Because, like the other new 8,000 Omaha residents that suddenly decided they wanted to become Creighton "fans" after the move from the Civic, I go for the social setting. The difference here is that I admit this whereas CU "fans" will deny the impact of alcohol on their attendance as their heads are buried in the cell phones during the game and congregate at the endzones of the Qwest for the second half to watch the game on the monitors.

@JaysHuskers they do have one hell of a facility; too bad it doesn't do anything for them in terms of recruiting or results as indicated by their performances in the Valley since moving out of the Civic. You also realize that you've opened the door to future excuses by me for Nebraska's mediocrity now that we're getting a new stadium don't you?

@azpeacemaker7 it did do well for recruiting we got the highest recruits creighton has ever got besides benoit benjamin in the 80's, dana wasn't used to talent and we didn't get the results, meanwhile you guys did a good job of taking iowa fellas that could play ball now you guys are a great team. Creighton used to do that back in 90's and early 00's. I don't know what the hell you mean in your last sentence. UNI's new facility if they get one, probably will not be as good as the Q.

Or if that time line is too long, then let's discuss the last 4 seasons in which Creighton has failed to beat a rated team in all of them AND in two of them, Nebraska was their "marquee" win. Is that what you want to hang your hat on?? Or how about the fact Creighton has the best record all time for a team not to make the NCAA tourney?? Says a lot for the Valley.

Don't need to look it up; I already heard Matt Perrault bitching about it on his show for about an hour which is probably the only reason you know about this. I was at the game and the officiating was bad that night; but on both sides.

The refs blew that game. Creighton should have won. The only reason the Panthers won is because the head ref was Northern Iowa's former athletic director. Don't believe me? Look it up.

Valley Refs are terrible. Creighton played bad this game. I can't beleive they called a Technical on P' when it was both of the teams. There's a lot more true Creighton fans out there then you think. And as the perch would say "Valley refs, Valley refs, Valley refs"

I agree that the Valley refs are poor. Despite this, there seems to be a lot of whining on the part of the CU community, including Travis Justice and Matt Perrault, against teams that play aggressive defense and don't just sit back and let CU run their offense. In summation, yes Valley refs blow, but instead of Creighton bitching about other teams being "hackers" maybe they should toughen up; they are soooooooo soft!!!

this game was absolutely pure bullshit. no matter how you look at it, the valley refs are horrid. watch the wichita state game and notice how many fouls should've been called. bluejays should've won this one by at least 10 if the refs would've called something.
