  • I think copyright laws go to far with this issue....

people will still buy games even with roms out there...I think the rom thing started all the way back on DOS

  • over here in the uk there is a sega megadrive/sega genesis with all the old games like sonic and altetred beast allready on the system i saw in in one of the video game shops over here it might be there where you live

  • Even though Wii emulation is just about useless as it has no Wii controls, it's still stealing, but I realistically don't think that's a threat to Nintendo. PS2 emulation is stupidly poor right now meaning that you'd be stupid not to just buy a PS2 and play the games perfectly. However PS1 emulation and below is quite good. They're also no longer in production. I think these are fair game. I think it's a crime what Nintendo and Sony charge for nothing. No disc, no box, and corruptible. NO SALE

  • "it's still stealing, "

That doesn't make sense - emulation is, on its fundamental level, just simulating a system, and the ability to run programs that can run on the actual hardware being simulated. Wouldn't the issue be not with emulating in of itself, but how that is used?

  • For newer consoles, yes, it is stealing, but, say 20-30 years down the road, not so much.

As long as the game's system isn't still being distributed, and supported, how is it effecting anything?

For the most part, I download emulators to games and systems I own. Sure, I may get a few, but, my emulation library isn't huge and it consists mostly of games I already own, and are out of circulation in the market. DLing Quack Shot wont hurt Disney. They aren't manufacturing the game anymore...

  • They wont see a dime from a used game that's that old. But, the store that sold it will. Sure, I wouldn't mind buying a SEGA Genesis emulator for my PS3 from PSN, but, considering how little the games will take up on the servers, the price better reflect that. They better be 20 cents a pop if I have to pay 5 bucks to rent a movie for one viewing day.

Because then, it adds up, and after I buy 50 Gens games because they were so cheap, it adds up to 10 or so dollars. Not bad. Hell, make it 25.

  • For old systems, I don't mind. A lot of the companies that made really old games are completely defunct, and the rights to the game are tied up so there is no way any one could ever play them again legitlly. In my opinion emulating old games is preserving them in history. Some great games are literally impossible to find.

But for new games that is a different matter. It is straight up stealing. You aren't preserving, you are destroying. I just think the copyright should be shorter.

  • I really do believe it would hurt the market, but most people (like me) that I've heard of are just using old systems like the super nintendo, or nes, for example.

  • Piracy, yeah it can be a problem, but the margin being stolen is small. Renting and Used game sales have been going for years and I think it's much larger a problem. I'd love to see it all stopped. That's not to say I haven't done these things. I've rented and bought used game when times were hard, and emulated old PS1 games at school. But I don't on a regular basis.

  • The used game market hurts game developers much more then piracy, but the used market will be a thing of the past in a few years because it will all be digital distribution.

  • Emulation FTW!

let those stupid fanboys fight eachother! when the dust of the console war settle, all consoles and games will be emulated.

  • they do make money off of it. the people who sell pirates for the pc sell emulator dvds that have loads of emulated games.

  • they should do like a itunes for old games

  • @KungFuMan95 TOTALY AGREE

  • I don't like pirating. I think playing console games on emulators don't have the right feeling and you can't get into them as you would playing them the right way on a console. It's much more satisfying when you have the games in your shelf.

  • The Nintendo Wii uses emulation to run all the N64 and SNES games that you download off VC.

Although emulators can have certain issues.

For example, playing a Nintendo game with the inputs of different hardware won't control 100% exactly the same because the game is programmed to recognize the hardware that is supposed to be used!

If you run Mario Kart 64 and plug in a PS2 controller, the game still thinks it's using an N64 controller.

  • How the hell will companies lose profits for games, that are over a decade old? The only one losing profits are those weirdos on eBay who put them up for bid at over 100$?

  • @Roxas80 or in the case of some of the SEGA Genesis/Megadrive games, almost 23 years old.

  • so all u retards are like : yes,i want to give money for something that i can get for free?

r u all on pcp or sumtin.

and no gamerpeople im not some lil punk in my moms basement.oh and btw i dnot give a fuck about the companies and their profit.

  • wow..dude you reaaally need to take a chill pill, seriously..

  • Yea I think its ok to have roms for games that you once had or games your never gonna find. Once the game is out of production, the companies don't make profit off of it anyway.

  • That hurts the market??!!

NIGGA FUCK YOU U CRACKHEAD.SUCK MY MOTHA FUCKIN DICK U PUSSY!!! U SORRY ASS FOOL GO KILL YO SELF.

