I need to know how to add textures that have transparency. Make a tutorial? I tried getting help in the forums but all they say is "Its this you will find it in the manual look in the manual all answers in the manual everything is in the manual." I just want to go straight to the point where it tells me exactly how to do it.

could you please tell me how to make that texture? i tried it and for some reason, it only turns out black, i have a greyscale of the branch......i put them all in the right place...but it still doesn't work...

For the branch image (with the alpha value) I used an existing image of a bare tree in winter (found on teh interweb of course lol) and adjusted the contrast and brightness levels until I separated the branches from the sky background. This results in a solid black branch, against a solid white bg. Then, for the tree texture, I just played around with a random cloud effect until I got a nice natural bark texture. Just play around, thats the fun of it!

Ooh, yes. It just keeps getting more and more powerful, especially in the rendering areas, the renders that newer versions of Anim8or can do are beautiful. Best part: it's still free.

Im going to college for computer graphics and have 3dsmax but I still have both Blender and Anim8or that I carry around on a snap drive with me everywhere!
