Do I take the shield off? Which bearings would u recommend me cuz I go to skatepark and street skate? Also would I recommend this wheels or should I just stay with rictas
There's a debate about shields... some people claim to like the sound and that they last just as long, but shields are there to prevent dust and particulates from ruining the race and getting gunk in the bearings.
As for mostly street... I'd still say the same thing I guess. Abec ratings are kind of a joke, any good bearing should be good for any terrain. Peace!
I don't know what the best are, but I like a ton... Spitfire reds and blues, Cheapshots, Bones Reds, Bones Swiss, and the list goes on. One of my setups has Bones Swiss 6's in it right now, and I'm pretty impressed with them The other has Spitfire Cheapshots, and they seem to be handling things really well and are pretty damn fast, too. Cheers!
@UltimateCounterHero, abec is the measurement of how "perfectly" round the ball bearing is. 7 would be the most "perfectly" round and 3 wouldn't be as good. like he said, it just depends on which brand they are.
@UltimateCounterHero technically, yes. But in skateboarding it doesn't really matter. Abec ratings really start to matter when the bearing is going at very high speeds (150+mph). I used to ONLY skate Bones Swiss bearings, but after spending 40 bucks a few times, I switched to Bones Reds. Just get those, they are about 15 bucks right now and work fine for PLENTY of people.
Is it better to order a customized board online?Iv'ed done alot of research and I WANT to do streetskating. Or is it just better if i go to local skateshop and ask him i want a durable and good skateboard? Please help
@HellzDeath yeah if you want shit for cheaper, like the boards usualy about 123.00 or cheaper when ur done, instead of buying a board for 50, then trucks for like damn 45, then some 25 or even 15 dollar wheels, it adds up way quiker if u buy it sepratly. So if u must try for a complete. CCS, or skatewarehouse are good and cheap. But DGK boards are strong has shit no lie
i am looking forward to trying them i don't flat spot wheels that much but my friend kills every wheels he gets i don't think he will flat spot these also your reviews are fantastic!
ur cats cool as hell. i wish mine was like that mine is always running from me. lol but you have a cool acsent (or however you spell it) when you say "so"
hey grimcity have you tried the new indy hollow forged trucks the ones that indy ads as super light ive skated tensors and realized i needed to make a change after my baseplate cracked i like light trucks and theeves to me are too expensive so plz reply any other light trucks and finally youre an awsm skater
man i'm only 12 years old and i need a 49mm wheel, and i don't have the card to buy it.... its sooo bad, and my skateboard needs some speed, if you can help reply and my wheels are bigger then the 49mm
I really don't know man, they sent the wheels to me to review and I haven't had any contact since I uploaded the vid back in 2008. I wish I could help you, but I'd have to defer you to them for info like that. Cheers man, your FS 360 vid was really clever!
1- Spits are sold at nearly every shop I've ever been to, and they come in several hardness ratings (aka durometers). They have everything from squishy soft wheels (like the Zip Zinger wheels for Krooked or Softers) but they have a really good all-around 99 duro (a lot of the Classics and pro wheels are 99s). Parkburners are hard but grippy, 99, Streeburners are harder, but not slick. My faves.
2 - I didn''t actually buy the wheels, not sure if they sell 'em at shops.
@winsomelosenone I think it applies to all the wheels, but you'd be better off asking (emailing) the people over there... they only had black and white when this review was made.

