So christians can get away with destroying religions, and it's horrible when people get revenge after over 2000 years of shit? They forced people to join the religion or die. This is what they get for messing with the vikings, and all the others slaughtered for not agreeing.
I really feel sorry for all those loosers that desperately try to act "cool", by saying stupid things as BUUUURN, BURN ALL CHURCHES INN THE ENTIRE WORLD, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL and thing like that.. Seriously, grow up and try to get a real life!
I don't think it will be rebuilt. The town will be better off without it. No to government money to rebuild. We have to pay 55 million dollars for Project truth enquieries in Cornwall. There is no more money! Why to we have a public funded catholic school board???????
This argument asks a question which only ends up involved with circular logic. If God created the Universe, which must have been created, then who or what created God, and so on. Come on you stupid people...
just look up at the stars on a clear night... God made all that...!! LOL you make me laugh.. Trust me there is something bigger than your God out there...
The only problem I've ever had with church burning is the destruction of such beautiful architecture. After seeing this video I no longer have qualms about that. The destruction is well worth the message and the sight, the white light beaming through the windows, the billowing smoke clouds, the flames licking the night sky. This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, if someone intentionally set this thing on fire, all the power in the world to them.

There's a lot of evil in these comments, I'm not exactly sure what the church members and their deeds did to these critics, but I think the comments are pure evil, I mean come on, burn the all?, some of these churches really help people in need, just because they can't help you working critics dont mean just burn them all. Go stand at a corner & give groceries to a poor family instead. Or help an elderly lady cross the street instead. Or better yet, read the bible.
Me Too! Seperate Church and State now! Get catholisims out of education social services and healthcare. Tell you MP and MPP how you feel about your tax dollars going to feed this outfit. I hope they don't rebuild. Who did this or do they know??
I haven;t heard of who did this, it makes me sick that they use people's tax money to rebuild this, when its probably going to be burn again, like other Churches.
These buggers got tax money to rebuild! Jesus Plucken Christ! Well I will be talken to my MP about this. There are people laid off from their jobs who need help feeding their family and don't get jack shit. What a waste of money. Have a great weekend :0)
I haven't yet found photos of the original church nor have I found the church's web site, but several newspapers report that the authorities are quickly closing in; there's no doubt that they will soon arrest the arsonist. He should be locked away for 140 years, the age of the building he destroyed.
Thanks, I was hoping to find out so i could read about the church and its history on the Internet. I'm really sorry for the loss of this historic structure. It looks like it was a gem.
On a lighter note, I like your channel. Someone did a great job on falling the tree (except ya gotta wear eye gear!) and I like the Canada Day crane cam video. (A guy thing) Cheers from California!
I lived in Aylmer for many years and my heart is broken to see this wanton destruction. But what punishment do you give to someone who destroys 120 years of history?
Assmmonkey---your 'joke' is so inappropriate, my friend, as this isn't anything to laugh about!
Shame on you! Really!
This beautiful church was a historical landmark! It was more than brick and mortar to many of it's parish! Generations of families enjoyed it's comfort and worship!
This is indeed horrific to watch...especially knowing what it meant to a dear friend of mine who grew up and raised her children in this community!
Thank you for your support - it is so appreciated! I went to see the remains of the church today... all four walls are still standing and the mortar and stones outside look in pretty giid shape so perhaps they can be salvaged and there is hope to rebuild. . . I wonder where they got the money to build such a huge structure???? Why so big?? To frighten people into submission? Ohh I know lol... Glad no one was hurt. Religion is fading away as people become more educated. Just my opinion....
Like I said to my friend, it sucks for the people that had ties to the church.
But as far as I, myself, am concerned, I'm happy whenever a church goes down. For the amount of good religion does in this world, it does a lot more bad.
Any of you religious freaks who want to argue that go ahead, but just look at your world with open eyes first.
Now, I'm not religious, but I do come from a community of them, actually, from this community, and while I don't support Christianity's oppression of other religions, the main purpose of religion in a modern perspective is the ideas put forth within the book. For instance, Good will and Helping your neighbor, just things that people take for granted. Mindless devotion is dangerous, fanatics are a problem, but some just need spiritual guidance. Who are we to judge how someone feels good?
This church is over 100 years old to when Quebec had strong ties to the Catholic Church, if you cross Quebec there are several of these churches. It isnt to scare people into submission, its to show the French Canadian devotion to god, which only really changed relatively recently. Religion isnt entirely fading away; its just being pushed back as we become more involved in consuming than anything else.
Before I argue with you further, let's keep this mature. We are on youtube and we do have the expectations to call eachother fags at any chance, but we could potentially be adults here.
The difference between burning down a house and studying a religion is that one is a direct attack on another's property and is promotion of things like, oh, Anarchy?
Great way to be mature and adult about a debate or discussion... The person who posted the video asked you not to do any name calling or swearing and you go right ahead and be disrespectful and swear right back as a reply... love the maturity... you know your name probably suits you quite well from what you have shown us. We all have our own opinions and have the right to speak them but there is no reason to be childish about it.
In fact I watched the whole fire first hand with the person who posted the video and I think that its a shame to see ANY building/ landmark go up in flames like that regardless of what it was, there is no reason to be so condescending when sharing your opinion!
While the other can be potentially as destructive and proved to be so (The Crusades, for example), but used in its original intention is a force that supports society, and supports goodness of character.
Lastly, I used Quebec devotion in the past tense, if youve taken any history classes in even French high schools, youd know it. And to support my arguments, look into Keiji Nishitani on the purpose of religion, oh, and our flag represents two things, France, and the Virgin Mary
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I won't go into too many details, the main reason being that youtube is a poor place to argue, what with a character limit.
If you know anything about religion and Canada, (this includes quebec), you wouldn't be using your high school history classes as reference. Do your own research.
My second point talked about how it isn't consumerism that drives away religion, but simply education. People don't believe in a 2000 year old book anymore, and this isn't just about the Catholic church.
I was just about to mention the character limit actually.
Also, my highschool education was only referencing how basic the knowledge is, trust me, I've had to write many essays on this topic.
Lastly, I agree that consumerism isn't the only thing that drives away religion, but it is a major factor. As people become more involved in pushing themselves forward and competition of business, they lose time for studying it. But anyways, I say we drop this before we spam Candor's inbox anymore.

Let's address a few thins here, because when you reply to me, and talk out of your ass, you can assume I'll rip you a new one.
First: Who are we to judge how someone feels good?
Good question. What if I feel good because houses burn down? Who are you to downvote me and judge me?
What? Oh I see, you have an arbitrary line where my behavior is counter to your morals, and so you condemn it. Congratulations.
Second: Quebec has strong ties to the Catholic church? Are you out of your mind?
