Stunning visuals, particularly the old film and photographs. It could do with more time though - it's a little rushed...difficult to get the detail and sense of the place. Wonderful video however. Spent a great few days there many years ago..
con't? you see all over the country nothing but half acre garden's kept as grass lawns, what a waist of ground if you have that much ground you should put it to good use
to tipp 1959, i no what you mean but you put people back out on a beutiful island what do they do, they start tearing it apart with their diggers & bulldozers, and building their bunglows & hoseyendas, and not before long it won't look very nice then, unles you brought in a law that no new builds were aloud. just look what's happening all over the country, you should not be aloud to keep a gass lawn bigger than a normal size garden you would get in a town, you see all over the country con't
I Spent A Week There In The Height Of Summer of 1985. We were cut off most of the time so I understand why it is not inhabited full time as it is a very hard life to live there in winter. Still it is a very beautiful place indeed and well worth a visit. WG
i visted the blaskets late last year.its one of most beautful places in ireland.very sad that the people had to leave.when you walk around you get the whole picture as to how hard life must have back then.
i like to think that with more up todate boats life could be bought back to the islands.
