Gracias por lo comentarios...no nunca enjaulados le...a bello para eso.

  • What a great bird…at my old place I had a pair of kookaburras that would come and hand feed like that, each year they would bring their young when they were brave enough.

  • @XxXMidnightblackXxX

Same scenario here, and where was your old place?

  • @Bacaz27 Belgrave.

  • Next year they brought their babies! I can also hear the currawong, his song is pretty ugly :) At least I remember the magpie song being more melodious. or am I wrong?

  • @ozsfi Hi and thanks for your comments, yep a little wrong is a magpie, they often wait around for any scraps, sometimes attack the kookaburras too..not a nice bird!

  • People mean well, but it's too easy to over feed a bird. I used to put a feeder out in the winter and I'd sometimes see dead birds around it. Then one night I had a vision of a bird in a straight jacket and feces shot out of his butt. I woke up and realized that those birds were dying because they were eating way more food than their digestive systems could handle. So they died painful deaths!

If you want to do something wonderful for birds, put a big glass bowl of clean water out ever day...!

  • @guyNbluejeans

Thanks for your comments yep put out clean water every day too,and been over 4 yrs now since feeding started,so no harm done.

  • If you haven't been to Australia, this happens a lot. Magpies, kookaburras, lorikeets and crows if you're lucky will often visit you on your back verandah and you can chat with them and give them food if you want. Currawongs are friggin stupid but

  • That is so cool you are very lucky they are incredible creatures.

  • ahhhhhh!

    its sooooooo cute!

  • lol 0:32

  • What a tame bird! How did it start coming to you?

  • There were several of them always flying about, and landing in the trees, so started throwing bits of meat on to the lawn , and they would fly doen and pick up.......over several weeks would throw the bits closer to the house...then eventually placed some meat on the veranda, and they picked that up too.

Weeks went by and they now let me hand feed them , all a matter of trust I suppose.

  • i love Kookaburras.

  • Wow, these guys are cute. They have such big heads! They look like cartoon characters. Bet they are smart too, seeing as they eat meat, and hence, have to hunt.

  • yep they are. sometimes even 3 or more will cooperate if they're trying to kill one of the bigger snakes.

  • Whooo-ho, really Ivan?

Now that would be a vid to see.

  • That is so cool. I could watch that bird all day lol.

  • Cheers minesapint123, thanks for the comment, by the way is that pint Guinness???

  • It is and the pelicans seem to like it. I wouldnt give any to your Kookaburra though. ;D Has it got a name?

  • OH yes very imaginative too...Kookie

  • That bird is freaking adorable!! i want one T.T!!!

  • Thanks for the comment, if stand on your veranda and make a kookaburra bird call , one might? just land on your head, who knows??

  • I hear a magpie in the background too!

  • Yep sure do , they usually hang around waiting for any scraps...thanks for the comment.

  • Beautiful bird, did not know! I recorded the video in my PC!

  • your hand feeding the hot dog theif =p

  • aww so cute

  • I see the Kingfisher resemblance. They also remind me of the Abbysinian roller native to West Africa.

  • lol i like how he refuses the 3rd piece, like.. naw i dont want it.. then he scoffs at the guy

  • He/ she is wonderful! Are they related to Kingfishers? We have them here in Michigan and they sound similar! Weeeee! ^_^

  • Hi , Yes they are part of the Kingfisher family, but mainly live on small rodents and snakes etc for food, thanks for your comments, have a nice day.

  • They are a Kingfisher, actually, as far as I am aware they are the only Kingfisher that has adapted so that they don't fish anymore! They live on rodents, snakes, lizards, insects and eggs. Also, they turn up wherever people picnic or camp in the bush. A wild one took a bread roll out of my hand one day while we were camping, just as I had taken a bite...

  • That is amazing! None of our Kingfisher here are that bold! But they are a joy to watch out on the river. I especially adore their cries as they sound like they're laughing. They don't sound as cool as a Kookaburra, but they are neat all the same! Thanks dude!

  • CUTE... lol love it :P

  • Thanks for your kind comments...be safe

  • you too

  • lol good video

  • LOL with the 2nd peice he's like .."....whats this? you give me a large one and NOW you give me a smaller one? whattaya take me for mate?!?...JEEZ,.. "

  • Ahhh very funny, thanks for the comment..LOL

  • hey where abouts is this

  • Melbourne Australia.

  • love Kookaburras they're so awesome!!

  • Cute! Have you named it?

I get two squirrels for their daily peanut buttered bread. I named them Peanut Butter And Jelly!

  • Thanks for the comments, I have not named him but the grandchildren call him Kookie, not very original, but they like it LOL

  • LOL. I think it's cuuuuute. :)

  • Wow that's just so neat to watch, thanks!

  • Thanks searella for the nice comments, much appreciated

  • We have one that my dad feeds every night. They're great creatures. My favorite thing is watching them bang the food against the tree to see if it's got bones or not.

  • Thanks Gazbo wondered why they did that , (banging)mine do it on the veranda rail...

    Cheers

  • they do that jst in case their preys have bones. they smash all the bones up before swallowing them, so that digestion is easier.

  • Thought as much , thanks for the info.

  • What sort of meat do you feed them..?

  • was that meat? it looked like gummy worms to me! lol

  • What will happen when you stop feeding them?

  • Thanks for your comments, probably will have to go back to catching mice and small snakes and lizards etc.....but when having visitors the children love feeding him, so will keep it up for awhile.

  • Thanks Gazbo, I wondered why they did that, they do the same thing (Banging) on veranda rail.

  • lol so cute give it smth cheaper xD

  • He stands aside a little bit: "No no, just leave it there, please"... Lol

  • Thanks for your comments, he now brings three of his family everyday, is costing me a fortune...LOL

  • That's totally amazing. So what were you feeding it? looks like beef. Can you not just buy wild bird seed there and feed them that?

or at least something cheaper than meat?? LOL!

  • Thanks for the comment, they don`t eat bird seed, only meat and fish...get stir fry meat when on special at the supermarket, only a few dollars for a couple of weeks

  • lol, i can hear the Magpie at the end, and seen him in the corner, he was like wats goin on here, free food or wat. hehehe
