  • Fabian got so much better

  • @krprunitennis he plays a lot! plus he has athleticism and height--i'm happy for the brother--he loves to play and is a really nice guy--fair line calls. excellent. i'll tell him

  • @hi10spro haha cool. how tall is he?

  • @krprunitennis 6 feet 3? 185 cm

  • Basically, a good baseliner is unbeatable provided that his level of play is high enough to clear the weaker balls and that he is indeed a better player than you are... the baseline versus the net, the baseliner wins.

However, a good player should always be able to play each and every shot and use it as a weapon. Federer proved the complete play to be the solution to every match.

  • @GueorguiJoukov some people are counter punchers, baseliners, serve/volleyers, and all court. it's a personality thing

Personnaly, the most fun I get is from baseline rallies and it's also there that I am the hardest to beat. But, the point behind playing on the baseline is to find a way to enter the court and rip a shorter ball to win the point.

You are the man who changed my game into a more versatile and all-around game; when it doesn't work behind, I get the net. Giving different views is part of the success of each stroke; always bother about being able to win off any position.

  • The idea is not to rely on your tendencies on natural abilities to outplay your opponent, but to rather adapt your game to a more suitable style. There was a time where there were baseliners, net players, counter-punchers who dominated the game; then came a more defensive era where the top player was one able to be a consistant attacker.

The game advantages baseline rallies, but if you cannot get the edge off shorter balls or mix it in by coming to the net, your play is pretty pointless.

  • @GueorguiJoukov it's hard to be effective and have fun--the net play game takes a long time to learn--but my baseline game has gone to hell due to my lack of playing time so i come to net a lot. ideally, the foundation is baseline style. But, it's so boring for me--i get so frustrated, tired, and annoyed staying on the baseline

I used to hate the net play, but since I learnt the technic, it became much easier which led me into using it efficiently. The pleasure I get from every sport is that of acomplishment; it's not about winning, nor about being the best player on Earth, but rather about performing motions, shots, strokes, movements which requires a high level of focus and coordination.

When I am able to impress myself, to surpass my level, then I enjoy playing. I had my best time loosing 6-4,6-1,7-5.

  • Since I hurt my hand, I had to change my grip in order to keep playing without getting blood all over my hands. From Eastern to semi-western, you bet I had to adjust the motion.

Before, my baseline game was very hard and flat; now, I can aim for the cross point of the sideline and the service line; I can hit top spin lob; I got very fast stroke bouncing at the service line so high you could try to smash them...

Like a golf player who marvels at his drive, I contemplate my shot and smile.

  • @GueorguiJoukov yech...that's way too much information
