  • Bootleg whisky and Honky Tonks. The twenties looked like mad fun to me.

  • Today we have it all as far as entertainment goes and this INCLUDES the past entertainment. Just today I watched Black Sabbath do Black Sabbath the song on Youtube and was blown away. Now I'm going to sit down at my Wurlitzer electronic theater organ from 1964 and play an early 1930's song called 'I Found a Million Dollar Baby'. We live in carefree times now or horrible times now just like then. It's all how you look at it. Sure I've had hardships & probably more than most, but life is too short

  • The only truly happy music of the modern ages was in the 20s. Especially compared to music from the 1970s to now, which tends to be mundane rhythmically and paranoid and self-absorbed lyrically. Unfortunately it keeps getting worse! Thanks to Youtube to show us what we are now missing in our lives...wild abandon and the creative human spirit!

  • i wannna be part of this dance crew the bobbed hair skirts the age itself so LIBERAL ammaziing:)

  • That's my favorite part is 1:31

  • Lot's of people long to live in a by gone era, but be very careful what you wish for!

The "good ol' days" were not at all good. What seems like carefree and peaceful times was everything but wonderful. People struggled and suffered so much more than they do today. It was still the gilded age.

People back then didn't know any different. If they could have seen 100 years into the future, they might have all jumped off the Grand Canyon. Life back then was NOT a bowl of cherries!

  • LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!!!

  • yes it called the monster mash i think,

  • you must remember that they had high levels of lead in paint hence the dancing!

  • Great dancing. They beat River Dancers hands down, Thank you for sharing this great video Aaron 1912

  • I wish i was born around this time. Life was harder back then but it was worth living!

Nowadays... not so much... Shit youth everywhere, in my country the government robs the poor and sometimes i wander why the cops even go through all the trouble life risking stuff to get the criminals when they receive a crap salary and the whole system is against them... Oh and usually the bad guys are only arrested for a few days, then they are set free again.... even the worst cases...

  • I wanna see people 90 years from now looking at footage of us doing the ChaCha Slide & Electric Slide lmao

  • Cute!

  • i love this video. too bad im growing up in this shitty generation. sure would've love to grow up during this time. during the good old days. its weird how much the world has changed since then. and for the worse in my opinion. people say we have progessed so much since then. i say that back then america was a great country. and now it has just gone to shit. wish we could go back to the good old days. reply if u agree. haha.

  • @strokesday ....I agree with you....I am completely fearful of the future that`s coming

  • @corker99 and we all should be. but this country is so obsessed with looking good and progessing in electronics that we have forgotten what made this country great. this country used to have 3 most important things. which was family, putting food on the table, and having fun. and we have forgotten why when we put those things as top priorites this country became great. but now its all about money, looks, and electronics. we need to go back to this time. MODERN TIMES SUCK!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic - thank you

  • Aaron1912 Quite the footage Cheers! > Would you happen to know the song from Murphys' War Peter O toole 1972 ? I have asked around and the only answer I have got is that it may be Jack Buchanon

  • Aaron1912 you have been my hero since 2006,which is the year I've discovered your videos, thank you very much, they are very inspiring in my life.

  • @APPLEexampleSample

    *cough* Registered: 8 February 2007 ~ haha

but nvm, I completely agree with you!

  • @wafflecoaster123 haha ouch! you're right ;-)...but still Aaron1912 videos are the best.

  • in the good old days , you can smoke a joint and isnt illegal, ahhhh, good old days!!! fuck the stupid us goverment , that make the weed illegal round 30s, using stupids prejouicius

  • Yep Great Film but don't forget that you're looking at wealthy people. Poor people lived in terraced slums if they were lucky. They worked themselves to DEATH!!

  • life was better back then period

  • the music and style was

    and the cars

other than that hell no it wasn't. so much sexism, racism, injustice, and flat out discrimnation everywhere

  • @55Mbro- Yes, for the wealthy and the whites...

  • People LIVED back then. They enjoyed life. Yes, there were problems but I think they just knew how to live life. Nowadays all everyone does is work and pay taxes. Something has to change!

  • I hope you realize that you only see the upper class in these clips of the roaring twenties

  • @richskis ur comment is the best comment i've ever seen on any youtube video. u have got it all right my friend. god bless u for writing it! haha. but really u are truly right. we have got to get back to this time. i hope one day soon, the revolution will come. and the world will go back to being like this. but for now. i guess we wait and try to contribute to the revolution. and like i said love ur comment.

