  • I seriously could listen to Red Sparowes, Isis, Russian Circles, Pelican and all these types of bands 24/7.

  • @mellymelcantrell you should give Minus the Bear a try. Their album "Ice Monster" is a masterpiece.

  • @mellymelcantrell pardon the album "Planet Of Ice" hahaha i got the song and album mixed up hahaha

  • @mellymelcantrell Hell yeah man post metal is the way to go!

  • considers pointing out the abuse of statistics by western propagandists to demonise Mao, but whatever i adore this album so *shtum*

  • my first post rock band... and greatest after having listened to many post rock bands..

unique sound and atmosphere, unique band!

  • @villyvra I strongly recommend The Evpatoria Report, if you haven't allready. I'm a big post-rock/contemporary classical music fan myself and I've recently stubled upon TER and all I can say is that, once you've found the 'mood', listening to their music is a wonderful experience. So far I can say they are my favorite :) Enjoy.

  • the song titles tell a story...much like the album(s)...it's to be taken as a whole...not pieces

  • @entheogenic13

QFT, people should realize that, please.

  • I love post rock but are these really long song titles not getting a little pretentious.

  • @redcommando1 agreed

  • @redcommando1 I think the point is as a compositional tool. The song title is the concept of the song (obviously) and almost always describes how the song feels. I don't know anything about Red Sparowes creative process, but as someone who has been struggling to create interesting, meaningful instrumentals for the past few years, I can see how the creation of complex song titles before the creation of the music could aide immensely in the compositional process.

  • @redcommando1

every track on the cd had a long name like this.

  • @redcommando1 The titles describe their songs perfectly. It wouldn't be the same without them.

  • @redcommando1 @CannibalisticKoala @FakeSidewalks

If you look at the songs in order on the album, they tell a story, the tale of the Great Leap Forward in China, where, driven by greed, the government tried to increase crops and killed off the "pests" such as sparrows that ate the seeds. The locust population flourished, ate all their crops. Millions died.

  • wow,these guys......

  • Love it!

  • Love this track and looked it up on here to share it. What puling imbecile would give this a thumbs down!?

  • @THATGUY71 The same people that made u2,Coldplav & the killers famous.

  • @redcommando1 Ha ha! Precisely.

    :)

  • @THATGUY71 Maybe they missed? Haha.

  • longest song name ever

    red sparowes are absolutely incredible

  • Believe me, there are longer names. This song is so good. I wish they would take time off from their respective bands, and make another album. Is way past due.

  • New album 'The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies the Answer' in April

  • Damn, i didn't even know about this. I'm now excited though

  • @vivelavidarocka For your luck there is a new album coming out tomorrow called The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer

  • Man the red sparowes started me with their song - A message of avrice rained down on us and carried us away into false dreams and endless riches- . Than i hear the great leap forward- than more- and now i hear this song and im fucking obbsessed. Their music is perfect. It moves me and everyone who listens. It has a beutiful touch but a hardcore feeling to it and thats why its awesome. GO RED SPAROWES
