People who blame Jay forget that his show premiered two months AFTER Conan's premiere, so Conan HAD the regular NBC 10:00 line-up for 2 solid months when he started. Conan lost the ratings all by himself, so stop blaming Jay!
That's not a valid argument. Conan's first two months were after sweeps so the network had rerun programming leading up to Conan, then did the worse thing by putting something at 10 that was WORSE than rerun programming.
NBC should've stayed the course through bad ratings with Conan like they did with Cheers, Seinfeld, Dateline NBC and of course, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Then again, NBC is as talented as their 4th place ranking.

The transition between Carson and Leno was done smoothly, with guest hosts, so that views could get used to Leno, and recognized him. NBC didn't try to do the same thing, they just threw Conan in, what did they expect? I've loved Conan since he was the Cone-zone. COCO!

I never cared for Conan`s Show but, I even tuned in on Friday to see his final show and, I have this to say about Conan...He handled his situation with more of a professional attitude than NBC has . Conan really showed me that he is the bigger person and, I hope to see him on another network and dominate NBC`s ratings.
That way he would be free to do any humor he wants, no censorship, and that alone would place him above any of the other network shows that have their balls snipped by the FCC standards.

Conan was the only reason I ever tuned into NBC. Their new attempts at "humor" with their new shows and rip offs like The Office are weak. The only show left with potential is 30 Rock which does quite well, but on principle I am never stopping on NBC ever again. I hope you people will do the same.
Bill Simmons of ESPN predicted in March of 2009 exactly what did happen to Conan in January of 2010. Jay Leno is a hopeless applause junkie who conspired to hurt Conan's ratings by moving to 10 PM to syphon away the best guests. The transition between Carson and Leno was done smoothly, with guest hosts, so that views could get used to Leno, and recognized him. NBC didn't try to do the same thing, they just threw Conan in, what did they expect? I've loved Conan since he was the Cone-zone. COCO!

I never cared for Conan`s Show but, I even tuned in on Friday to see his final show and, I have this to say about Conan...He handled his situation with more of a professional attitude than NBC has . Conan really showed me that he is the bigger person and, I hope to see him on another network and dominate NBC`s ratings.

I think HBO should sign Conan.

Conan was the only reason I ever tuned into NBC. Their new attempts at "humor" with their new shows and rip offs like The Office are weak. The only show left with potential is 30 Rock which does quite well, but on principle I am never stopping on NBC ever again. I hope you people will do the same.

Bill Simmons of ESPN predicted in March of 2009 exactly what did happen to Conan in January of 2010. Jay Leno is a hopeless applause junkie who conspired to hurt Conan's ratings by moving to 10 PM to syphon away the best guests. Leno is played out in my opinion and now has ruined his reputation and damaged the "Tonight Show" brand. NBC is a rudderless ship.

Nbc screwed up thats it, Two good things will come of this one letterman wont get the tonight show again yes and second jay and conan will compete against each other on rival net works and all of conan fans and jay fans can argue on whos better personally i love both. For those of you that think jay selfish and has no talent he has dominated late night for years. NBC fired conan sinc jay is still on their payroll why bring in someone new.

Please remember NBC is firing conan not jay. Now NBC tried to move jay show NBC did. NBC owns the shows. Now since conan ( and i love both conan and jay) refuse to let Nbc move their shows around which he should have, NBC which is the boss among other things tells conan do it or get out.
