Hey, check out my Ron Paul vs Lincoln video. If you don't believe in secession, then you believe in slavery, for you are for enslaving people to a government that they want no part of:
It's amazing to see how stead fast in his beliefs this man is, he is so stead fast in his principles, that even washington DC couldn't corrupt him. That says something about his character.
Great interview with great insights by Ron and the host. Thank god that the host acknowledged the New World Order because they are the ones behind everything for a eugenics based tyrannical world government.
Ron Paul came four years too early. Non-partisan, working people of America now realize the two-party sham perpetuated on us citizens is going to be our demise.
Republicrats or Demicons, there is really no escape from the Orwellian machine that is methodically selling this country to an "entity!"
What is that entity? Perhaps Dan Brown could write a novel on it. I'm simultaneously being serious and flippant.
Either vote out the incumbent or start a third party to embrace consensus.
@PersianPaladin You are right! Real conservatives like Ron Paul and The conservative Caucus are on your side. RINOS who ran and ruined the GOP majority in Congress and the Bush White House spent the USA into debt beyond belief, and gave away American jobs via WTO to China.
He's someone who deserves to "violate" the congressional term limits by being a decent human being and not being susceptible to getting his hand caught in the cookie jar and megalomania like so many you could name throughout the place.
Today's financial crisis foretold in 1997...I was in eight grade then and I understood monetary policy,...to bad "americans" are too stupid to understand some 1st grade politics. IF you are a real "american" like myself you would have voted for Ron Paul like i did. God bless you Ron, we must fight on to keep our real United States of America.
It was unfortunate I couldn't vote for Ron Paul in Colorado as he was not on the ballot. But, I did vote for the Libertarian candidate Bob Barr who upholds the same principles. Either Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin (Constituion Party) were excellent choices instead of voting for more of the same masquerading as change.
Indeed, God bless Ron Paul and God help Americans who think the status quo is a solution.
But we can't change things by calling people "stupid." They're just uninformed and brain washed. But things will change when the dollar collapses and the gov't can't continue to give out free entitlements.
He was excluded thanks to the pleas of Rupert Murdoch, FIXEDNEWS and the GOP because they feared a big showing by Ron Paul. He could've hit over 20% in New Hampshire had he been included.
I still cannot believe this guy DID NOT win the Republican nomination for POTUS. He would have won the election by a LANDSLIDE!!! Nobama wouldn't have had a "snowball's chance in hell" of winning.
Anyhoo, I hope Ron tries again in 2012.
I wonder how many conservatives stayed home on election day because of McCain?
I can believe it because the game is rigged against him. Paul being wrongfully excluded from a very KEY debate in the New Hampshire primary where there were a LOT OF KEY INDEPENDENT VOTES, really hurt his beginning momentum. The big money got their two candidates in the election and once again did not include third party candidates in the debates. The big money had their man regardless and the election system needs serious overhaul for guys like Paul to have a chance.
I doubt he'll run again 2012, he's getting old. McCain's age was an issue and Ron Paul is older. However, the Republican party in its current form is an AWFUL party and they're rethinking their strategies. They saw that people are sick of neoconservatives (and rightfully so), so maybe they're going to rethink their principles now. That's why I hoped Obama would win, McCain and Obama suck equally to me, but with a Democrat winning, the GOP may reform their party. One can hope.
McCain's age WAS an issue for him because he's in such poor physical shape as it is (yes, some of his health problems are likely worsened by what happened to him as a POW but still), and I guarantee that wasn't the reason he lost.
Ron Paul seems to be in pretty good shape especially for his age, and if he runs again I will definitely vote for him. Heck I'll do more than just vote, I'll actually get out there and hit the pavement for a Ron Paul Presidency.
The purpose of the Bill of Rights is to protect individualism. The second amendment applies to individuals "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed". Ron Paul agrees with this interpretation.
Yes, but he's against the "Incorporation Doctrine." Before the incorporation Doctrine the Bill of Rights only Applied to the Rights that the Federal Government can't violate. The States can Violate the Right to bear Arms, but the Federal Government cannot. Before the passing of the 14th amendment in 1868 none of the Bill of Rights applied to the States.