  • Woah, dude..you got problems..

  • i got problems? tell me ....how da FUCK can broke ppl buy all those original games and consoles?what, they dont have the right 2 enjoy playing those games on PC' via emulators?

  • dude, You need to CALM it..and i didn't say they didn't have the right so next time try not to pick a fight with an innocent bystander with an opinion.

okay..They do have the right, im just saying you should calm down..

  • Yo tough guy commenter whos probably some little punk in his mom's basement. Grow up asshole.

  • ...

    -.-""

  • i play free burned PS2 games on my PS2 for free using Swap Magic 3.0 + a Flip top.

Never again will i have to buy another PS2 games....and lucky me, they're STILL making games for the PS2...thats hot.

  • Come on. Who doesn't have emulators loaded up to their office space computer?

"Bill, could you please finish those DD273s by tonight? Sure. Sure." *boss walks away* "Just as soon as I kill Bowser, sucka."

  • Google 'Daemon Tools' an emulator. It's not illegal it's made to mount certain images. But it's mostly used for illegal stuff. EA has 'SecuROM' in most of their update to date games, so if you have an emulation tool you can't install it to your hard drive. Then there are cracks to stop secuROM from happening or to use it without a disk. Sometimes the program you have cracked can be very laggy or choppy.

  • i hope it will be as easy to download and play console games as it is to download pc games, cuz then maybe the console games wont cost twice as much as pc games!

PC games are cheaper because they are so easy to download and play. It is actually easier to download a pc game than it is to buy. the illegal download sites have actually faster download speed than the legal sites!

  • Not true. They have PAL files on TPB. And legal sites are usually faster than illegal sites because you're doing more files through Peer 2 Peer when legal companies have more access to different things to make it faster.

  • i have downloaded many games on steam. And turbine's web site. and the truth is i get almost double speed on dc++.

On steam i never get more than 1mib/s

anyway my point is that console games r 2 expensive. i buy all my games, but i often end up buying the PC version because its half the price. at least thats how it is in Norway.

One more thing, steam is actually charging over 10$ more for the games than it cost in the store, that is just wrong. i dont even get the box, and its done automatic.

  • i use a gameboy advance emulater but i only download roms of games i had the ones i broke or lost

  • well emulators are made for research, pirating roms is a side-effect that the emulators developers has nothing to do with

  • Emulation is good. What it basicky does makes your system (PC, Wii, PSP or whatever) do more things, like you can have the whole collection of your NES games on you DS or PSP trough emulation, of coure you can only play the back-up's for the cartridge based systems and it can lead to some problems. But the downsides of emulation could re reduced significantly - through complete backwards compatability.

  • What exactly was your question? I got lost. If you were asking copying games is wrong... guess that would me a matter of opinion. Btw, I know roms are copyrighted too, they just don't have the protection.

  • I've been messing around with emulation for the last 13+ years and was there in it's prime (NESticle & Genecyst anyone?) and honestly a lot of it has calmed down. It's really not as popular as it was back in the mid to late 90s.

I think it was necessary though as it caused the industry to realize there is still a market for old games. (Wii Virtual Console, PlayStation Store, Xbox Originals) and I believe it will only fade out more as they release more old titles as downloadable content.

  • As for an on topic comment anyway..

I love emulation, but I only use it for old games that either cost far too much or are just too damned hard to find.

PS1 and N64 is as recent as I'll go for emulation, but mostly I do SNES games that I never got a chance to play when I was younger.

  • I just realized last night while playing Gears of War 2 that you and Dom look very similar, especially beard wise.

  • I want a way to back up my PS1 games onto PS3 game discs. My take on it is if the game is out of circulation it should be allowed to be shared by all, but if it is in circulation it should not be allowed to be copied unless you own a copy already.

  • Well there is some model of ps3 which you can play ps1 games with.

  • @WebSurfer

I believe every PS3 can play PS1 games. I have the crappy 80gb model (the one with most of the features gone) and it still plays PS1 games, you don't even need a memory card or a different controller. It's PS2 games that aren't supported on some models.

  • Theres nothing wrong with emulators. I have ps emulator and I pop my FF7 cd inside and all the graphics get awesome facelift. FF7 gives a whole new playing experience then.

  • I don't really think pirating would hurt the gaming industry when what you're pirating isn't in circulation anymore. Although, I may be mistaken. Personally, I only brought my PSP to hack and play PSX games soo... yeah.

