This is absolutely the best version I've ever heard of this song! The vocals are awesome and the only way music could be any better would be to start over again!
I was there! What a voice she has! It was hot as heck and they put on a great show. That's a great arrangement of this tune from the old "Front Porch String Band" days. Especially the three part harmony on the very last chorus.
I love the whole song, esp the guitar and the bass solos!! When does/did Missy Raines play with the CLaire Lynch band? I like her much better than the guy who I see on most of her other videos. Wabash is just not the same without Missy!
Missy Raines is a fine bass player, but this is supposed to be BLUEGRASS. BLUEGRASS, got it? ...not jazz, not blues, ...BLUEGRASS. If you're going to play in a Bluegrass band, then you need to play BLUEGRASS. !!!!! There IS a difference between Knoxville and New Orleans.
I like everything from Master P to Metallica to Mana, but never really got into bluegrass. I heard this song by the Claire Lynch Band this morning and frickin loved it! Thanks for turnin me on to something new!
I first heard Claire perform Wabash Cannonball 33 years ago with The Front Porch String Band. She was great then, but she has truly matured into a phenomenal talent and has surrounded herself with truly excellent musicians. Missy Raines was my inspiration for learning to play bass - I'll never be the musician she is, but I sure do enjoy myself!! Way to go guys!
I just saw Claire Lynch at last weekends Joe Val Festival, and it was just a wonderful experience. Thanks for the video. Top rating and a favorite for sure!
I agree this is the best interpretation of "Wabash Cannonball" I've heard I've always liked Clair since hearing her on XM's Bluegrass Junction, but after I heard her on this song...I immediately had to buy the CD "Crowd Favorites". EXCELLENT CD!
That is just a great version of the song. Creative and full of special solo's. Missy Raines is amazing on bass! I always enjoy playing that number on Fitzgrass.
This is without a doubt the best interpretation of this song. THE ORIGINAL. With all the new bands these days doing synthetic midi music, this is absoilutely fantastic. AMAZING guitar work there. WOW. Love it!