Factoid: The Freedom of Speech did not apply to the States until 1925.
In Fact, the 2nd amendment still does not apply to the States
Also look up this case where the Freedom of Religion didn't apply to the States until 1940
Cantwell v. Connecticut
This will inform you of the Incorporation Doctrine. Ron Paul has stated, he is against Incorporation doctrine. He may be against restriction of firearms but he has no Constitutional Basis for limiting the State's rights to enforce Gun Control according to his logic.
Interesting topic. From what I understand, Paul's rejection of the incorporation doctrine is one of philosphy. First, it permits the federal courts to be used to decide state issues, and second it is contradictory since in many cases the feds are violating the bill of rights simply by "sticking its nose" where it is not allowed. I have no doubt that Paul's views are of Individual rights and, from what I understand, the 2nd amend. hasn't been incorporatad anyway like the 1st or 5th.
I understand what you're getting at though. I think that it is clear that the intent of the 2nd amend. is one of preserving individual rights. The Jeffersonian anti-federalits demanded the bill of rights to protect idividual liberty regardless of state affilliation. Now does that technically only apply to federal powers? I don't see any judicail precedent for it. Maybe I'm wrong...good talking to you though
I think a lot of people actually get that fact. With localized government he is saying that if Indianapolis Indiana as a community wants to ban firearms then they can but it won't affect Louisville Kentucky. This is not hypocritical he wants the community to decide for themselves and not the federal government.
No, I don't think People get that fact. Almost all the Ron Paul Supporters I talk to do not know this. Of Course the Second Amendment has not been incorporated anyway, so Ron Paul can support the current construction by the Supreme Court in that regard.
However, Ron Paul wants the Local Government to able to restrict: Freedom of Speech Freedom of Religion Freedom of Press
It would be irrelevant under Ron Paul's construction of the Constitution whether he would want these rights restricted or not, because the United States Congress could not pass laws protecting certain citizens civil liberties from the States, even if they wanted to.
Before recent years, in lieu of selective incorporation, the States restricted all kinds of civil liberties found in the Bill of Rights, that we today for granted.
No, he's a libertarian. He wants to maximize individual liberty, but because he's a national politician he is primarily concerned with restraining the federal government, using the law of land, the Constitution.
Funny that the Marines, DHS, FBI, etc. just took over ("pre-deployment exercises") a large repressed part of town there. Indiana has also given up their highways to the Spanish in the recent past. It looks like the heartland has already been communized. I don't know about you but I'm arming myself and moving to New Hampshire with the Free State Project.
No that's just legality. In fact, that's how it worked when the constitution was first in use, because the constitution is meant to regulate the federal government only, unless specifically stated otherwise.
It's not my view soccom, it was Chief Justice John Marshall's view. John Marshall was appointed to the Supreme Court by president John Adams. See Baron v. Baltimore.
The issue changed though, with the passage of the 14th amendment, through the 'due process clause,' which was aimed directly at the States. Through the 14th amendment, the Supreme Court slowly but surely began to incorporate the Bill of Rights into the due process of clause of the 14th amendment.
It might make perfect since to you, but Ron Paul is adamantly opposed to Incorporation. How many times do I have to say it?
Ron Paul does not think that the Bill of Rights should protect people from State Government. He wants the construction to go back to what is was under Barron v. Baltimore
Love Ron Paul and his timeless message. He does indeed set the best example. Should have listened to him then. Also love this wonderful host. Unlike the nervous Nellies of today, Howard is so relaxed and makes it easy to listen and understand the conversation no matter how complex the topic. Thanks for posting this video and Thanks to all the people who produced this video.
