We should not be so critical of this episode. It may not represent the most captivating entertainment of the series, but it does present a pair of illuminating truths: the other entities of the universe, known and unknown, may not be as impenetrable and awesome as we assume, and murder, even to the goofy little green men, is still ugly.
Gotta say, I do not mind ads if i can see this great stuff like in the old days - off the antennae. Except better. On a windy day, reception was a b***h. ;-} Seriously though. the original Outer Limits has always been one of the most intelligent on TV. Glad to see it available here. This way a younger generation can enjoy it as well. Thanks y'all.
Part 5: can try to fool the public and make a few bucks.
The ending was completely fucked up. So a really smart alien interfered with an event and saved a guys like and risked blowing up the entire fucking universe and the authorities were dumb enough not to give him a warning the second time. WTF!!??
Any way, this was like complete shit. I was patient enough to see through the whole thing and this is wat I had to say. May be cool for 10 yr olds but not up.
Part 4: the abc's of earth and humans before taking up a project on earth. I mean how the hell can he come down to earth to and expect to find the answer to the mysterious ways of murder in humans if he doesn't even know how a human looks like (the fact that he himself looks like a human is ironical). This is typical really old crappy sci-fi authors/writers. Look at legends like asimov, they never write such crap. U know why? Because they use common sense and not make up crap so that they
Part 3: because, he's not like some super fast creature who can think or act real fast (he's non- super fast ability (if you can call that) is shown when he's not fast enough to observe the bullet) and its not like he would have done something great if he had saved that 11 micro seconds. The next stupidity is shown when he starts describing a human who walks into the pawn shop. WTF!!? I mean he himself looks human and i bet an intelligent creature like him, would have at least learn't the abcs
Part 2: Ok, forget about the technology, but couldn't they come up with better jargons? i mean all they did was use a bunch of scientific terms like electrons and neutrons and what ever.
The role of that martian guy was very silly. The scientists of earth today are way way better at giving a scientific explanation about the bio chemical reactions (or whatever) than him.
Ok, even if I ignore this fact, the stupidity of the character is displayed when he says 11 micro second was longer. This is
part 1: With all due respect to the creators producers, directors, etc. of this show, I must say that it doesn't stand a chance in the 21st century (and perhaps even the 90s).
Back in 60s this might have been a great show but now there are far more better than these and besides there are many things that seem "silly" in this show.
First of all, the makers of the show did not have a far insight to the technological development in the decades to come. My ipod is better than those box like machines
I don't get it. In the end, she still doesn't shoot him, she shoots a cigarette case. How does this prevent the catastrophe foretold by the Mars guy in his instructions to the Mars guys doing the experiment? It would have been hilarious and it would have made sense if she had shot his balls off! He would live, they would marry, but no kids; therefore, no catastrophe!
@rtmorphine I realize this was early 1964, but if anyone could pull it off, it would be either Rod Serling & The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits. Carroll O'Connor does an awesome job!
Grace Lee was hot looking here, and even hotter in Star Trek. Interesting coincidence that Grace Lee was on Outer Limits which was a SyFy and Bill Shatner on the Twilight Zone which was SyFy. I guess that they were "destined" to meet on another SyFy, Star Trek.
@1bichon1 "SyFy", is what Sci Fi Channel re branded to about a year ago... it has no meaning, and is both a stupid decision, and a horrible idea. Ergo, saying "SyFy" when you are referencing Sciene Fiction, or "Sci Fi", you sound like an idiot. Not to say that you are one, but do you see my point? Back on topic...
this is a fantastic episode of The Outer Limits, and I do agree with you.
Brilliant concept, you can see why Gene Roddenberry thought people were ready for Star Trek in 1964.The effects were excellent for the time. This program is one of the first I remember watching as a youngling.
I had no idea Carroll Oconnor was such a great actor. What a departure this is from Archie Bunker..This was back in the days when actors could really act, instead of all the CGI bullshit they spew today...
This show was 51.5 non-commercial minutes per hour in 1964. Current rates are more like 40 show minutes per hour. Commercials will be as long and frequent as people can stand.
It's great fun seeing these old actors early in their careers. I'm pretty sure that Robert Picardo ripped off Barry Morse for his character on Voyager. And seeing the future Archie Bunker being twee is *interesting,* to say the least.
This classic episode of The Outer Limits has 2 well known actors from 2 classic series Barry Morse, from The Fugitive.& later with Space 1999 & Carroll O'Connor, who would later be best known as Archie Bunker on the 70's hit "All In The Family." & it's spinoff Archie Bunker's Place. and later with 'In The Heat of The Night' the series. 2 great talents in one great episode of The Outer Limits.
I had the cassettte (VCR) edition of this episode until I had to get rid of it several years ago as my TV/VCR recorder became permanently inoperable (The VCR section. TV still works fine, but actually on its last legs.)
PLEASE! THIS IDIOT POSTED IT AND I'M SCARED THAT THIS MIGHT REALLY HAPPEN SO DON'T SEND IT TO ANYMORE VIDEOS.
IM NOT TRYING TO ADVERTISE BUT IM SCARED OF WHAT IT SEES in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck!
Way back in 1894, a little girl named Madeline Crothe was skipping through the woods when a mysterious man in black snatched her. He brought her to his house, tourtered her, and starved her to death. Send this to 6 videos in the next 30 min. and you will be safe, but if you don't... at approximately 1: 34 tonight you will wake up to see an aneorexic child holding a bloodied up knife and she will kill you" less
If you're fucked regardless, you may as well enjoy today while you still have it. lol

That is because internet shows are slowly becoming the new Video On Demand.
We watch it instantly, for free, and they have to make money somehow (sponsors).
When sponsors start paying more, and more people are watching shows online The commercials will become more spread out.
How do you think free products make money?
Advertisement is a good business.

The problem some people might be having with audio could stem from the fact that it all seems to be only on the left channel, and not in stereo.
