Great job, man. Really love the sound of your kit and the cymbals. I have a Tama Rockstar with *no* cymbals besides a crappy borrowed Pearl entry-level hi-hat. Need to tune that set, but it's hard. :/
How long have you been playing man? What do you do for regular practice? I try to play at least an hour a day. Right now I just play along to songs.. Rage Against The Machine and stuff.. I'm still a beginner. :)
well i have been playing for ten yrs now. for regular practice, i suggest one main thing that has helped me alot... get a drum pad and a metronome. vater makes a good drum pad u can get in guitar center.(u wanna get the soft head if u get that) what ill do is ill just mess around on it at different speeds. especially doing 16th noes with one hand at a speed to warm me up and work on my chops. when i get on the kit i usually mess around a bit with songs ive heard and
10 years, huh? How old are you? I actually use my mousepad as a drumpad on the moment, hehe. I did followed some practice tips from Derek Roddy's videos. They're intended to increase speed and endurance.. it's basically four alternating measures of eight and sixteenth notes.
I also do rudiments, but not as much as I should. I think I should do at least half an hour a day. 10 minutes would even be a great start.
Thanks for the tips, man. If you have any more .. let me know. Appreciate it.
one other thing u can do is buy a thick pair of sticks, like 2b's or marching sticks.. if u practice with those, ull find when u put regular sticks in ur hand ur gonna go flying
hey thanks bro. ive been playing for about ten yrs now. when im on a kit, i preferably warm up with straight double bass in 16th notes and then pick a song i know well and record it lol
i would suggest getting a metronome and a drum pad (vater makes a good drum pad u can get at guitar center, but u wanna get the soft head version, ull c what i mean when u get one lol) and what ill do to work on my chops is to play 16th notes with one hand at a speed and constantly get faster each time i do it
