  • Chuck grassely is an idiot. Doctors, not senators, take the hippocratic oath you fucking retard!

you make me ashamed to be a Republican!

  • Legalize Now!

  • Look up US patent # 6630507 Health Dept. has this patent awarded in 2003. Clearly outlines all the medical benefits of the natural compounds found in the cannabis plant! By the way marijuana is a made up name for cannabis. It had to be so in 1937, otherwise the farmers who grew hemp/cannabis would have rioted in opposition of their crops being outlawed !

Imagine a plant that grows is illegal! What Bullshit doublespeak and lies ! look it up and see who LIES!

  • kevin reed is the man green cross is the best in the bay!!!! good people, they are so pro at this! GO GREEN CROSS !!

  • God Bless Commen Sense, fucking brain-dead republicans, I think automatic weapons are more dangerous then some guy getting blazed on his patio, what double standards

  • CANCER CURE = RICK SIMPSON'S HEMP OIL

  • Benzos KILL!

  • we need to have it legal to buy, but illegal to grow!! If I had to pay a tax for it to be legal I would agree not to grow it and sell it!! Just so I could bolw it in a cops face!!LOL

  • There is some medicinal properties in alcohol. If it 70% proof it can be used as an antiseptic in open flesh wounds. Really helpful if you're in the back woods hunting or whatever. Some people use alcohol for stress relief. But the gov't doesn't interfere the citizen unless he drives impaired or attacks another. If it's ok for booze it should be OK for weed. Guns kill people but it legal to posses one in America. Pot smokers want the same rights as Gun owners.

  • Theres no constitutional amendment to smoke pot! Its my right to own a GUN under the 2nd Amendment

  • great stuff!

    thanks

  • 50 points Obama. While I'm not completely friendly with all the adminstrations policies, I would have to say they are like smoke buddies on this one.

  • Randy 's Better !

  • If the first rule of medicine was to do no harm, then half of the pharmaceuticals out there would not be allowed.

  • using medicinal purposes to make weed look good is obsurd. If weed is such a great drug why isn't it in more medications. Its use medicinaly is so limited that it barely deserves any mention at all. Now textiles is a completely different deal. I say we use the shit out of hemp in that area. All these smokers want to be the next "weed Budweiser" and thats just fucking sad. Decriminalize and tell all the smokers to take a look at drug use and see it for what it really is. AN ESCAPE.

  • "If weed is such a great drug why isn't it in more medications"

Because it is an herb and can't be patented. They can't slap a $600 price tag on a bottle of pills.

It was also demonized because it was associated with Mexicans in the Southwest in the 1930's, Jazz, and the 1960's counterculture.

  • ANd what positives does it have now that makes it more than a marginal, limited drug?

  • "Its use medicinaly is so limited that it barely deserves any mention at all"

As I remember, when Canada legalized they released a list of over 100 medicinal uses. We don't recognize them, because when the scientific evidence didn't support the governments "Reefer Madness" opinions they killed the research and made it illegal to research medicinal uses for marijuana.

  • 100 uses out of how many illnesses known to man? everyone makes it sound like its penicilin and its a textile with minor medicinal uses and inebreating affects if used recreationaly. Why should I see it any different?

  • "100 uses out of how many illnesses known to man?"

Most drugs are designed for one illness and have have many bad side effects (including death). Weed has many uses and some not so bad side effects to boot, so what is your point?

  • Some possible identified uses: (not totally inclusive)

Spasticity, Tourettes, Pain, appetite-enhancing (chemo or Alzheimer), Nausea, Vomiting, Glaucoma, Epilepsy, Asthma (cons. THC inhalant), Pruritus, Allergies, Dependency, Withdrawal, sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, dysthymia, psychoses (mixed effect), Autoimmune Diseases (inflammatory or allergic), herpes Inflammation, tinnitus, chronic fatigue syndrome, restless legs syndrome, pain reduction during birth...

  • it can be used to treat the nausea associated with chemotherapy, as a pain killer, to increase the appetites of aids patients and anorexics alike, to treat depression and insomnia and has even been used to help withdrawal from harder drugs like crack cocaine.

but all of this is irrelevant, if a doctor says you need heroin, it's legal, if a doctor says you need cannabis, it's a federal offense, we only want the law to make sense.

