  • nice tank. who wants to look at an M1A1abram tank all day?

  • The German guns were better than the larger Soviet 122mm because they had a high muzzle velocity which made them excellent armour penatraters.

The Panthers 75mm was equal to the Tigers dreaded 88mm in terms of armour penatration.

The Panther was also more mobile (and faster) than the larger Tigers.

They say that Tigers and King Tigers were the ideal tank for defending a position from an enemy attack.

Perhaps then, the Panther was the ideal tank to assault a position held by the enemy?

  • the problem is that while the panther had sloped armour, it wasn't as thick as the tigers armour (on the sides mainly), so i would say that the panther would be great as an advancing tank, but i wouldn't use it to assault much. it is my fav ww2 tank, but i need to be honest.

  • Splendid ! What a sound

  • metube is correct - the IS-2 was easy prey for the Panther ... the Tiger II as well, of course. The filthy communist tanks had guns of greater caliber, but they were inferior ballistically. The tanks of the communist scum also had sub-standard armor.

The Panther was the best MBT of the Second World War.

  • @Odessa45 i agree but your communist scum comments suggests that you may have some bias. I am an American who doesn't like communism at all the policies are corrupt and allow for no freedoms. Not all communist are scum, but most are. the soviet T-34 was a tank designed for large numbers, the panther was a quality weapon surpassing most its opposition. Remember Germany in WWII was Quality over Quantity (Tanks and Mechanized armor wise)

  • @Mig25foxhound LOL - yeah, I'm biased.

  • ill try and keep it simple .The joseph stalin was heavy mbt, designed to kill german tanks..The heavy tank was designed with thick armour to counter the German 88 mm guns, and a gun that was effective against the new German Tiger and Panther tanks. The IS-2 was put into service in April 1944,

  • Just remember, that due to material shortages, the steel armour of the later war tanks of the germans were of a poorer quality. The 88L71 was superior to the 122, and the 128mm even more so. All of which including the 75L70 could penetrate even the JS3 at close to 1000m.

  • @metube1120

The Soviets preferred a larger calibre main gun for firing HE shells.

  • JagdPanther was the 2nd best then. had all the characteristics of the said panther. but armed with a long barreled 88mm gun. team that up with some re-inforced Panzer Iv's or panthers - and theres an army that cannot be beaten.

  • The Panzerkampfwagen V Panther was the best tank of WWII, could kill any allied tank in 1 hit, could go up to speeds around 43mph and had 110mm Armor, greater then that of the Tiger, only tanks that could penetrate this armor was a T-34/85, IS2, M4 Sherman Firefly, and M26 Pershing. Every other tank would take up to 10 hits, very close range, or would just bounce off.

  • only if hit from the front. if hit from the side it was still vulnerable to less powerfully armed tanks then the ones that you mentioned. Steel panthers world at war!

  • actually the russian Joseph Stalin could easily batch the panther Tiger and King Tiger i think the later models were issused with a 122mm gun

  • Wth are you talkin about? Please rephrase this "sentence" so I, even We can understand.

  • funny, when you go to these shows and tanks move around, a m4 or t34 people kinda look and then go about thier business, a tiger or panther move and everyone just stops and stares.

  • WOW! That sounds like the best running German WW2 Panzer still existent! Congrats to whomever restored this one and got in such magnificent running condition!

  • This is great.

Is this the one having newly made it?Or, is it the one made in World War?