Ron Paul is right on the CFR/NAU. You should tell everyone about it and explain to them that you are a Paultard, so that they all know to vote for Ron Paul.
and no, I'm not voting for ron paul. as i said before I'm a kucinich liberal but I can see that ron paul is paying attention on the real issues like the CFR and the Fed. ron paul is wrong on gay marriage, wrong on don't ask don't tell, wrong on SCHIP, wrong on abortion, wrong on education, etc. but those are secondary issues to the fascism rising in our government right now and ron paul is right where it counts.
you think the NAU is a joke? the Africian Union and the Europian UNion are very much alive and active..i know you remember when the EU was just an "economic community" now they pass laws and have military fighting those that would object to being memebers of these one world goverment....Chavez calling on a union for south america to face the West...China wakeing up in a hurry.russia rearming ...are you so hopeless on past and present events you choose to laugh it off? be brave be free ..learn!
you're a dumb fuck. the agenda of the CFR is not a conspiracy theory. why don't you get your lazy ass to the website of the texas state legislature and see all the money they've been appropriating for the NAFTA super highway. also bush signed off on the SPP with the canadian and mexican governments in 2005 which is the precursor for the NAU. also i'm a kucinich liberal and i don't support ron paul on the race issue. go read a book.
Voting for Ron Paul is voting for the future of our country,we must not forget our enemies are the corrupt politicians in Washington that trample our constitution, our sovereignty and the rule of law. Most of the corrupt politicians are in the pocket of the Bankers and the multinational corporations, they pass legislations that have taken our jobs and decreased our wages, they all sale-out and they represent their masters, not the people that elected them to office.
Amen, look up the definition of integrity and you will see... well, the definition of integrity. But Ron Paul is definitely steadfastly adhering to a strict moral and ethical code. It's called the constitution.
A brilliant "man for all seasons". This man's wisdom, reason and honesty shines like a beacon through the present-day fog. His advice at 25:40 should be screamed from the rooftops by every independant American citizen and passed on by every parent to their children.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
"These guys", are voting for other candidates as well.
Can't "They" care about America too?
What Dr. Paul advocates, benifits them little, if anything.
Who are followers & those within The Black Panther's and Louis Farrakhan, the openly Communistic and Marxist voting for? And should candidates distance themselves from these people as well?
They can't. 'They' ARE America. Take it or LEAVE IT.
I'm sure my statement would count as "political hyperbole." I didn't mean to detract from other statesmen like Goldwater, though such individuals are few and far between these days.
Dr. Paul has a wisdom of economic and political workings not seen in politicians since the Founders. He truly has the qualifications to be President unlike any other candidate running.
His basic view has not changed. In 1997 I wouldn't have give him a second thought. One week ago I hadn't given him a second thought. Today I think of Ron Paul for president. UK for Ron Paul. Go vote America
Vote for Hillary! Vote for 'No city left without a mushroom cloud.' Vote for gas and food shortages to toughen Americans! Vote for terrorists running amok through city wastelands! Vote for anarchy and tyranny and corner-store torture! Vote for the fifth fleet on the bottom of the ocean and Blackwater running Mexican troops through American Streets! Don't forget to vote for your own destruction in 08!
This guy impresses me more than any other politician I've ever seen. I'm a lifelong Democrat who's going to cross party lines for this man in this historic upcoming election.
I love all the smart comments here. What everyone needs to know is that Ron Paul can not win if the present voting system persists. Please please please do whatever you can, wherever you are to support efforts for a transparent and verifiable vote count!!! Especially in New Hampshire and Iowa! Go to votefraud"dot"org and see how to watch the vote count for Ron Paul!
Howard Phillips was the U.S. Taxpayer's Party (now the Constitution Party) Presidential Candidate in 1996. I know that he supported Ron Paul's 1988 campaign, and I have read that he has endorsed him this time around as well. Michael Pertouka, the Constitution Party's 2004 candidate, has also come out in support of Dr. Paul.
"Beware! My girl and myself sent our paperwork to The Board of Elections to change our party and promptly received our new registration cards. After examining the cards I am still registered Libertarian and she is still an Independent. We need to get the word out to everone changing parties to check their new cards ASAP. If you are unsure please call your local office to find out what party they have you affiliated with. Please forward and post this everywhere possible."