The only thing I can say to a new skater is have fun... skills come naturally. Just enjoy rolling, and the more comfort you feel on board the more fun it'll be... meaning the longer you skate the better it gets! Cheers Chris!
@AlrightAlbrights Thanks for watching! One thing I want to make sure not to do is "tell" people what and what not to get... I like just sharing my experience, you know? I respect the fact that different people have different taste, but at least this way folks can see the stuff being used, you know? Cheers and peace!
@101whatspoppin I don't think so, I think they just sent them to me for the review. I haven't talked to anyone over there since right after the review, so you might want to check their site just to be sure... it's linked in the video info, man. Cheers!
I am about to order new wheels but I can't really decide between better and bones stf. I mainly skate street in the summer but park in the winter sometime as well. I haven't really got problems with flatspots yet in my skating career (I've had spitfires, blanks, foundation) I want assurance of slide ability, grip and speed.
What wheels would you recommend me as you're a shop owned and a die hard skater it seems.
I'll accept the title of a die-hard, but I simply help represent our shop, owned by my best friend Kerry (he's in a number of my vids).
Anyway, with flats not being an issue for you, that opens up a lot of doors... STFs are incredibly well made, but they're prone to act slippery on smoother surfaces. That's true with any wheel, but it's really pronounced. The Betters are grippier than STFs, and I felt fine on both diameters I tested. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Spit's F1 Streetburners (cont.)
...I like them so much I did an ad/review on them, at the time of this writing I think it's the second-newest video I have online. They grip when I want them to, slide when I want them to, and have been generally tough as hell in my experience. They're not as slick as STFs, but they're definitely more slideable than Betters.
Having said that, I'm not really one to tell another person what they "should" ride, as we all have different tastes- but hopefully mentioning the characteristics helps!
Are 54mm wheels REALLY big??? I think Im gonna go and buy some 54mm wheels with my Girl 7.81 deck. I don't know if 54mm wheels are big and good or not. Can you comment me back please.....good review too!
Personally I don't think 54's are all that big... in fact I probably ride 54's more now than ever. Sometimes I even bump it up to 56 if I really feel like hauling!
But that's my street/park/trick board... I have some cruisers and a longboard sitting on nearly 70mm wheels, they're beasts! Not so good for a stuntwood though, haha.
what size board were u using when u made this video??? and whats the difference between skinny and fat wheels....my friend told me to get fat wheels because thats what everyone rides...but im just wondering
Well, that's what the company says... I took out some chunks in part 2, but the ones I had didn't flatspot. Having said that, I'm sure a few attempted bluntslides on unpainted concrete would flat any wheel, but at the time of this review (and I guess they still hold to this), if you make 'em flatty, they'll trade in for new ones. I do back the wheels reviewed... the two sets I had were indeed made of some good urethane, I just prefer companies that focus on shop distribution (but I'm a kook).
I told Bandit he just got some props. He flopped over and stared at me, and knowing him, I think he was giving props back to you. He's hard to read sometimes.
i loveeee the ricta electric wheels im not to sure what there called but there so good there amazing for tailslides noseslides and blunt slides. but i am thinking about some of these wheels sometime
does anyone know the difference between the thin narrow wheels and the wider ones??bcaus they just came out with thin ones and dnt know which to order??.
Hey dude just wanna ask cuz i wanna buy a skateboard and i wanna like role far when i just push one time with the skateboard whats best then ? like 52mm ? and some tricks too :)
True, but you need to be careful when doing that if the core of the wheel has a snug fit... if the bearing is seated crooked, pushing in on it with a wrench might hurt the shields. But yeah, if the bearing is seated straight, you can most definitely do that. Thanks for posting kote!
you should have said about the shipping cost world wide mate. I just oredred some and i live in the UK and the shipping to me was $10 which is so cheap compared to other websites. I tried to order a T from the 4star website and they wanted $40 for shipping! so $10 is insane. I will make a review once i got my wheels and skated for a few weeks mate. Will keep you posted dude.
Yeah, no complaints concerning the FKD's... over the years I've ridden several sets and they always come through great, Lately my big kick has been with both Spitfire Streetburner wheels *and* bearings (the Spitfire Reds, though the blues are super good too). Again though, FKD makes for a really good spin. Cheers to ya BIZ! w00t
i hate bones barings, i dont clean bearings at all but still, ive had alot of sealed abec 3's with metal covers that ive rid on dirt jumps and gravel and all that junk and they last longest without bein cleaned imo. Cuz after gripping and rammin bushings in ect im lazy :P
Is it the bearing that does make u roll like if u push u roll far ? is it the bearings ? :)or the wheels i wanna role far with 1 push wich shud i choose
Haha, nah, I'm just like that. Nothing against it (or getting drunk) as long as it isn't coke or heroin or any of that hard crap. As for this, I'm just naturally a goob... moreso when I'm getting tipsy, heh. Cheers!
hey. im pretty new to the skateboarding thing you no.... but im wondering how to make the bearings better greased up or watever to make it go a bit faster. if u can help than please help.

kotekotekitty 2 years ago
True, but you need to be careful when doing that if the core of the wheel has a snug fit... if the bearing is seated crooked, pushing in on it with a wrench might hurt the shields. But yeah, if the bearing is seated straight, you can most definitely do that. Thanks for posting kote!

sir,may i ask...do thy ship to Asia?
techdeckfoundation 2 years ago
you should have said about the shipping cost world wide mate.

Fair point, Fenwick... I didn't have that information though (the wheels were sent in return for a proper review). I hope they work well for you man!

Haha, nah, I'm just like that. Nothing against it (or getting drunk) as long as it isn't coke or heroin or any of that hard crap. As for this, I'm just naturally a goob... moreso when I'm getting tipsy, heh. Cheers!
