@ereebos It's because of his Japanese accent. English is actually a widespread subject taught in Japanese schools. They make their best effort to pronounce the words correctly. Cut them a break them a break dude at least they're trying.
@ereebos Once you become a brilliant artist like Cornelius, you can start having comments about him. Go fuck yourself, you stupid moron fuckwhit.Read books.
hipsters shut the fuck up thom yorke is good you just don't like him because he's popular. other people shut the fuck up cornelius is good too in his own right.
whoa. what the fuck. i just read someones is compering cornelius to radiohead/thom yorke. WHAT THE FUCK. people, this is why wikipedia and the whole internet is dangerous.
music happens. it does in all the levels/ cultures we do or dont know. it just happens we now have youtube, but come on...
Haha I thought I was the only one who got turned onto Cornelius from Beck. They're so similar, it's amazing. Mainly just on Fantasma though. He forayed into more experimental territory as his career progressed to now.
Cornelius is one of my favorite artists! if any fans of his his here like to explore creative electroacoustic music, i would say that you may enjoy my own music!
google Ishkabum to listen to my stuff, i have three of my albums available to be streamed in full for free on my website. (modern compositions a la glitch hop / dream pop)
Why are people comparing Thom Yorke and Cornelius? Comparing elephants and assholes would be a more logical debate. If Cornelius started singing like Thom Yorke, it would suck. If Thom Yorke started singing like Cornelius it would suck just as hard. The fact that they are different is what makes music worth listening to.
@udderhippo I absolutely love both of them, but the only connection I could possibly see is equal intensity of creativity and sensitivity. For the rest, yeah, about as much polar opposites as I can think of.
I don't understand, are you being sarcastic or do you seriously believe that thom york has no talent? Cornelius is great and all but radiohead has genius level talent.

I love Cornelius but Thom Yorke beats the shit of Cornelius's Brain Wilson/My Bloody Valentine shtick. I mean, seriously? A hack? Dude, Thom Yorke and Radiohead are musical geniuses.
Well I'm just replying to robinstigator about how Thom Yorke isn't a hack. At least in my opinion he isn't. You're right, they're both musical geniuses but what I meant by the whole "shtick" comment was that, I mean, come on....Thom Yorke is better IMO. I do think Cornelius is a musical genius too, though.
Okay I'd say they are a "bit" more creative. Let's talk about talent though. People who can sing like cornelius are a dime a dozen. Nothing special whatsoever. Thom Yorke's voice is very unique. Plus he is constantly strumming intricate guitar parts over his insane vocal melodies. Real drumming > digital drumming any day of the week. I mean don't get me wrong, I like digital drumming but radiohead has a very skillful drummer whereas cornelius has a very mediocre drummer.
"Talent doesn't make music more exciting" is such a ignorant statement. Yeah dude, who cares about talent when you can just use fruity loop samples. I mean I'd rather watch a laptop play a beat for me over a real drummer. LMAO get real dude.
A lot of guitarists can play their guitars really fast. Doesn't necessarily mean their music is any good. And I really don't care what medium is used to produce a sound, as long as I like it.
Anyway, shitty irrelevant argument. This song is pretty cool huh.
not to mention Radiohead just rips off Bjork and Richard D James amongst other artists. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy some of their music however I think the media capitalizes off of the ignorance of the listener who thinks what bands like Tool, Radiohead, and Mars Volta are "genius" and ground breaking. If the youth ever listens to bands like Crimsons, or Zeppelin they won't put these bands on such a high pedestal. Which is not to say its not possible to still enjoy the music.
Fantasma (the album this song was taken from) is incredible. It seems to have practically come out of nowhere. Cornelius started out (and is probably more well known to the average person in Japan) for being a member of this slightly better than average Pizzicato 5-inspired J-pop group called Flipper's Guitar in the early 90's. Even his 1st solo album (The First Question Award) is relatively MOR and sounds almost nothing like this. Amazing stuff.
clowezra... I guess you heard her version first. I like aira's version as well... but this is Cornelius... he can not be defeated... This was one of the first Cornelius songs I ever heard... it was epic then... its epic now.. its epic on his new live dvd....

Cornelius is way more creative than Radiohead. They're just a boring alt rock band with mild experimentation.
