My pacu would do the same thing. I would attempt to distract the pacu while I would drop it in the tank...but he'd still find it. I stopped trying to feed my Pleco and Algae eater the wafers, and they are fine eating the natural algae from the tank.
there normally food for algue eaters and catfish and those kinds of fish but when I put them in, the pacus always eat them so thats what i feed them now. lol