Some of the discussion in this interview is incredibly prescient, you get the sense that Ron could tell the political tides would shift, the pendulum could only swing so far before the revolution would begin.
Please register at this website and spread the word people.
teaparty07 . com
Our goal is to get 100,000 people registered and each one of them will give a 100 dollar donation...that makes a total of 10,000,000 HUGE BUCKS! Just think of the exposure Ron Paul will get...pure madness! We need him and he needs us. Please register and please spread the word =)
If everyone gave all of their money to Dr. Paul, our sham of an economy would collapse like the house of cards it is, and he would personally circumvent the Fed and renew the gold standard from scratch... he's that principled. Where would you rather have your money, in his hands, or in a bank..?
The Federal Reserve holds most of the gold that the U.S.A. owns as collateral for the "loans" they give us. If we default on those loans - aka Federal Reserve Notes, they take the real money and run. That's why JFK went with debt-free silver certificates to run in tandem with worthless FRNs.
Ron Paul needs us to form a protective ring around him, so that he doesn't go down like JFK and Lincoln (who distributed Greenbacks shortly before his assassination).
Finally the cat's out of the bag. Finally courage and integrity speaks truth to power.
How ultra-rarified it truly is in the criminal DC den of thieves hiding behind the bogus veil of "common good" while they skim the cream of our production.
WTF up America - these Fed bastards have stolen ALL our gold, while telling us real money is a barbaric relic, while they print fiat from nothing - don't you see the f*ing hipocracy???
My cousin after learning of RP changed from D to R and ALSO my deceased fathers best friend turned from D to R. I take credit because I'm the one who turned them on to RP. Anndd I registered two un-registered people R. I am glad you joined the revolution too.
The message goes wayyy beyond political parties. Our SOVEREIGNTY is at stake. America needs a Doctor.
Are you serious? Do you have any idea what Ron Paul has done coming in to this election!?!? How many eyes has he opened? How many people are waking up? He is a brilliant leader and should he fail, people will fill his shoes. He is the kind of inspirational person that some would consider a saint in medieval times. Do not underestimate the power of what he has done. Many people are moving emotionally and intellectually to take America back (I'm an aussie and watching RP closely :) )
People won't wake up until the recession we're in smacks them in the face. We need people who understand economics, and quite simply, no one outside of Paul and a couple of others in Congress really do. Spend spend spend, no accountability. It's insane. Make no mistake about it, this country is in a recession, and it's going to hurt every one very soon. Just wait, America is going DOWN.
Ron Paul is the Gandhi of our time -- Self-Rule, Self-Determination, both based on the "true" teachings of Christ (Gandhi also had strong influences from Jainism), also Gandhi and Paul both were high level professionals (Doctor and a Lawyer). Both bucked the establishment and both proposed non-interventionist philosophy of non-violence (anti-abortion, anti-death penalty) both favor the 2nd amendment! Gandhi said, "...darkest day in Indian history when England denied Indians right to bare arms."
I'm a member of the Constitution Party...but in the state of Minnesota the primary is open...and we are doing all we can to support RON PAUL in the CP. This is a grand coalition of parties and people in America who are sick and tired of the lies, manipulation and loss of freedom. FACE IT!....The 2nd American Revolution has begun.
Outstanding stuff! Two great patriots discussing issues that face us today. This was from 10 years ago, the foresight of these men is spot on. Ron Paul for President. Howard Phillips should get a cabinet position under Ron. Stop the NWO!
Sorry...many of us have worked with Howard Phillips for over a decade to establish the Constitution Party. As members of that party, we are not allowed to vote in the primary elections in many states. Primaries are party functions.
Beyond that, realize that the GOP will never allow a candidate like Ron Paul to be nominated. Ask Buchanan or Keyes.
For people who say this is "blowback", I have to say: these decisions our government made way before i was born doesnt mean im going to sick back and say we deserve this and give up. for whatever reason, im going to say screw those terrorist and kill all those sonsabitches. just because my government "might" have screwed up doesnt mean im going to say its ok to kill us. fuck them.