  • When it comes to logic, legality, ethics and technical aspects of emulation most of the comments here are pure nonsense.

The lack of info on the provided video helped on that too I suppose. Oh well. :p

  • Awesome video. It's good to know your wife is doing better from the surgery.

  • Give my compliments and wishes for quickly getting better to your wife.

Can't wait for the next video, keep up the good work Frank!

    Peace, psshh!

  • Good job on the beardage. I am glad to hear your wife is doing better.

  • My beard is similar to yours. In fact, it's just like yours, except my mustache doesn't grow much hair, but neither does my chin. I get a little bit though.

Yeah, my brother used to use emulators years and years ago... Of course we don't use them anymore. I haven't even thought of the term for that long.

  • Seriously, these video game videos suck ass. unsubscribed

  • I will only pirate a game if it has DRM on it. DRM is what is killing the games industry. I buy a games that last me a life time. Not games that when I've installed it 3 times it craps out on me and doesn't let me play it again.

And the Dolphin Emulator can emulate Wii games.

  • DONT BELIEVE THE RUMORS ABOUT WII EMULATORS. Any "wii emulator" you may find is 1000% likely to be a virus (1000 not 100). Same goes for PS3 and XBOX360

  • emulating bastards

  • i cool i'm hang'n out

  • it would cost too much to work with all those companies to get the licences to use all those old games, but meh.

  • Couldn't agree more.

I have used emulators heavily for years, but I have strictly limited myself to cartridge-based platforms. The reason being is that they are not easily available for purchase any longer (Ebay in my opinion doesn't count).

I could easily run PSX and PS2 emulators, but it would hurt the market and even though it is not my place to take something without permission, I do download NES and SNES roms.

Make them easily available and price them for what they are worth, and I'm in.

  • i think everything under gamecube ps2 and xbox should be emulated

because i live in grand forks ND and we had a flood in 1997

i lost my snes aand my nes with over 300 games

but next gen consoles shouldnt be emulated because you can still get them

  • the PC is sinking so they try to loor consol players to the PC. and also bekos the PC doss not gett inaff games so they stel games from the consols.

  • Look 90% of the people who pirate games would have never otherwise bought the game itself in a store. We do it because it's free, and if we had to pay for it, we simply wouldn't go through with it (Other than a game here and there ONCE in a while)

  • poor u must be tough lookin after kids without mom hehe. hope she gets well soon great video

  • i agree with a lot of people here, if ur emulating the N64, PSX, atari, nintendo, and whatever else its not a problem, because in almost all stores today they dont sell those sytems games let alone selling the system itself anymore, but on the otherhand downloading ps2, xbox, 360, ps3, or wii shouldnt be tolerated, those are new and still selling games.

  • LMFAO " my wife cant life anythin over 20 pounds, well... both of my kids are over 20 pounds " xD

  • i've done that.. it's pretty fun

  • I download emulators and throw them on my PSP. I love playing GBA games on it man. I don't think throwing emulators from systems from 5-20 years ago is really a problem, considering they don't even make the system anymore. And also, the reason the PS3 is not able to run ISO files is because the system itself is too protected. I've been putting every bit of time I have into trying to decode the security and encryption keys. It's going to be a while.

  • honestly emulatuing ps1, n64, atari games shouldnt be big deal, i dont forsee it hurting the vdieo game market of today much. but as for ps3, 360, wiii games being emulated kinda fuks everyone who doesnt emulate in the ass.game prices will rise, and some titles due to low sales will not be able to continue a franchise, like if everyone emulated the next few maddens, theyd stop makin due to low sales.( econ 230)

  • emulation should be legal for games that aren't in production any longer.

  • yee man i agree with u

  • I dont think Emulation is so bad that people should go to jail if they're caught. I mean if it was such a bad thing, why don't they just shut all the sites and stuff down?

I don't really do it that much, only for like really old, classic games that I can't really find in stores.

  • No I don't think it should be against the law or anything but thats only because I use emulaters :P

  • i download music cause artists make loads of money of concerts and stuff but if i really like the artist il buy the cd. For games id never download them other than the old sega emulators and gameboy emulators

  • wow man, i just googled Emulator like you said heres what i got!! The Emulator Zone- Your source for emulation and underneath there was like n64 and all that stuff!

  • god damn uber nerds

  • uber nerds? you do know what uber means right? im pretty sure over nerds does not make any sense what so ever

  • I consider Emulators for older system as ok. I doubt Nintendo will ever revive NES or the old SEGA or Atari. But I do admit that it's bad to use emulators for recent console.

