The SDR is way faster on the pavement, but a 400 lb handful in the dirt. It requires a lot more finesse everywhere. You just can't whisky-throttle 130 hp on Pikes Peak. You have to get through the dirt corners and use that big motor to connect them more quickly. The bike was new to me and quite frankly I needed more seat time. During practice I was dropping 8 to 12 seconds every run so I was still learning the bike's capabilities.