Of course not. Ron Paul says we have to take them down, which is why he voted for the deployment of troops in Afganistan to take out Osama bin Laden. However, he is also saying pull out of Iraq because that is just senseless killing and nothing to do with national security.
do you know what would happen "if" we pulled out of iraq? its very simple really: iran's government would overthrow what weve been trying to put in place and take over. iran would also start building more training camps for the jihad, and the next thing you know, BOOM, a bomb goes off in this country because we let the terrorist win. i dont like being over there either but you have to consider the alternative.
When we took Saddam out, it was a blessing for the Ayatollas of Iran. Iran will try to take over and it all likelihood, they will the moment we leave, regardless of what kind of government we install in Iraq. Pulling the troops out is the best thing America can do.
The civil war that ensues (assuming that it will) will severely weaken the islamist movement. It will also weaken the ability for the jihadist to recruit new members (the Russians pulled out, you don't see any animus by al Qaeda against Russia today do you?). The savings from ending the war will provided the necessary resource to fight islam inspired jihad here in America (Saudi sponsored mosque and madrassahs, teaching fundamental islam).
Even if the scenario you mentioned emerges, as Ron Paul says it, we should "DECLARE WAR AND WIN IT". Bomb the shit out of those camps, take them out emphatically and have no regrets doing so. Don't go into nation building and assume that an American installed pseudo-democratic government in Iraq is going to be a boon. In fact, it's just the opposite.
we should blow the shit out of them now and then leave. why wait for iran to take over iraq? thats the whole problem with this war in the first place. its called "rules of engagement", and it sucks. we could have saved a lot of american lives if we would have taken all of them out, but liberal politicians would have called bush a murderer.
Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say kill all Iraqis. The problem is that we went in to this war because of WMD and the threat that Saddam would immeniently use them. After we captured Saddam and found no WMDs, that should be it, the war should have ended there and then.
I guess you are not aware of actual video/photography that was taken while saddam moved a lot of "weapons" to syria right before the war. Sir, I'm not stupid and I look at facts. I don't want all Iraqis killed, but there were targets we didnt engage, and we knew they were bad guys. political correctness is bullshit.
Precisely. All America has to do to secure our freedom and liberty is exactly that. Identify the target, assess if its a threat to our freedom. If it is, declare war, take out the target and win it. After that is done, just come home. Why bother about nation building? Its costing you, me and everyone else almost hundreds of trillion dollars and the money can be better spent securing our own borders and enforcing our own internal security
Andrew.. Your logic is sound.. However.. I saw you say "or the terrorists would win." .. Which Terrorists are you talking about? Al Qaeda? Well, if WE (The United States of America) were not currently FUNDING Jundullah (Sunni Al Qaeda group) with weapons and money to fight Iran, I would think it could hold more water. As it is, we are fighting Al Qaeda and FUNDING themat the same time. Conflict of interest?
Giuliani & Romney have declined to participate in the youtube debates in September. The establishment is hoping for a cancelation of the republican youtube debates. They'd rather sacrifice their image on a no-show than give Ron Paul the opportunity to further spread his message to the masses. These people are cowards and can't answer questions unless they are predetermined and scripted. They are SCARED of the American people.

Ron Paul seems to be in pretty good shape especially for his age, and if he runs again I will definitely vote for him. Heck I'll do more than just vote, I'll actually get out there and hit the pavement for a Ron Paul Presidency.

Yes but under Ron Paul's view of the Constitution any State should be able to completely prohibit Firearms. Ron Paul is a hypocritical nincompoop.
A lot of people don't know this about Ron Paul.
sunstorm007 3 years ago
sunstorm007
The purpose of the Bill of Rights is to protect individualism. The second amendment applies to individuals "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed". Ron Paul agrees with this interpretation.
zuckfat 3 years ago 2
Yes, but he's against the "Incorporation Doctrine." Before the incorporation Doctrine the Bill of Rights only Applied to the Rights that the Federal Government can't violate. The States can Violate the Right to bear Arms, but the Federal Government cannot. Before the passing of the 14th amendment in 1868 none of the Bill of Rights applied to the States.
