You know she lied when she said, "I think maybe we got her" You can totally tell that her mother was just putting on a face-for-the-guest. This scene really cracks me up though!!
omg this time around im with the mother .... i dont think any culture would be ok with anyone acting lik that especially when he put soy sauce on the food tsk tsk......
Oh man, I thought all he did was SAY that it needed a little soy sauce, not drown the whole dish in it... god. By the way I got hungry just watching scenes from the movie.
When in Rome be a Roman. When in America be an American. We are a people with manner and considerate to others. We also have table manner too. This is an insulting video the fosters racism and division. TERRIBLE and NOT NOT Funny at all.
@JHorowitz2mil when you are in someone else's home, be considerate of the homeowner. It doesn't matter what country you are in.
Asian and American cultures are very different, where there are things that won't make sense to the other's culture. Keeping an open mind builds understanding. That goes for both sides of the coin (in this instance, Asians and Americans).
Indeed. Considering comments that I not only read on You Tube but hear in person.
Such faux pas would be just as atrocious at the table of a white, Caucasian, European hostess as this Chinese lady's. Also, the part that I also hate (but seems to escape people's attention) is: 2:14 Rich dipping his chopsticks into the common food platter. Ugh! Why didn't he just dish a little on his plate with a serving spoon and, then, eat from there (instead of what is for everyone else, too)?
I stayed in China with my gf's family and we ate frequently at a large communal table, both dining out & when invited into their homes. Common sense, humility, table manners and an appreciative demeanor, lead to acceptance. This is so funny it makes me laugh & cringe at the same time. Thankfully, I believe I didn't make any of the same discourtesies that Rich did. HaHa! I was most surprised when the entire family asked me to sing for them! I certainly wasn't expecting that, but I did all right.
that was rude and greedy and my table manner arent that decent. how the hell do you put something on someones dish. did he even know if the others liked it or not and the large protion was just greedy.
The rectal cancer part gets me every time. Seriously I bet his table manners would have been considered indecent in any culture, even American's. I can live with the spontaneous toasting, but taking a large portion of the plate and soy-saucing the mother's best dish? lol that just spells general ignorance to me.
@judeluo Yeah, I agree w/ you with this guy's indecent table manners. Shrek had more class at the dinner table when he dined with Fiona's parents. No, if he's going to do it the soy-saucing should of been on his own plate of food after he dished it up !
Rich isn't all bad. Did you see that coat he gave her?

Only white people need to learn cultural acceptance. Other races need not apply.

This has to be the funniest clip. It never fails to crack me up, esp the soy sauce and rectal cancer jokes.
