Isn't a black hole incredibly small instead of big and its a kole in the scence that it disrupts the Tima-Space continuem but i don't see it as a hole in the traditional sence. Of course oniell is far from a scientist.
Well it's kinda difficult to imagine a 'hole' in the space. I mean space is filled with vacuum (funny to say filled...with nothing...ehm) so since vacuum is emptiness there is pretty much nothing to make the 'hole' in. How can you make a hole in nothing? So yeah it's not a hole in the traditional sense of the word.
Teal'c is an 80 something yr old alien from a more technologically advanced civilization(and held a high rank in that society) and he doesn't know what a black hole is?
Teal'c is essentially a fighter of Appophis and not a scientist. O'Neill is a seasoned Air Force officer and had spent quite some of his previously retired time on astronomy but I don't think he 'really' understand what is a black hole and how it's formed.
unhinderedfury IS just blowing fluff out his ass. He's way off the scientific Explanation of Black holes. Yes they have an immense Gravitational Field that pulls in everything close to it. Even Light itself! Hence why scientists find it hard to find them as they emit no light etc. so there 'invisible'. But they can trace them by the material/light on the inner circle towards the center..
I like SG1.. And i liked this episode. Only seen it once, hence searching it on here :)

Wrong. This is the kind of bullshit that makes the public believe stupid theories about cosmic stuff.
A black hole is an extremely dense sphere of matter, no more than perhaps 2 miles wide. To understand the density of this, a mere teaspoonful of this material would weigh over a billion tons. The gravitational pull of this "black hole" is extremely great, resulting in the vacuum action that common people refer to as "sucking". Hopefully this clears some things up.