Factoid: The Freedom of Speech did not apply to the States until 1925.
In Fact, the 2nd amendment still does not apply to the States
sunstorm007 3 years ago
Look up the Supreme Court Cases:
Barron v. Baltimore
Gitlow v. New York Free Speech case
Also look up this case where the Freedom of Religion didn't apply to the States until 1940
Cantwell v. Connecticut
This will inform you of the Incorporation Doctrine. Ron Paul has stated, he is against Incorporation doctrine. He may be against restriction of firearms but he has no Constitutional Basis for limiting the State's rights to enforce Gun Control according to his logic.
sunstorm007 3 years ago
Interesting topic. From what I understand, Paul's rejection of the incorporation doctrine is one of philosphy. First, it permits the federal courts to be used to decide state issues, and second it is contradictory since in many cases the feds are violating the bill of rights simply by "sticking its nose" where it is not allowed. I have no doubt that Paul's views are of Individual rights and, from what I understand, the 2nd amend. hasn't been incorporatad anyway like the 1st or 5th.
zuckfat 3 years ago 2
I understand what you're getting at though. I think that it is clear that the intent of the 2nd amend. is one of preserving individual rights. The Jeffersonian anti-federalits demanded the bill of rights to protect idividual liberty regardless of state affilliation. Now does that technically only apply to federal powers? I don't see any judicail precedent for it. Maybe I'm wrong...good talking to you though
zuckfat 3 years ago 2
Second Amendment is a federal mandate to the states. It cannot be infringed. RPFTW

sunstorm007 3 years ago
I think a lot of people actually get that fact. With localized government he is saying that if Indianapolis Indiana as a community wants to ban firearms then they can but it won't affect Louisville Kentucky. This is not hypocritical he wants the community to decide for themselves and not the federal government.
matt47274 3 years ago 4
No, I don't think People get that fact. Almost all the Ron Paul Supporters I talk to do not know this. Of Course the Second Amendment has not been incorporated anyway, so Ron Paul can support the current construction by the Supreme Court in that regard.
However, Ron Paul wants the Local Government to able to restrict: Freedom of Speech Freedom of Religion Freedom of Press
sunstorm007 3 years ago
Does Ron Paul actually say that he wants local government to restrict these things?
soccom8341576 3 years ago
LOL! That's a rhetorical question.
It would be irrelevant under Ron Paul's construction of the Constitution whether he would want these rights restricted or not, because the United States Congress could not pass laws protecting certain citizens civil liberties from the States, even if they wanted to.
Before recent years, in lieu of selective incorporation, the States restricted all kinds of civil liberties found in the Bill of Rights, that we today for granted.
sunstorm007 3 years ago
No, he's a libertarian. He wants to maximize individual liberty, but because he's a national politician he is primarily concerned with restraining the federal government, using the law of land, the Constitution.
littlebier8 3 years ago
Funny that the Marines, DHS, FBI, etc. just took over ("pre-deployment exercises") a large repressed part of town there. Indiana has also given up their highways to the Spanish in the recent past. It looks like the heartland has already been communized. I don't know about you but I'm arming myself and moving to New Hampshire with the Free State Project.
LumpyRevolution 3 years ago
No that's just legality. In fact, that's how it worked when the constitution was first in use, because the constitution is meant to regulate the federal government only, unless specifically stated otherwise.
PhilintheBlank0 3 years ago
That's exactly what I said.
sunstorm007 3 years ago
So your view is that the states can ban firearms, limit free speech and do whatever they please, because they aren't bound by the constitution?
soccom8341576 3 years ago
It's not my view soccom, it was Chief Justice John Marshall's view. John Marshall was appointed to the Supreme Court by president John Adams. See Baron v. Baltimore.
