  • 1:34 whats that song from?

  • At 0:49 I can read "made in korea" just below the serial number. I got the same guitar, also Korean. Since I am a new Gretsch user the question is: Is the korean G5122 so different compared to the american one??? I mean the quality of the sound. Or is it just about the volumes, tones, made of another material?... personally I find the sound of my korean G5122 fantastic! Anyone can reply?

  • @JazzNbossa I do believe the Korean ones don't use the TV Jones pickups, which the 6122 uses. I may be wrong tho. The woods may be different too. But frankly I like Korean-made one. According to the guy who runs the Rock Inn, there's no real difference in performance other than the pickups, and in fact the Korean ones are pretty sturdy too.

  • how god is this guitar for alternative rock...??

  • I'd love to play this guitar threw a boosted marshall plexi !

  • Does this have alot of reverb on?

  • Beautiful guitar!

  • how does the walnut look in person? in pictures is looks good, on this video it looks maroon.

  • i'm usin this one for playin indie rock n stuff like that ;) sounds pretty amazing :)

  • arghhhh, can't decide - gretsch 5120, or gretsch 5122

  • @scrubs21 ahaha me too!!

  • damn, i just can't stand those clear pickguards

    sorry everyone

    but a kool guitar.

  • @prophetdude2

Got to admit they are rather awful...

  • Hi cartyuiop,

I'm in a crossroad between a G5120 and this one. Since you have it please tell me your toughts about the g5122, pickups, wood, construction, and a general overview about this guitar.

    Regards from Lisbon, Portugal

  • does anyone know how much it costs?is it different from the normal 5122?

  • im having serious guitar regret i bought the epiphone sheraton 2 cus it was $100 cheaper now i really really want one of these.

  • What amp you were playing thru ? Pls !!!!

  • how does this guitar sounds with a little distortion or overdrive¿?

  • @dinkymau fuckin great. big thick sounds, strong leads.

  • what lead were you doing on the bridge position

  • What amp was he playing through?

  • what is the last riff called?

  • @XRockxxStarX It's from The Beatles. "Honey Don't".

  • Actually The Beatles did record that song, but It was Carl Perkins who wrote that song. The Beatles were inspired by Carl Perkins, especially George Harrison.

  • are these models available in left handed????

  • is there a difference in sound between the 5122 and 5120?

  • @TheSchoolsux345 not really noticeably. It's just the cutaway which changes a TINY TINY TINY amount of sound that to almost any one (including me) is completely unnoticeable.

  • haha. rockabilly specialist...yeh sure.

  • How is he called the model of of casing/case to guard it?

  • "rockabilly specialist"

  • Oh my god.

I got my guitar (that is the exact same model as this one) at this store over the summer. I checked my serial number. I checked this guitar's serial number (on the video), and I realized that this is my guitar. My exact guitar.

  • i dont know if i hate or love that clear pickgaurd

  • Best demo of this guitar online.

  • I also have one myself.. But mine is black, not walnut..

You can take a look at it on G-T.. Lottie

  • You know what? This is the same store that I bought mine at (my gretsch electromatic g5122), and I think that's mine.

  • I gotta get me one of those!!!

  • what a beautiful guitar

  • Great job! Nice rendition of Honey Don't!

  • gretsch hollowbody black with bigsby.

perfect condition 1 year old, only used in one song for recording.

floating bridge was recently adjusted tuned and taking up space.

    500$ usd or a trade.

  • is it the double cutaway like this one in the video?

  • Hey!

I also have that guitar, but I'm kind of dissapointed. Cuz because of the bigsby, I cant fit anything else than 0.09 strings on it, or else the tension would be to strong or sumth.. Any help?

  • a 1" bigsby spring. there like 4 dollars.

  • hollow body are made to put "Fat" strings like 12-48 or 13-54 go visit a luthier to make the change.

  • .0.09 strings is alright?... why does it botter you??...

  • thats strange..i'm fairly sure my 5122 came with 10's stock...

  • Fully hollow right?

  • smile pussy cat

    you play great

  • man thats the guitar i really want either that or a fender jazzmaster

  • I like the chet atkins country gentleman a lot more.

  • its about quadruple zillion times the price as this!

  • you like country best? ;)

  • Thanks for the video. I'm waiting for my 5122 to come in and as I've only actually played the 5120 myself I'm slightly nervous. Is there any way you could do a short non-rockabilly demo? I'm a blues player myself who only gently dips into country/bluegrass and would love to hear a more blues-centric approach

  • Hi I have a 5120 and theres no worries playing blues / rock with it as Im sure there wont be with the 5122.These affordable gretsch guitars are very versatile.

  • im swapping my g5120 i bought yesterday for a g5122 walnut just to look more like george

but its true they both sound amazing for the price

if you got 2200$ USD +++ go for a gentleman but still this guitar can rock!

    it's underrated!

  • why? the g5120 resembles the Tennesean. like the one he used at shea stadium. look for it on youtube

  • lol im getting that one to because of george

  • judging by his shirt, i think its rockabilly or nothin hehehehehe :o)

  • Great! Which amp do you use?