  • Gotta be one of the BEST Charleston routines and examples of impro I have seen ( apart from my own lol ) - too, too utterly!

  • I SO wish I were around then! Sure there were problems, but Life was good!

  • @beefnotfish me to, i think technology fucked everything up i remeber when i was around 12 when we would go out and stay out ill bout 7 - 8 pm now kids come from school no respect for the parents or elders and just go on the video games everything is going downhill but no one realises

  • Our grandparents having fun!

  • What a wonderful word, FUN. Do people have fun these days. Unless there is deafening musac, booze and worse it doesn't seem they do.

At least if the media is to be believed.

Thanks for reminding me of that word.

  • I wish I had lived In The Good Old Days meaning the 1920s when women first started working, dating men alone, started smoking and drinking doing the same things as men. This was the best time to live, the best times to live were in 1890 to 1970. Those were the lucky folks this time truly sucks in every aspect school shootings, 9-11, very high divorce for no reason but sulfishness, putting old folks in nursing homes we live in very ugly times since the 1980s anti-smoking sickness qudriple cancer

  • What is the music?--it's really, really HOT!

  • the song is called Boot to Boot by Jesse Stone and his Blues Serenaders

The Album its on is called The Real Kansas City

Because i love this song i bought it on itunes and listen to it all the time on my ipod

  • Thanks for the tip--we who love hot jazz from the 1920s are a very eccentric group--many people are charmed by the "old fashioned" sound, but fail to recognize the profoundly transgressive quality of music like this--every bit as radical to contemporary ears as rock and roll was in the 50s and 60s.

  • So cute!

I love how it is speeded up, lol.

    Simply adorable!

    Love the 20's

  • i wish i lived in the 20's sooooo badddd!!

  • No onder women were thiner then. It was the Charleston that did it. "Hot Steppin" - real Jazz!

  • a-hahahaha!

  • Actually, the average size for women back then was between a 10 and 16. And that included Hollywood. If those women were in bathing suits, you'd be calling them fat because they're not size 0 to 4 like the fashion industry demands today.

Marilynn Monroe was between a 12 & 14--that's considered plus size now. If she were alive today, EVERYONE would be calling her fat. How sad.

Back then women were NATURAL. And men were tall, hardworking, industrious and courteous. Things change dont they?

  • The times, they are a-changing bro!

  • @pedritocobos for the worst.

  • lol! its funny all fast XD

  • Muy buen essamble entre imagen y mUsik!!

  • DITTO!! pieman97405. Thanks Again Aaron1912 for a very nice vidieo and great music.

  • In all honesty, I would rather live then than now, how far off is time travel?

  • I'm jealous of their moves! I wish these types of dances would be popular today, instead of the stuff shown on High School Musical or whatever...

  • Find a local swing club near you! People still swing dance all over the place (myself included, every Sunday!)

  • I'd swear those guys were playing the saxes! Amazing job making silent films sing!

  • jumpin! I added this puppy to my playlist. This rates with theme music beginning of (all things) "Victory at Sea" for impact!

  • ¡que divertido¡ ¡ que alegria de vivir¡ ¡que incosciencia¡

    love it¡

  • Thanks for uploading it. Please do keep up the good work.

  • Anyone know what this song is called?

  • 'Boot to Boot' by Jesse Stone and his Blue Serenaders (1927)

  • Thank you very much!

  • @Aaron1912 do you mean joss stone

  • @fredman692 No, the composer's name is Jesse Stone. he later wrote "Shake, rattle and Roll."

  • @Aaron1912

  • With foot work like that how do they even stay on their feet?

    Pretty snazzy

  • I smiled all the way through! Thanks for doing this. U did just great!

  • Awesome. Beautifully put together!!!!

  • lol, well I can tell you one thing, nobody never need to go to gym with this dancing. You will be in shape in a week dancing like this. Good clip though.

  • That first clip was from "So this is Paris" wasnt it?

  • I love the clothes! They are so modest, unlike today. You can be clothed and sexy!

  • The only time I was ever able to move my feet that fast was when I walked across hot sand

  • I Just Got over a Cold....

... "Is that really what its like in their, Doc?"

  • I was completely taken by surprise at the age of the person posting this video. Excellent job, young man!!!
