@fscrook50 I may not have been clear. I meant anything glossy, (including dry glue) can be painted earthy tones using Krylon flat paint. Jute and burlap strips also. The last thing you want when hunting or being persued is shine.
@camomaker81 no you cant cuz the netting wont hold it especially with that crappy elmers glue...ive tried with super glue but it was plastic netting i used so it wasnt as good...sew it or have someone who knows how to sew sew it for you
when u put that netting on the back be mindful of the fact your gonna be flexing certain parts of the suit when its in operation so glue it with some slack so it wont be stressed or tensioned or it may fall apart on you hehe
Where can I find Moulage our however you spell it? I do have burlap wrap, but I'm not sure if that's good enough because it frays quite easily, and it's quite hard to attach it without cutting it.
*Remember: When outside for prolong periods of time and you have to "tinkle" - urinate away from yourself. Ghille suits are difficult to clean. And never take your suit to a dry cleaners LOL.
@wasupbigchief nobody is dumb enough to piss themselfs in a ghillie suit and if your talking about soliders....well you dont need to tell them, esp over youtube.
@TheEmarbe actually since they cant just get up and walk to the latrine or bathroom, and on a mission for possibly days it is possible to have to piss or shit yourself.... sucks, but there's nothing much else you can do
If you paste a patch over the pockets, you can slit the fabric on the inside of the suit behind where the zipper is, and still use the pockets (from the inside). Makes excellent map pockets.
I could-but I dont like the last 3 digits of your YT channel so your on your own(bum deal-cuz this place has the best selection of surplus I've seen yet @ the cheapest prices too)
I know what you're talking about! Most of the time they're calling ME the idiot... >.> I tell them to watch this then they see why I call THEM the idiots! XD
I like when the military explains things like this as it's so much more professional and easy to understand. Thank you for this nice upload GhillieArnhem. ^.^
Great Vid. I made my own suit buy stripping a Aus army shirt and then sewing it all to my other clothing. If I saw this clip before hand it would have saved alot of time,
i got just one quick question. On the netting i cant afford the millitary netting so i was wondering how big the square mesh holes are in the netting its self so i can find some to buy that is cheaper
trying my hand at this soon. first time. this wont be the first video of yours i've watched, though if you yourself could provide me with some pointers i'd really appreciate it!
GhillieArnhem, these videos are great. Thank you for this knowledge. Right now my brother and I are both making our own Ghillie suits. And is it my imagination, but @ 6:15 it looks like a Marine Corps 8 point cover. If I'm correct, then Semper Fi!
Hey Im 13 and flight suits sren't avliable in my size I was wondering if paint coveralls would work just as well and what else could you use instead of
So long as you can get one in a earth tone color or if you can dye it to an earth tone color, you should be fine with it. You can sew it by hand or any industrial cement like gorrila glue.
it shouldnt be a problem if you start with a larger than normal flight suit. If you dont have a large suit. be sure to atach the canvas with the leg bent slightly.
also when it comes to fraying the burlap. I found a cool trick. dye the burlap sacks the colors you want, then instead of hanging it to dry, put the burlap in an old pillow case tie the end shut and put it in the dryer, this frays the burlap perfectly.
you can cut a little wedge shape out of the side of the canvas part in the middle of the canvas section where your knee bends. This lets the canvas bend with your knee.
@GhillieArnhem I used a tube of "Liquid Nails" in the caulk-gun. Easier to squeeze out a strip than the Shoe Goo, and doesn't 'set' as fast as hot glue; giving you time to do all glueing before applying the patch. Also a caulk-gun style tube has enough to do the whole suit.
I see cum stains on the suit lol

does he know they make black shoe goo , why use white ?
fscrook50 1 month ago
@fscrook50 Jute/burlap will cover it completely. Anything glossy can be spray painted in krylon anyway.

@Greataardvark while that may be true that doesn't support using white over black

You can use just about any netting. The most common however is 1in x 1in. You can even you volley ball netting, as I've seen in other vids.
