  • sounds a little out of tune but played very well

  • one day i hope to play like you sir

  • adelita, é uma música muito bonita, faz parte dos muitos amores de Tárrega

eu acho-a maravilhosa, deve ter sido escrita com muita ternura.

    Parabens ao executante.

  • adelita...hmmm so sweet

  • Very graceful.... bravo! I'm revisiting this myself. Once again you are inspiring me to move forward on my classical studies.

  • Yes, you know it's called "trills" --ha ha. Good one--I was watching ClassicalJoe's vertsion and you were in the "suggestion" box to the right. "Let me give old Gangly1 another listen" . Wunderbar.

    5*

  • Good play Gangly!

  • quinta del mundo te saluda

  • beautiful piece~!!

  • absolutly beautiful

  • Thanks a lot misekpisek.

  • Very very nice. Clean, expressive, very well articulated and smooth!

I think your rendition will help me a lot!

    thank you!

  • Thanks a lot for watching olarte.

I had brand new strings on here I think and they are a little off come the last third of the piece.

Good luck with it and please post when done.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul, this is excellent and like you say a very nice piece. What are you busy working on these days?

    Regards,

    Vernon

  • I also like your recording quality, it looks and sounds very professional. I would like to improve the quality of youtube videos as we will all enjoy them so much more. You have won a new subscriber. I love your style I am personally learning all of your videos. Very nice played and a very good sound quality! This is really nice, i'm planing to learn this myself. Very good sound quality.I study guitar five year ago and one day arrive there. Thanks.

    tonnze

  • hehe I'm sitting right now with a guitar that looks exactly like yours, i think the same one but i cannot exactly know .. the song is really easy to play

  • the song is really easy to play...fijo no tocas un carajo pedazo de idiota...jueputa gringo presumido

  • i understood only idiota and puta, fuck you you stupid mexican shit пиздец нахуй идиот дебил мудак пидарас ебанный в рот

  • Hi Grandma. I did reply earlier, but YT has lost it in the ether. My guitar is an Oscar Teller 1966 model 6/A. Do we share it?

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • nope

  • If I may ask, what notes are you hitting between the hammer-on/pull-off and the slide you're doing?

The tab I have says 9th fret G-string to 4th fret G-string, then the slide, but it looks like you're playing a different set of notes...(4th and 3rd fret maybe? not sure...)

As I'm trying to learn this song, any help would be appreciated, Thanks ^_^

  • At what time in the vid CT?

  • 0:16 sec, again at 0:33 sec, and again at 1:36 sec (right after the pull-off on string three).

Maybe I'm just seeing things, as it doesn't 'sound' like you're going to the third fret at all!

(Also I managed to figure out the song is much easier when you barre the seventh fret at around 0:14, I couldn't tell if you were using a barre chord there or not :X)

  • (0:16 sec, again at 0:33 sec, and again at 1:36 sec (right after the pull-off on string three).)

I found some sheet music for the song which shows the B string being played on the fifth fret then open... after that, string 1 is played open then fret three, then fret seven.

Is that what you're doing? (The tab I had previously had a slide on the G-string, same notes, so that may have confused you... sorry!)

  • Hi CT.

Have sent you a private message.

  • Excellent!! Are you sure you never had lessons ?? What type of guitar is that?

  • Thank you so much.

I assure, I have never had lessons.....but the pro's out there will know that!

    Really pleased you like it.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Sorry.

It is a 1966 Oscar Teller (German made).

They are still going, but some of the older (restored )guitars are available on E-Bay from time to time.

I got this one for (US)$150.00.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • i've been trying to find a version to listen to and practise, and don't know why i like yours very much. i like your interpretation. less "classic" and more personality.

  • Thanks for the nice comment. I am probably playing it all wrong. Never had any lessons, so please don't follow this example!

If you insist, don't play in front of the gas fire (on full blast) with new strings on.

They go rapidly out of tune!!

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • On your other posts, your guitar sounds HUGE. The reverb sounded like you were in a huge hall. Then you post this, and your tone is softer. So, your tone is all in your hands. Excellent sound and flawless performance. Thanks for the post.

