I hope there will be some sort of Combat minigames maybe something gladiator style or paintball style and playing the game would not affect the main gameplay but only be a way to have more fun and maybe earn a few extra ISK, that would be fun.

Now, if only they'd put a few of these 'extras' that merely add flavor to the game (needed and very appealing flavor, but flavor none-the-less) and throw a few (okay, QUITE a few) more devs toward fixing things which have needed to be fixed for a LONG time (LOLkets would not take too much time/effort if more people were allocated to doing something about them)

I'm a long-time ex-wow player (5-6 years), played EVE on and off during that time. Now with all the changes incoming I can safely say this is the future of MMO games.

The ability to walk on stations, socialise, fight. I mean the whole thing reminds me of Cowboy Bebop to be honest and I love how they're staying true to the Science-Fiction genre.

I've started an account now to be there when EVE truly blows up and become an amazing must-play experience.

I'm an ex-WoW player (pretty good one too) i miss WoW, but one of the main reason I could get my head off WoW was because the difference between level 80 and level 70 end gaming. Blizzard are simply too money-greedy to make lvl 80 end gaming way too easy, just because only a handful could pass Karazhan, let alone SSC TK, look Illidan in the eye and stepped on Kael Thas' room. WoW keeps the noobs and loses the real players. EVE on the other hand wants to keep their loyal players, which is good.

EVE is the most well-built game that I know, because the elements behind it actually create a world that can change by the will of the players, and sometimes even the NPCs. WoW, on the other hand, has elements that demand the player to be immediately familiar with all the elements of the game; while everything is fixed into position so that no matter how much damage you deal to the world around you, everything just respawns and nothing has changed. EVE slaps WoW on the nose and wins the gamers.

I agree. Combat in EVE should be nowhere except in 'Outside'.

Stations should only offer more capabilities for Roleplaying and Socializing, Corp Meetings and such. Not more, not less.

Yeah it would be unrealistic and take away all the Ship to Ship battles if avatars were allowed to fight in space stations.

They'll probably work it so that in-station battles can only be achieved by players that can afford the weapons and the soldiers, allowing players to capture stations and valuable facilities for themselves instead of merely destroying them.

HE's beign smart about this though, like he said he wont make you do it but if you want to you can. Basically its gonna be the appetizer not the main course.

I think alot of games change to radically to quickly and FORCE you to change and they break why you were there in the first place. A good example would be SWG Post-CU.

It seems to me that giving your actual character a new dimension to interact with the Eve universe is a good step forward. I mean, the game's six years old...it's time to evolve.

It's not like anyone is being forced to participate in this new aspect...you can still play Eve like you always have if you want.

It's a step foward. I'm sure with more time they will have tons stuff to do and possibly even going to planets. going to markets to buy stuff is better then just looking at your ship. And its free so how can you complain about that. Even if it was jus walking around playing mini games is better then just looking at your ship!
