Guys, please understand that he is

1)71 years old and it is very difficult to be fluent in a non-native language at this age

2) He's Peranakan and Chinese is not his Mother tongue

3) Chinese is a tonal language and very difficult to master

And why is he trying so hard? Because he wants to shake off his 'snobbish' persona and win the chinese! He should be applauded for the effort even if you don't think he should be president. Anybody who tries this hard should be cheered on.
