Russell Brand and Jonathon Ross, another famous UK TV personality, then made lewd phone calls to Andrew Sachs, left on his answerphone, on Jonathon's radio show. They are both very highly paid UK celebs and the radio show in questionn was recorded so could have been (though thankfully wasn't) edited. Continued .

The real issue here though is because the network on which the radio broadcast was made, the BBC, is funded through a license that everyone in the UK who owns a TV set has to pay (1 license per household, not 1 per TV set), straight from the TV owner to the BBC, it doesn't go to the government, which is why Nigel is wrong when taxpayers money is being "wasted" on this. It's not a tax because it doesn't go to the government, and you only pay it if you own a TV set.
