freaking asian people. no matter how hard i practice or how many hours i put into a piece of music there will always be some asian person somewhere that will school me on any piece of music. i've spent 6 hours slaving over the sheet music (hardly anything i know but i have something to go by at least) and right now it sounds like crap. he freaking plays it by ear. *sigh* i won't stop. but this guy, this guy has talent. You're my hero sir, bravo. Amazing performance. #respect

I play by ear, which means, that when we listen to a piece, we will play it in a way so it sounds like the piece, even though it may not be in the right key, or in the same tempo or other "Rules" of music. It is the way he hears it in his mind, and transposes it to the keys. Yes, it is not the correct way, but in no way disrespectful of the original composer...

PLAYiN by ear, means: playing it perfectly according to the notes, but without them!!! So this isnt playing by ears.. its a totally new song, based on the original.. so people CAN be rude, but because of this little miss understanding :)

It's really not bad, only not the correct way of playing piano. adding notes is not a crime, but playing the original notes are the respect to the composer, like this one, if this piece never exist until this video, it's great, but since it's already been played, it will only disturb the melody.

this is a common mistake for beginners and pop piano players,

lol his hands don't look like beginners to me. he's just improvising, and there is no "correct way" of playing piano, if by correct way you mean only playing by sheet music. Improvisation is what continues to drive music and creativity grows of building and shaping the old into new. get over yourself.