The issue changed though, with the passage of the 14th amendment, through the 'due process clause,' which was aimed directly at the States. Through the 14th amendment, the Supreme Court slowly but surely began to incorporate the Bill of Rights into the due process of clause of the 14th amendment.
sunstorm007 3 years ago
So now, an individual is protected by the legal rights as said in the Constitution, and no government, state or federal can deprive you of it?
That makes more sense.
soccom8341576 3 years ago
It might make perfect since to you, but Ron Paul is adamantly opposed to Incorporation. How many times do I have to say it?
Ron Paul does not think that the Bill of Rights should protect people from State Government. He wants the construction to go back to what is was under Barron v. Baltimore

It's a shame that true liberal-bashing is not very suitable for a modern presidential campaign. Paul seemed edgier in prior years.
But the philosophy is still sharp. And its not intendted to cut the people; it's intended to cut taxes and to cut government.
Liberal-fixing is better than liberal-bashing, I guess.

Beyond that, realize that the GOP will never allow a candidate like Ron Paul to be nominated. Ask Buchanan or Keyes.

For people who say this is "blowback", I have to say: these decisions our government made way before i was born doesnt mean im going to sick back and say we deserve this and give up. for whatever reason, im going to say screw those terrorist and kill all those sonsabitches. just because my government "might" have screwed up doesnt mean im going to say its ok to kill us. fuck them.
andrew197553 4 years ago
Of course not. Ron Paul says we have to take them down, which is why he voted for the deployment of troops in Afganistan to take out Osama bin Laden. However, he is also saying pull out of Iraq because that is just senseless killing and nothing to do with national security.
bochap21 4 years ago
do you know what would happen "if" we pulled out of iraq? its very simple really: iran's government would overthrow what weve been trying to put in place and take over. iran would also start building more training camps for the jihad, and the next thing you know, BOOM, a bomb goes off in this country because we let the terrorist win. i dont like being over there either but you have to consider the alternative.
andrew197553 4 years ago
When we took Saddam out, it was a blessing for the Ayatollas of Iran. Iran will try to take over and it all likelihood, they will the moment we leave, regardless of what kind of government we install in Iraq. Pulling the troops out is the best thing America can do.
bochap21 4 years ago
The civil war that ensues (assuming that it will) will severely weaken the islamist movement. It will also weaken the ability for the jihadist to recruit new members (the Russians pulled out, you don't see any animus by al Qaeda against Russia today do you?). The savings from ending the war will provided the necessary resource to fight islam inspired jihad here in America (Saudi sponsored mosque and madrassahs, teaching fundamental islam).
bochap21 4 years ago
Even if the scenario you mentioned emerges, as Ron Paul says it, we should "DECLARE WAR AND WIN IT". Bomb the shit out of those camps, take them out emphatically and have no regrets doing so. Don't go into nation building and assume that an American installed pseudo-democratic government in Iraq is going to be a boon. In fact, it's just the opposite.
bochap21 4 years ago
we should blow the shit out of them now and then leave. why wait for iran to take over iraq? thats the whole problem with this war in the first place. its called "rules of engagement", and it sucks. we could have saved a lot of american lives if we would have taken all of them out, but liberal politicians would have called bush a murderer.
andrew197553 4 years ago
Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say kill all Iraqis. The problem is that we went in to this war because of WMD and the threat that Saddam would immeniently use them. After we captured Saddam and found no WMDs, that should be it, the war should have ended there and then.
bochap21 4 years ago
I guess you are not aware of actual video/photography that was taken while saddam moved a lot of "weapons" to syria right before the war. Sir, I'm not stupid and I look at facts. I don't want all Iraqis killed, but there were targets we didnt engage, and we knew they were bad guys. political correctness is bullshit.
andrew197553 4 years ago
Precisely. All America has to do to secure our freedom and liberty is exactly that. Identify the target, assess if its a threat to our freedom. If it is, declare war, take out the target and win it. After that is done, just come home. Why bother about nation building? Its costing you, me and everyone else almost hundreds of trillion dollars and the money can be better spent securing our own borders and enforcing our own internal security
bochap21 4 years ago
