  • This video's cool! Then got awkward at 1:16...

  • Impressing! Nice to know that in produktion of Boeing 787 many envirement aspects are concidered. Congratulation!

  • Amazing things happen when Americans and British work together.

  • is pretty!

  • nice wings...

    creative innovations of Boeing designers..

    superb job!

  • MAN

    Gotta love those wings!!!

  • shes beautifull

  • i feel very adventurous today any guys want to have an adventure

  • ya me

  • that is a fine plane that airbus can copy now and sell later at wallmart prices thankx to the european union subsidies

  • OMG I'M SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!! I HATE Airbus, I LOVE Boeing!! Omg congratulations Boeing for FINALLY getting this aircraft off the ground!!!!! I can't wait for it to enter service and Qantas is getting around 50 of them so i'll be in that plane in no time!!

  • GO ROLLS ROYCE!

  • Crazy comment, to love one and hate the other!?!? Both are great, and thankfully each make the other create better aircraft! I think Airbus has a slight upper hand at the mo!

  • best takeoff ever iv'e waited years till the boeing787 takesoff well i only waited 2 years still thats long ive waited more than 9 months maybe

  • This brought a tear to my eye. We've waited so long and it was such a beautiful sight as the aircraft roared down the runway and she transitioned weight from the wheels to the wings. Then she soared into the sky where she belongs. Truly an inspiring moment. This will secure America's place as the world leader in civil aviation for another generation. Airbus is good but nothing else is a Boeing. :)

  • Proud of my dad for being part of the construction of this new project !!!! :D

  • Awesome!! WTG BOEING!!!!!!!

  • sweet !!!!

  • A great day for Boeing and its employees!

  • Congrats Boeing! This means so much to our country.

  • Well done Boeing. Good job!

  • All the people cheering makes this pretty sweet.

  • Not uncommon for first flights. It's a "just in case" move, to mitigate against potential hydraulic failure which might leave the gear in a state other than down-and-locked. Not good to bend up the bird on her very first flight. ;)

  • beautiful first take off ...the best !!!

  • They keep the gear down in case of a problem and they need to land again, bringing the gear up is one of the many initial tests it does during the first flight.

  • Safety precaution in case pilot need to abort and attempt a quick landing

  • Beautifull plane! But just a curiosity, why didn't they retract the landing gear right after take off?