  • weed makes me stay up late. And just becuase it has some medicinal use does not mean it is ok to legalize recreationaly. That is retarded to try and make it legal on those prmises when everyone who smokes it is healthy

  • no you're right, the medical applications of a substance isn't sufficient reason to legalize it recreationally, but this video isn't about recreational use is it, and how i feel about recreational use is therefore irrelevant.

you said that the medical applications of cannabis were limited, and i was just pointing out that it has quite a diverse range of applications, some more occured to me after posting, like restricting the growth of bone tumours and treating glaucoma.

  • p.s, if weed makes you stay up late try a heavy indica, they always put me right out, but i am an insomniac and it succeeds where stuff like valium fails so do try driving afterwards, but then, i don't have to tell you that, that's why you puzzle me, why would a responsible user not accept that responsible use is possible?

  • lol, yopu are telling me to smoke weed that makes me tiresd and then if I can't sleep try driving a car afterwards. Then you go on top ask me how I cannot accept people who use responsibly. Seriously freind, this is why weed should never be legal. People who smoke weed don't even know what they mean half the time

  • sorry, when i said "do try driving afterwards" it was a typo, meant to say "don't try....", you can attribute that to the 4 pints of homebrew I've had tonight, if you have to attribute it to anything, like sober people don't suffer from typos. you yourself have just added a "d" to the word "tired"

  • sorry "s" to the word tired, i guess we are both prone to typos.

  • Dumb ass can't even spell, why would we want your opinion. I guess I just "Don't know what I mean" ignorance is bless.

  • The sad thing is that my poor spelling is actually ammo for your little crusade to keep everyone stupid and intoxicated.

  • No the sad thing is that THC increases brain activity and for some odd reason you believe it makes you "stupid". Don't believe everything you hear on t.v. most of it is lies paid for buy big tobacco companies to convince simple minded people like yourself that don't question the facts and just believe it because they have been told it for so long. I believe stupid people will remain stupid, using pot has nothing to do with it.

  • Obama would love to see America stoned 24-7,that way we would'nt notice what a bastard he is.

  • With a name like Grassley, you'd think he'd be for it.

  • Hi, I'm here for my prescription of medical marijuana cookies.

  • SUPPORT THE IOWA GLOBAL MARIJUANA MARCH 2009- MAY 2 HIGH NOON DES MOINES IA

IOWA STATE CAPITOL(west steps) BE PART OF OVER 200+ CITIES WORLDWIDE

Iowans a new sun has dawned over a new Iowa, thank you to all who supported IOWA-SF293

  • That comment was a joke. I wasn't happy with many things that he did..like the 1st bailout but Obama is dangerously worse. Get yourself ready!

  • YouTube search: Rev Ray Green KCCI SF293

  • omg i love marijuana. i hope this shit keeps on going and going foreverrrrr!

  • Get on your knees for Obama schitzo! You sound like you enjoy that type of thing!

  • Great video, Eric Holder is awesome.

  • Didn't (Gr)Assley say AIG execs should commit suicide?

A joke from David Letterman; George Bush is going to write a book on his 12 most difficult decisions... It's called 0 for 12.

  • If we're gonna adhere to the do no harm thing we better get rid of crosswalks. Thousands legitimately killed every year in the "white zone."

And as for pot, I've partook, partaken and partindian for nearly 17 yrs now and it hasn't affected me in the ah, um... Dang fluoride in the drinking water!

Praise Mary Jane for Grandmaster Ohmeister!

  • OOPS! Sorry captkirk999. Looks like I am repeating your comment. Oh well repetition may be a good thing here.

  • COME ON CHUCK GRASSLEY! The first rule of medicine, FIRST DO NO HARM? Have you looked at the side effects of PHARMACEUTICALS lately? They are RESPONSIBLE FOR THOUSANDS OF DEATHS per year! CANNABIS... NONE!

  • Things are looking good. Makes me want to go and smoke this joint I just rolled. Hey, it's the weekend, why not?

  • i'd rather have patients smoking pot than being put on narcotics

  • "lazy ass stoner hippies"

That is just an ignorant statement. Not all pot smokers are lazy hippies. It is definately a portion of the population that smokes, but not as big a proportion as you think.

