@JohnnyDarko01 Just asking, have you ever heard of singers like, for example, Anneke Van Giersbergen, Floor Jansen, Vibeke Stene or Marcela Bovio? Of course this is a matter of opinion, but IMO they have better voices and are much more versatile than Tarja.

And btw, I live in Finland, I consider Oceanborn and Wishmaster as their best records and Tarja is, of course, one my favourite female singers.

She left TG a few years ago and is doing pop now, but has also done a really good metalrecord Addicted with canadian Devin Townsend. And yes, it is sad that your public image basically makes your success. Mix image and autotune and you have Rihanna. And i hate Aguilera's "voice masturbation".

I've yet to hear something by Anette but I don't think I'll be disappointed. What always gets me about Nightwish are the absolutely phenomenal instrumental scores and fantastical lyrics by Tuomas. does anyone else feel like Tarja's voice was, well, higher? it seems to me like most of the songs Tuomas wrote for her were a little too low for her. don't get me wrong, she has a bad ass, heroic lower/middle range but I think her voice sounds more comfortable on songs like this where the tessitura is a little higher. her voice is able to "ring" more and sounds more free and less "bottled". she is a soprano after all, sopranos are designed to sing high =D
