@brute997 other than looks, I think its because of the way its marketed and the targeted audience. its a mid size car, close to the malibu. Most people want it for A to B, a family car, or a good first car. Most people don't want a sporty mid size car. they'd rather go and buy a mustang or camaro because its "Cool" (I don't support that)
that looks retarded on the sedan man...why didn't you get a coupe and do it on that? Besides that though it looks like you just moved the exhaust essentially to side exit...and it looks professional so good job.
how u gonna tll tht man he shouldn't got a totally different car haha he might got kids or something....but i thought it was a little awkward but neat plus free labor!!!
you knock it, saying that it looks retarted... and then you say 'oh good job' ??
people have their preferences for things... personally, when i'm totting friends around, they dont want to have to crawl in the back. I think its an awesome car... dont let anyone tell you different.
The 3500 V6 sounds great with a straight pipe. I also have a side exit on my 2005 Malibu Maxx LS with the 3.5 V6, and it sounds identical at idle and revving. I've kept mine straight pipe though, I like the pops and crackles when I downshift.
it was a straight pipe, but since then I added a 31 inch long thrush glass pack with a 2.5 inch inlet/outlet. It fits into the center tunnel on the car, and still exits out the side of the car. I added the glasspack to give a little more backpressure to the motor.
@CoChicken1337 really? have you ever looked down a glass pack? you don't think a million holes and them sharp vents don't create any back pressure? you might want to google glass packs and learn a little bit. main reason there used is to resonate that nasty exhaust note (which is why my g6 has a 24" one on it) second reason is to create back pressure at low rpm's otherwise you get crap mpg and your car runs like complete ass after a week if your just straight piped.
I have a glasspack on my car dummy. You can look straight through them. There's almost nothing to slow down exhaust flow. Chambered mufflers are the type that actually give some back pressure. Glasspacks produce next to none since the exhaust just goes straight through. My car is catless with a glasspack and it doesn't get crap fuel economy and it runs great. You don't know anything about this subject. That much is clear. Just go away now.
@CoChicken1337 again you might want to look up glass packs. Incase you didn't realize i own my own Tuning company and well i think a guy that tunes GM vehicles for a living would know what he is talking about when it comes to exhaust piping considering i have to tune the timing based off of every single aspect of the vehicle. you don't believe me go check out my vid today hitting 145 with a G6 and it to has a glass pack.
@CoChicken1337 ignorance is a lack of knowledge, it has nothing to do with life choices or actions.
glass packs were designed to slightly muffle sound and reduce back pressure at HIGH SPEEDS, glass packs have been known to SLIGHTLY reduce back pressure over a conventional muffler. IF YOUR CAR IS STRAIGHT PIPED AND YOU PUT A GLASS PACK ON YOUR CAR WILL HAVE MORE BACK PRESSURE AT LOW RPMS THEN IT WOULD WITH OUT ONE. learn how to read :)
@CoChicken1337 im sure it does ha, lack of knowledge thats me yepp right on target. Think again ha, stick to your POS car building and let the people who know what there doing alone. Its grown up time, i suggest you push.
Do both sides... that's sick dude!! :)

do you think a 28 inch is enough length to cover the resenator?
Irkie500 3 years ago
@newbiestyle01
Oh great, the backpressure myth.
colsley 1 year ago
@newbiestyle01
That wouldn't add any back pressure at all. It's a completely straight through muffler. Although, I bet it sounds 10 times better with it on there.