Many very successful people have or do smoke. Do you really believe that is the first time Phelps smoked? Come on, he went to Michigan.

The only reason more professionals don't do it is because they can get fired, not because it "destroys their potential".

  • what an idiot

  • It's about time. Next step is to legalize it and put an end to this farce.

  • hazzah!

  • Good. Keep all the liberals high and stupider so we can get our country back on track.!

  • yes good job stupider sure lol fuc kin hypocrit

  • you're truly stupid

  • You're truly an asshole! Fuck you uppbittoolate!

  • you want me to fuck you? sure. but i get to pick the hole. deal?

  • Idiot! No I don't sleep with transvestite mental cases like you!

  • transvestite mental case? that's a hard sell. but anyways, i'd love to fuck you... in every hole. whadayasay?

  • good news

  • What better way to tell the masses to forget about the economic depression they are in!

  • We need a ' Joint Session ' of Congress to finally legalize it .

  • SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY

  • The only reason it was made illegal in the first place was to get the mexican workers in the south to stop getting high and lazy.

    Check out the history.

  • gotta link?

  • It was not because they were "high and lazy" but because they were needed during the "Roaring 20's" and unwanted after the Depression hit.

  • The policy should encourage intoxicant free life. It shouldn't be reactive against or tolerant about drug use, it should be respectful and talk about the right values for healthy and happy persons.

  • "Free the Weed!... or you dont get my vote! "

  • GOD IS GOING TO GET YOU FOR THIS!

  • you're serious?

  • What the hell did he say to warrant censoring?

  • he said that people caught with weed should get 5yr minimum sentences. lol

  • Yeah, that'll solve our problems.

  • 1st do no harm, please the FDA allows 250,000 people to die each year from the harmful effects of prescription medication taken either as directed or prescribed incorrectly by medical doctors. I don't know the stats, but how many people die from an overdose of weed? Is it an epidemic? Are Cigarettes and Booze safer? Our government has it's priorities mixed up. Kill the weed, let's bailout the bankers and AIG with trillion of fiat dollars.

  • Glad you can see a lie when it is evident.

  • legalize!

  • "First do no harm." Remind me again how marijuana harms people?

  • That was my thought. I understand that putting smoke in your lungs harms them. But, I have first hand seen the damage from chemo and strong narcotics. I vote to legalize it. even though I haven't smoked since the 80's.

  • I also would vote to legalize it, despite the fact that I never plan to smoke it. Cigarets are far worse for your body and others, and yet it's legal. Why not marijuana?

  • That stuff used to grow almost everywhere in the united states. I wonder if its an important part of nature for us to have marijuana.

Can anyone make a realistic argument for why marijuana should be illegal?

  • I can:

    w w w.youtube.c o m/watch?v=QZdhcNegZgU

[remove the spaxes from the link to make it properly execute]

  • I believe the gentlemen asked for a realistic argument sir. If this film is the only reason you have for making marijuana illegal, then you're more than just a little slow.

  • Back on track? Oh, you must be speaking of the good old days of Duyba. Yeah I sure do miss those terrorist attacks, the anthrax letters, the illegal wars, the secret prisons, the torture and rap of innocent civilians. I sure do miss the crashing of the stock market, the wire tapping of Americans, the pissing on the Constitution by the Bush Administration. God how I wish those good old days would just return to us and never again leave. Oh baby Jesus make it so....

  • The newest argument added to the mix is the economic impact. A Harvard economics professor estimated that the US could make or save 77 billion dollars a year by legalizing marijuana.

  • That is added to the fact that it:

    - You can't overdose

    - Is not addictive

    - Could replace many drugs including sleep meds and nausia medication that is either potentially lethal or addictive

    - Is the only illegal drug that the brain is specifically designed to absorb

    - Is less dangerous and less destructive than alcohol or nicotine

    - Is would take billions of dollars of revenue out of the hands of violent drug dealers and cartels

    Need I continue...

  • YES!!!!! CONTINUE!!!!!

