I turned this game on just to watch something. But yeah, when it was 2-5 in the third I thought it was over, but then they got within one and I thought "ok, maybe", then after Detroit's goal to make it 4-6 I with like 5 minutes left, I was skeptical, but in the end being a Blackhawks fan, I'm glad I didn't change the channel.

He turned 20 two months ago.. He has been designated to third line - PK duties for most of his young career. It is now that he is allowed to take risks like this as an offensive player.

Staal and Datsyuk are two completely different players and are at two ends of the spectrum. Staal is just starting his career. Datsyuk, with his play style, probably has 4-5 years left before he's done.

Datsyuk has a great backcheck and a pretty good stick, but I'll take size and strength and overall better defense with a great wrister any day. We already two of the three best players in the NHL.. Staal fits where he is. Malkin + Crosby > Zetterberg and Datsyuk.

We're missing two of our top defensemen, Gonchar and Whitney, for the next few months. Gonch got his shoulder injured in Game 5 against the Wings and aggravated it again in the preseason, and Whit had a longstanding foot injury we didn't even know about until recently, and needed surgery.

The fact that we can at least skate with the Wings, nevermind beat them, while missing some key players is a tremendous confidence-booster. Just more proof of how deep a team the Pens are. :)
