Ouachita Map Turtle Set-Up Update

its confusing between Ouachita, Sabine, Mississippi... but its an awesome TURTLE

Actually they are really good beginner turtles, they stay fairly small if you get a male (around 5" max for males)

Not much but like I said these aren't beginner turtles and they do need a large enclosure eventually

Male 3 ½ - 5 

Female 5" - 10 ¾

But don't think because there small they can live in a small enclosure they need tons of swimming space, my aquarium is way to small for an adult and I'm in the process of getting a much larger one

Ah I see, yeah females do grow a lot bigger, the one I've got is male I think, he seems to have stopped growing and he has large claws which males have

Yeah, see that big blue unit at the back, that's a filter, and the heater is right under that, it's hard to see in this video but I've moved the aquarium down onto an aquarium stand now so I'll make a better video soon

Yah it is a cool little device I just to tie a rubberband around the tube but I could never get it just right so it will work good!!! Oh really they didnt get any maps in did they have any other turtles? Were you planning on getting another map

Oh cool lucky for you yah they come in handy and easy to control the air flow see with the dino head I had to slow it down much as possible since the mouth fills up with bubbles and they it opens and loets it out so it worked perfectly!!!

Sweet, I'll let you know if I get one, I actually went back to that big pet store I was telling you about last week (the same on I bought my turtle) and they still haven't got any more maps in since I got the last one in November!

More fake plants will be nice and maybe every now and then you can get really ones for the turtle to eat that is what I do for Banana he loves to eat the plants! Yah for mines to slow the flow of the air that comes out they sell they adjusters that you cut the air tube stick each end of the tube in the hole and there is a thing you can turn that controls the flow of the air

Yeah my dad was telling me about those adjusters, luckilly I go to a college that is right next to a petsmart so I'm gonna look in there

Nice up-date nice to see a vid I like the castle I have a dinsouar hear that I used to have in the tank but the air pump is old so it makes alot of noise I was thinking of maybe getting a 5g pump but Banana away moves the tube and so I have to keep fixing it...lol...But glad your turtle has more swimming space

Yeah I actually had to tie a knot in the pipe because it was flowing so fast that the bubbles were splashing the water like crazy, its flowing steady now however. I need to get a few more fake and live plants now however
