Anti depressants messed me up. They're just as dangerous as any street drugs. Yet psychiatrists and MD's push them on people like candy. It's just so fucked up.
YOUR "GOD" THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES MAKE YOUR FAVORITE PILL CANDY ! ! !
YOU STUPID FUCKER WANTING TO BE ON THESE PILLS ARE GOING TO BECOME SLAVES TO THE CORPORATE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES ! !
THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU FUCKERS, ALL YOU JACKASSES WANT TO BE ON PILLS AND NOW YOU CAN'T GET OFF OF THOSE PILLS AND IF YOU TRY YOUR GOING TO SUFFER BIG TIME FOR IT ! ! !
First switch to a SSRI like zoloft and then after a while on that, lower the dose, then after a while stop altogether.
Take it from me, it is IMPOSSIBLE to quit Effexor once you've been on a high dose by just stopping it. Your brain goes haywire and the nausea is worse than anything imaginable.
So use the switching method. Just go to the local doc, don't tell them you're on Effexor (to cover their arse they always say to just keep taking it), and just ask for a SSRI script.
The body doesn't need harsh synthetic "medications". It needs infusions of vitamins and minerals, and not to be flooded with toxins. The greatest medical invention of the 20th century is the JUICER. As you put less poisonous food into your body (processed and genetically modified food, refined carbohydrates, high-fructose corn syrup, pesticide-ridden, and, yes, cooked foods), and more raw foods and vegetable juices, especially dark leafy greens, you'll be amazed at your uncovered potential.
how do any of us get off of it without feeling sick? i went from 37.5 every other day for a week and then nothing. I could only go two days (which were the worst 2 days of my life) and then i had to take one. how the hell do any of us get off of this? so upsetting and so frustating. i feel for you because i'm going through the same stuff
Maybe if cannabis was legal you wouldn't have to go through the hell of winging off of this Effexor GARBAGE.
My mom has been taking Effexor for 5 years & she experiences severe panic attacks when she doesn't have any. I honestly think cannabis could replace this pharmaceutical trash.
I was 150mg of effexor and quit cold turkey. I looked at it "mind over matter" I asked myself who's the boss me or the drug and I made the right choice "ME" if women in Afganisthan can stand the bitting of the men, quiting cold turkey is not hard compared what the women in Afganisthan endured.
i was on 150 mg of effexor, and had to be admitted to the psychward to get off of this stuff. they tapered me over 10 days! very fast for this drug...i had SEVERE withdrawal effects for about a week and half been off it completely for about 3 weeks now. Still get some tremor and head spills or brain zaps, but not to bad.
IN short? my advice is if comming off the drug is much to difficult on your own, you may need to be hospitalized to do it.
i just got this today i was on paxil for 9 yrs i stopped in jan.09 last week i really had a break down but i just wanna know more about this is it better than paxil let me know thanx
before even thinking of taking this stuff jus know i was on it and im still in the process of comin off i havnt took any for 2 weeks jus know im still going through hell the withdrawl from this drug will take you remove your will to live destrpy any happiness you have and leave you in the worst state u could possibly imagine dont do it U WILL regret it
I am just at the end of my withdrawl from effexor. i was on 150mg after being diagnosed with post natal depression. This drug saved me from a complete break down. Getting off has been a slow process over the last 6 months and now today is the first day drug free. Yes i have a headache, sweats and edginess but I know it will pass as it has each time i dropped my dose. I just hope that I can move on now and be drug free. FYI I'm in Australia and effexor costs me about $30 a month here.
i have been on effexor for years i started at 150 a day and the kept forgetting my meds and when i did take them then id feel sick to my stomach for a few hours at least. or if i took it at night id feel like shit when i woke up.. I take a 75 every 3 days or 4 days cause i feel i have to i wonder what will happen if i just stop taking them all together? LETS TRY IT ILL LET YOU KOW.. im also on oxycontin and really addicted to that i have a big problem man..
hi! I have started taking Efexor about three months ago, due to a moderate depression. I am feeling quite happy now, and have the inspiration to be productive and creative. But I have a problem, when I am slleping, I have the most weird dreams of my entire life, and I'm having big problems functioning in relation to my job, as I dont hear the alarmclock, and can sleep unstoppable for 15 hours without problems. I wonder if somebody else is experiencing / has experienced these sideeffects?
