@thom19671 Yanno, you city folk really don't appreciate heritage. Do you think that coats and hats and scarves magically fell from the sky upon the creation of man??? This is why you are alive today and have all your fancy shit, and this is how us appreciative individuals still live our lives and make money today.
It's sad that people are saying he sucks at skinning. Have you ever thought about the fact that there is a bunch of people watching him and he's probably going slow so that he doesn't screw up? There are people who can skin rats in 30 seconds but what can you learn from that, really? By taking his time, you can see each and every cut he makes.
@Dangerous122112 Although many winters here are that cold, I'm sure this particular one wasn't (I wouldn't have been standing outside video-taping if it were...lol)...not to down play the part about him making it look easy. Ain't no way I could do that.
@elks52 it depends where you live you should check your local fur buyers prices b/c where I am (southern/mid michigan) you only get like 50cents more for skinned than whole
@elks52 Umm... well for muskrat you would slit across the back legs and pull it down to the front legs, pull them through and pretty much cut down to the head and keep pulling/cutting the hide down. ONLY use a knife where you have to. It helps alot in not making holes ;)
Yeah i hunt for coons a lot, i find that the best bait is KFC or watermelon, they can smell it from miles away with their big noses. Once i get em chained up, i hang em from a tree and sell em to southern plantation owners.
A lot of trappers would be more than happy to take them out for you at no charge, different methods can be used to make sure that there is no danger to pets. From what a hear they are good eating as well.
ive thought about doing that because i have so many in my pond the only problem is that when they swim i can only have a shot at their haed and i personly us a 30 06 and a 308 which blows them to pieces. muskrats are ugly though arent they?
You know you shouldnt be talking like that. Not all muskrat fur is only worth $5.00 it very well could be worth $8.00 if it was a well handled muskrat/
man i hate that crap that gooes aorund on here people commenting on how bad and shitty of a job it was and i hate the fucking fact people commenting on how bad trapping is some people rely on it for a source of moeny and its a way of life, anyways great skinning job, barely need a knife for them smaller ones
you are an animal!,I have a shot gun but you are a savage animal!

I don't like eating muskrat, but I will if I have to! It's not very good, but it works if there is nothing else around!
