Donpedrosan - As for the end of your latest comment (What do I propose we do). I have no proposal, I think at this point, global warming is inevitable and it is far far far too late for alternate energy to be developed and then thrity years later put into widespred use. The damage will be permanent. I think we should give it a good college try though, see if man can cheat danger AGAIN, but at this point its clear the figuritive axe of neglect has already been raised

Anyway, if you have the inclination to discuss such hopelessness, as you do - - you may propose to analyse what exactly the problem is (i say its political) - if not what to do

donpedrosan - "... - which may kill us all" I'm not up to start a full blown debate, but I'd like to point out that even if every cubic centimeter of glacier ice were to melt in the blink of an eye, and all this water were to flood and overwhelm coasts across the globe, it would come remotely close to completely wiping humans off the maps. In fact, it wouldn't even completely cover southern florida, only isolate it from the bulk of the penninsula

that is only ONE aspect of the global warming caused by fossil fuel burning. Its not ONLY about glacier melt. (Desertification...intractable temperature rise, flooding extremes... harvest devestation and food shortage. have you checked the price of wheat lately?) Maybe it won't "kill everyone" (in the first wave) .....just a few billion.

For instance, central africa wont even notice in the slightest. none of the reprecussions affect them whatsoever, they dont even trade with most other nations, itll just be like any other day for them. im not saying it wont seriously impend on the progress on mankind or wipeout much of civilization, im saying it wont wipe us out entirely

donpedrosan - I'm sorry, looking back at my last comment I didn't make my message blunt enough, I believed you were capable of understanding this without second digestion: I am not ignoring global warming or its risks, nor am I defending Bush although I'm a conservative partisan, what I AM saying is that global warming will not drive man to his extinction. Thats it. Dont look any further. Not in denial or dismissing scientific fact, just correcting the statement tht it will lead us all to peril.
