero.

  • 1:17

"When was I supposed to meet her for dinner? Ummm....."

  • Big McLargehuge is... CAPTAIN AMERICA

  • And Christopher Lee as... the SUPPORTING role?? O_o

  • Buff Beef Broth is Chest Splithairs as...

    CAPTAIN AMERICA

  • bwaahaaaaahhahaahhaaaa

  • @86thPatriot hahahahahahahaha

  • @86thPatriot

Forget Captain America. I am the Pumaman

  • @86thPatriot

    I am still the Pumaman

  • "...he's eating the human equivalent of seventy-three pounds of cheese. He's urinating the human equivalent of nine gallons. He's scrunching his nose at the human equivalent of eleven scrunches per-second." We get it already! Super rat!

  • I wonder what happened to Red Brown

  • Awesome movies happened to Reb Brown.

  • This is the second pilot. The first one had Heather Menzies instead of Connie Selleca.

  • a typical 70's tongue in cheek "superhero" movie/series like they did with Nick Hammonds Spiderman

  • So, they ridiculed his father.

What do they think is gonna happen when they see him in that disguise?

  • @mastmedia man it was the 70's. they wouldve probably though they were halucinating.

  • Cheesy!!

  • REB BROWN WAS ONE OF THE WORST ACTOR OF THE

80s HE & MANY OF HIS MOVIES WHERE PIECE OF

    SHIT!!!

  • sweet van

  • I remember the old movie. but I don't remember this!

  • Hmm i dont remember this show. Maybe its George Bush as Red Skull?

  • Gtv??? Wtf!!! I thought it would b PGtv!!!

  • I loved this as a kid, hated it as an adult. But I always remembered this recap and was ticked it wasn't on the VHS tape, Thanks for posting this. :-) The theme is great, very catchy work by Mike Post.

  • zzzzzzzzz

  • if they were to make a new "Captain America" movie, it's only fitting that Randy Couture should play the lead role.

  • wait is that old man, in the introduction the same man who played Court Duku in Star Wars

  • yup

  • Yes, his name is Christopher Lee. He was also Saruman in LOTR.

  • this made my iq drop

  • "How about a disguise...They ridiculed your father you know..." (Opens box of red, white, blue spandex and oversized bike helmet)

  • you win this thread

  • Blaghhh. Gross... A bike??? LOLOLOL

  • If this show was on TV now, I would watch it every week. This is SO better than Smallville or Heroes.

  • i loved the tv show but why did they cancel it

  • It really wasnt a series. This was one of two unsold pilots that Universal Studios produced in 1979. Both aired but neither was able to make it into a series. Mike Post and Pete Carpenter composed the music. They composed music for shows like A-Team, Rockford Files, and Magnum, P.I. However this was produced by the same people who produced the 6 Million Dollar man and Bionic Woman.

  • So that's why Len Birman talks to Reb like he's Oscar Goldman.

Incidentally, given the resemblance, this clip should be entitled "Bill Clinton is Captain America"

  • Reb Brown: Jesus Christ. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 Your Bible)

  • Wait, so Reb Brown was in more than one thing with Christopher Lee?! (The Howling 2)

  • Rob Brown is Roll Fizzlebeef as Captain America

  • Big McLargehuge!

  • AWESOME MST3K reference!

  • ahahahaha lovin the bike

  • That's the "Captain America" of the 1979, right? It's so...so...Miami Vice...

  • ok so he takes injections to get his strength hmmmmm ok so he is a superhero on steroids or should i say he needs steroids to be a superhero lol

  • that was the whole point of captain america, the injection was the super soldier serum, its wat makes him so strong

  • Connie Sellecca is hot!

  • but there are only three actors in this crappy movie?

  • can the whole movie be posted

  • Reb Brown, Believe in Jesus Christ and be saved

  • I wish the audio was louder. This is one of my favorite TV Themes from the 70's. A great opening for "Captain America II." This must be the international release as it is a different opening from the MCA/Universal North American VHS release. This one is much better!

  • was it a rule in evry bad actors contract durin da 70's to have a FUKIN MOTORCROSS BIKE?

  • Why do all super heros instantly get motorcycles when the make crappy tv shows?

  • Connie Sellecca? She was in Greatest American Hero!

  • This was Universal Studios First attempt at a 1979 Pilot, Mike Post and Pete Carpenter did the music.

  • (*I read Shouldn´t instead of should*)???

  • sorry GG621, I Completely agree. I read Shouldn´t instead of should. My apologies.

  • I think if they ever make a CAPTAIN AMERICA "movie", thet should make him start at WW2 then all of a sudan gets frozen for 62 year to come to are millenium.

  • I dissagree. Cap Should be portrayed in his original environment to understand who he was at the beginning, who were his original enemies, catching the feel of the old cliffhangers with today´s state-of-the-art fx off course.

at least in a first movie. Then on the sequels he could be in our time.

  • Blaster: Bouncin betty come up and blows their BALLS off

  • hate the helmet

  • That's the 70's for you. Dude was NOT wearing his seat belt! If he had of worn it, we wouldn't have to suffer through this version of the character.

  • Cap´s Origin here resembles the Second Shield´s one.

Check Lancelot Strong MLJ Archie Comics. And Flag sounds like the Fighting American´s Last Name. Even Cap´s Costume in The First Movie Looks a Lot Like Fighting American´s.

  • I loved it as a kid! Despite the flaws the Cheese and the low budget Reb Brown Made a Good Captain America. F.L.A.G. Serum, Cap´s Son, the Original Murdered. Interesting theory though. A good alternative for a script they could´ve taken a little more advantage from.
