@lovehack08 Sorry buddy, this laptop is gone. I've had a Toshiba Tecra A8 for 3 years now and it outperforms that HP in every way possible. The power jack is indestructible.

hey i have the same laptop itz just a compaq, and my light used to blink orange like yours, with the battery in it,(it wasn't charging) so i went inside it and looked at the charger port and itz ok, but it didnt charge my battery, i put it back to gether and it worked like it did before i took it apart, after a few months it would even cut on, now i have a dead laptop, and i cant afford a charger

i have a question somewhat reguarding to this, i have HP pavillion laptop that has a charger that isnt working, ive been through 5 charges from hewitt packard (my laptop suppourt) do you have any ideas of though to help me?, anything is appreciated, thanks.

@709671palmer interesting...i had windows 7 trial on mine for awhile with a gig of ram and it ran ok....the system rating was like the very lowest though LOL

its all rite am the one who needs help you can ask questions, yes all the lights go on but it never passes logo screen it just shows that screen and then after that it becomes grey

i have a compaq presario qc60 charger was mssed up bought new one fixed it when i try to boot computer it doesnt go to desktop just like a light grey colour appears

@iTzAlpha1 Does the screen show anything at all? Try looking at it at an angle, the previous charger might've fried the backlight transformer (probably rare, but happened to me)...you might try plugging it into a desktop screen if you have one on hand

@collinsup at first it shows compaq and bottom it says press esc for something and after that screen it just go grey colou doesnt load up, am going to try desktop thing to it

@iTzAlpha1 That's very strange. Do all the lights stay on when it doesn't load? Does it think at all? sorry for all the questions, i'm just bewildered at the strangeness of that.
