And, they claim they inherited the islands from Spain but in 1816 when Arg. became independent, Spain itself had nobody on the islands. And later on the Spaniards visited the islands and there was a gun salute ceremony, with Spaniard officers saluting the British flag - an unmistakable act of Spaniard recognition of British sovereignty.

They can keep their culture, their language, their religion, their traditions, their side of their streets, their hard earned british passports and so on. But sovereignity must be discussed between the UK and Argentina. This is not imposed by Argentina. It is what the UN has been urging since the 60s. But the UK kept shamelessly refusing and playing blind even if more than half a century passed already!
Only because the UK holds a permanent seat at the UN Security Council and is part of G8...

It is the UN - not Argentina - that says a colony is a territory where the inhabitants are distinct ethnically and culturally from the administering country. Hence the islands weren't a colony. Yet in 1850 both countries signed a friendship treaty which said all pending issues were settled and the islands weren't mentioned by the Arg Congress until 1941, when that fascist pro-Axis Arg govt began mass propaganda about how the islands were Argentine and stolen. It's seared into their identity.

The UN Decolonization Committee today adopted a consensus resolution reiterating that the way to end the “special and particular” colonial situation in Malvinas is through peaceful, negotiated settlement of the sovereignty dispute between Argentina and the UK. By the terms of the text, introduced by Chile’s representative, the Committee regretted that, despite widespread international support for negotiations, longstanding General Assembly resolutions on that question hadn't been implemented.

As much as I know that the Falklands are British ive had enough of the Argentineans bitching about how they own the islands.
So ive made a peaceful solution - Argentina get 25% of the oil we get from around the falkland islands if they accept the fact that the falklands are British. Its a take it or leave it offer and if they refuse then we will still control the islands.