The diziness afterwards sucks but if I eat that makes me feel better. I haven't gone to a doctor since I was first given the medicine but I feel like I don't really need to go to one. I stopped taking the 75 mgs about 2 days ago. I feel alright. Maybe because I'm doing yoga. Yoga is great therapy... you should try it. It'll help you stay stable and keep a good outlook on life. Good luck with your recovery and thanks for posting these videos.
I quit cold turkey and it is the worst decision I ever made. I stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago and am still getting the nausea and "brain zaps". I have visited the ER aswell since I stopped. If I knew then what I know now I would have never started. Hope you are feeling better.
well.. I wasnt big into Effexor but I did have to take xan for a few months due to nightmares and depression after something had got me well.. Capped and I remember how hard it was getting off that stuff.. So kudos to you man very good job and keep your head up ya know.
i was off zoloft for 6 weeks ...the anxiety did not return but tbe headaches and dizziness was insane...i have twin boys and could not drive...i was on 1/4 of a tablet every 2nd dday and feel great. If I was diabtic id take insulin and there would be no stigma with that but take a tablet for your brain and we feel we have to get of it. There is a reasone weweton this dont feel pressureto get of it.
Hi, I just had to say, hang in there! it can be done. It took me over 5 months and I was as sick as a dog. Back and forth to the doctors etc. The thing is to wean off very slowly, I mean in small increments. PM me if you need any help. You will probably need to go and get a anti anxiety med (only for a short period so as to not get addicted to that) and vertigo pills if you are affected by nausea and dizziness. Are you getting brain Zaps? God, I know only to well what you are going through.
I've been off effexor going on 6 months and I feel wonderful. I feel better now than I did on them. I still suffer with depression, but I can manage it better AND without any meds. I stay away from them now. Please feel free to contact me if you need encouragement or help with a weaning off schedule. Take Care
When I first went on Effexor XR starting at 37.5mg...I felt 16 yr old again......I was Out of Control HAPPY......I worked up slowly...after about 3 to 4 weeks I needed more dosage....went to 75mg to 150 mg. I had leg and arm jerks not thinking it was the med. I did this when tired. Involuntary full body jerks began. I also had to go on heart medication for Tachacardia. I just think this drug can be very dangerous for some.
Did you write me back? I'm getting all confused, lol. Did you metion Ultram? I have that for pain, but it works for depression? And, what to be informed about? Email me in my inbox, maybe that's easier. I was so sick yesterday!
Hi, Thanks for the reply. Im so glad you are doing well! Wow! you are lucky. For some reason its got such a hold on my system. Others too, if you go on the forums. (Effexor Withdrawals) Maybe its being on a higher dosage, slow release for as long as I was. I've an appointment this morning with my doctor, as Im feeling utterly dreadful. Im convinced it can't get worse than this. Take Care of yourself. Tess
I did the same before I started weaning off slowly. Over 3 months. Now going 4. I still get incredibly sick. Doctor is trying to help with a drug used for alcohol withdrawal. It gets worse as you take less. I was off completely, then on the 4th day, I could not even move my eyes, without vomiting. Nightmare, Parania and hallucinations. Suicidal tendencies. No control over them! Im not trying to scare you, but I learnt the hard way. Please contact me!
Tess, thanks for your concern, im off and doing good, i can totally relate to the moving your eyes and vomiting thing, i wasnt as bad as you, but it is bad!! I am doing good now, i havent taken a pill in about a week, and no side effects. I am sorry this is so hard for you, i hope you get better!!!
what do we need to be informed about? I am sick from trying to get off this!!! naseous, my bosy hurts like hell, i feel like i need a pain relief med. from all the aches and i'm SO TIRED!
One coping strategy is to relax into the pain, if possible, focusing on the fact that you're on a path to where you've decided you want to be. You might find that others' stories of weaning from Effexor or Paxil or Zoloft helpful in that they can provide some perspective. Try searching for 'SSRI withdrawal.'
Withdrawal can be a full body and spirit experience: both expect the chemical and its effects and can react strongly in the chance in the level of the chemicals in your body. It's for this reason that some Drs. prescribe titration over six or eight weeks. Your doctor should give you a detailed schedule. This may entail small decrements. You can cut the pills in half with a pill cutter ($3? at most pharmacies).
Anti depressants messed me up. They're just as dangerous as any street drugs. Yet psychiatrists and MD's push them on people like candy. It's just so fucked up.