  • Thanks for the kind comment.

You are right about the sound on earlier postings. Way too much reverb. I have got a bit more accustomed the settings now!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • this is a great piece man and you play it better than my guitar teacher :P ;)... i just started learning this... man the middle section to the end is most difficult to play :(... i don't know how i am ever going to get through that :). thanks!

  • Thanks a lot SRIspicee.

Just keep pratising it slowly and you will surprise yourself...I did!!

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

    that was most excellent.

  • Thanks a lot Mike.

    Hope you are keeping well.

    Paul

  • Hello friend

beatiful interpreation with nice tempo and volume control

    My best BlueJazzyClassic

  • Thank you my friend.

New strings on here and they don't last the piece before becoming flat...oh well!!

    Best Regards,

    Paul

  • very nice video! awesome sounds!

  • Thank you.

    Paul.

  • 'proper'(?)guitarist! you mean professional? It's always great to hear good professional guitarists play but it's even nicer to hear good non-professional players, because they don't have the same amount of time to practice.

Hope to hear more of yours.

  • If you did not have formal training as you said, you are gifted.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you. That is very kind of you.

It takes me ages to learn these things. I have a good CD collection of proper guitarists playing them from which I try to muster a decent interpretation.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • you played that very nicely, i learnt this piece years ago also, but i never played it as nice as that, i might just dig out my classical guitar again. did you say you have done no classical training, if thats the case you did very well indeed. i did Bourree for my grade 5 thats another popular piece.

  • Thanks a lot Julia.

Get it out and dusted down lady!! I would love to hear some classical pieces from you (not that there is anything wrong with your singing, mind).

    Best Regards,

    Paul

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Long time since I've played this piece, maybe 10 years I think. I might revisit it again.

    Thanks Paul, beautifully played.

  • Thanks a lot TW.

    Get it on here!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • I am 42 with no Grades to my name. You are 16 and studying for Grade 6 already!!

I think I should be asking you the questions!!!

Thanks and good luck with the exam.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Wish I could play this as well as you!!! Have to do this piece for my grade 6 exam in the winter, and i can't get the ending right. How long did it take you to get it right?

  • Thanks Paul! It would take a lot of dusting - I haven't played for over ten years (shocking isn't it?) Maybe one of these days...

    Best wishes, Jane

  • Really nice - I like your playing very much! (I used to play this many years ago!)

  • Thanks a lot Jane and for the v kind subscription.

Never mind many years ago. Get that guitar dusted off and get on here!!

    Best Regards sir,

    Paul

  • Haven't got the technique to perform the trills??? Could have fooled me. Sounds great..

  • Hi Paul,

I've been trying to get to your latest post but have been busy and every time I take the time to listen, the phone rings, or something. Finally... Very well done, as usual. Those trills look hard.

  • Thank you very much for posting Adelita. Your play is one of the best adelita ever uploaded in YT. Technically and musically it sounds close to perfect. You are a talented and skillful guitarist.

  • How very kind of you Sir.

The cheque is in the post.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Dadadadadada! *sings along to your playing*

Who could not love ol' Tárrega? :) Your trills are just fine, Paul. :)

  • Cheers Manuel. I love his music too. There are plenty more in the book I have...but very difficult for me to play.

    Regards, Paul.

  • Very nice played Paul!

I think the trills or whatever they are called you did well :)

    Regards

    Dmitry

  • Cheers Dmitry. See my reply to Mike.

    Regards, Paul.

  • "By George--err I mean Gangley, I think you got it!".

    --Van

  • Eh up Van! Thanks a lot mate.

    George.

  • Great job Paul! It's very difficult to play it perfect, it sounds perfect to me :)

  • Thanks a lot Liran:-}

  • Great job on this ... and Lagrima, as well. I know what you mean about the 'trills'. I could never do them well either. It's interesting to hear the different interpretations of these two tunes. There are so many videos of them to compare.

  • Chhers Mike.

I think Mr K owes us a few free lessons for helping along the road to fame and fortune!!

    Regards, Paul