  • Okay

    - evidence of pot use can be found as early as the 3rd millennium BC

    - pot was made illicit as a tool to prosecute and deport Mexicans in Texas in the 1930's and enforcement was renewed when it became associated with the 1960's counterculture. The prohibition of marijuana is political.

    - Canabanoids are naturally produced in the human body

    - The idea that pot is a "gateway drug" is bull

    - The FDA even approved use of medicinal pot in the past (they say that concen. THC is more effective)

  • -Lessens effects of nausea from chemotherapy by enhancing appetite naturally.

-Produces paper that is easier to synthesize and much more biodegradable.

-Used at one time as a fertilzer, which can be done again.

-The USS CONSTITUTION's sales and rope were HEMP.

-Our Constitution was written on HEMP paper.

-President Washington grew HEMP on his plantation. Jefferson as well.

  • Yes, ok. You've got all of that. But what about the government docu-drama "Reefer Madness" that I linked to above? Shouldn't that outweigh all of the benefits? You can go crazy ya know if you smoke that devil weed...

  • Hells bells, we need mandatory federal sentences for anyone whom smokes the Devil's Weed! They can turn into monkey raping shit eaters!

We must protect the innocent citizenry!

  • Oh you are soooo wise katey! Yes, yes - we need to protect the innocent citizenry from the vile reefer madness that pervades our society. Give all those evil little reefer suckers life, throw away the key! Save the children!!!

  • To hell with the children, SAVE THE MONKEYS!

  • what the fuck is "hells bells"? is that datura?

  • @KripDrip

    AC/DC.

  • Are you kidding?

  • Free the Weed!... or you dont get my vote!

  • The people need to unite

  • Regarization iz cereal bizniz

  • awesome !

  • Now, let the states decide on decriminalization!!

  • i love my green<3<3

  • Legalize it!

Across the board, recreational and medicinal.

  • there's no law, just things that chuck norris ALLOWS

  • Will he allow this law to pass?

  • aye

  • Its not a law, it is an Executive Order. It originated in the executive branch and doesn't have to be passed by the legislature. As of now, the DEA doesn't arrest distributes with a state business license. Score one for state regulation of intrastate commerce.

  • chuck norris is 'that' guy

  • I am far more interested in seeing hemp being allowed back into production. Hemp is why Marijuana is still illegal, not the other way around. Big oil, DuPont and the soft wood and cotton industries are terrified of hemp, it would deeply cut into all of their profit margins, but it could go a long way towards saving our economy and helping the environment.

  • It would also cut deeply into Big Pharm's pockets also. They won't be able to sell their post-chemo nausea meds for $300 a pop either. Not to mention the dent it would put in the sales of sleeping medications and glaucoma meds which run from $150 to over $800.

Pharmaceuticals could make their own THC tabs, but they can't control the market, because it is an herbal extract.

  • Let's not forget the anti-depressant market. The Indicas that are now the crop of choice aren't good for that, but the Sativas are wonderful for combating depression. When I was young, no one suffered from "couch lock". Everyone got goofy and had fun while buzzed.

  • Oh, totally. Hemp is the way and the light. Producing a grade of oil that last longer than kerosene.

Not to mention the tobacco, alcohol, and pharmaceutical companies.

  • Damn but it is good to see a mass awakening! Speak out and speak out LOUD! Don't let those monkey rapers twist it (LOL) to seem like all anyone who pushes for hemp is only looking to back door weed into legality. That would be a decent side effect, but I see hemp as a very possible economy saver! Anything that could unplug us from the oil pimps should be taken extremely seriously!

  • Until the oil pimps cheapen their services and trick out their product for all the little children to afford.

They might be greedy little pimps but more than willing to cheapen it all, so the jons can fill their Escalades and tickle their Hummers.

  • Just legalize it damn it. Get us out of this depression with those Mary Jane Tax dollars.

  • About damn time. And Chuck Grassley is a moron.

  • you took the words right out of my mouth

  • grassley made a fool himself too. that's not the 1st rule of medicine. the 1st rule is to actually honor your instructors & parents. he's a dirtbag. BUT, if nebraska wasn't so harsh about weed iowa didn't share such a broad border with it, he'd be all for it. they don't want people to even grow their own. wtf is happening in this world?

  • nice