Does it hurt the market? Nah....to run some PS2, Wii, Xbox360 etc, you need a real bomb for PC. Only a few minority can run it

  • plus for the more recent games, your looking at a really long download, where as older ones will be smaller files coz they didnt have the same level of graphics as they do know or whatever

  • for me, its easier to play games in the original game console~ and yeah emulation = piracy * ive watch the last vid of yours about your wife, hope she get well soon*

  • i think nintendo and all the top brands are making enough money not to worry about emulators.

  • man you are so awesome dude i wish i could meet you lol i like the girl eidvice you gave in that one video and i like the point of this video that stealing games or getting them for free what they call on a iligal market so man keep it u[ and i hope you just get better and better at this well 5/5

  • hey man.... your awesome father.^^ hope everyone is feeling better soon. Your also a great guy. love watching you videos.^^..about the wii it has the game cube mother bored in it so to say....yeah.

  • make games cheaper and ppl wont need 2 DL em. tlking bout nds and shit thats small in mb.

  • y got my ps3 and xbox 360 haked and really is awsome y really dont care y loved haking

  • My wife lost her gallbladder to and had back surgery with in two weeks. Hope your wife gets better soon. I have had emulators since 2002 for nintendo, snes, sega, but that is it. They are out of the market and I have a son that is ten now, so I wanted to show him the the games we grew up on. I think emulators are cool for older systems because you can't find them any where, plus they can match up with pc controllers. We have had the Wii and I just bought the PS3. WHAT GAMES SHOULD I BUY FOR PS3?

  • Me personally, I use emulators, but only for old systems like NES, SNES or gameboy, you know, systems that are hard to find today and the companies themselves don't sell anymore. It's not like I'm hurting the industry either considering that if I chose to buy the console, it'd just go to some guy who put it on ebay, at a much higher cost.

  • Usually, with emulation, the keyboard controls are usually horrid for most games.

And sometimes, playing the real system is MUCH better.

  • what alot of non PC gamers dont know is that there are game pads for the pc that resemble the consoles for example u can get a logitech dual action controller off amazon for like $16 and it looks just like the ps1/ps2 controller also the xbox 360 controler can work on the pc along with wiimotes and they are all compatable with these emulators.

  • HE SAID""i DiDNT GET TO SHAHVE

  • good vid bud, keep doing great and wish you best of luck.

  • all i know is that ps3 emulator wont happen blue rays to big to put on a comp well more then 3 games would be like 120gbs to much mem

and i used snes and nes emulators

  • I'm an 360 owner... but I do care about the gaming industry as a whole... growing up I've been lucky to experience the joy from a myriad of consoles (NES, SNES, Genesis, PlayStation, PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox, and 360)... I love to hit the arcades and game online... gaming for me doesn't breakdown to blind loyalty or companies... it breaks down to the heart behind the creation of a game...

  • hmm never herd of this. but everyone steals music, movies, and everything else off the internet.. so why not games?

  • I Emulate, N64,PSx,GBA,SNES,NES. Most of the games i have on my hard drive however i did own in the past, which just got sold on, i mean who doesn't wanna play Zelda again?

  • If the game is no longer in the market, then its not worth spending money on it. On top of that, the games of the 'newer systems' will lag like a bitch on a computer. If you want to make it play like the actual systems, you'll be paying more money to pimp out your comp than that of the game! Its totally kool for dead systems. (for like 3 bucks you can buy PS1 games on the PS store)

  • I think that it is wrong to download newer things like ps2, wii, and psp games but i only download nes roms because my nes broke. and besides, nes games aren't even sold anymore.

  • The emulators for Gamecube PS2 or Xbox (dont even think they've made any progress) are total shit. If a game runs on it, its most likely not playable, even the N64 emulator's that have been around for awhile such as PJ64 arent capable of running everything. That being said, by the time a system is actually fully emulated, were generally another 2 generations ahead and the companies have put those old games to the side. Makes it alot easier to play those retro games you cant buy these days.

  • well i can tell u this much. Alot of progress have been made on the ps2 emulator cuz im able to play a good amount of games with little frame rate drops on my low end pc lol

  • The Sony and Emulator collaboration, is genius.

  • Great Vid :D. Good to hear your wife is ok.

  • i think its ok, so long as the game is still not on the market like, nes, snes and all those old games

  • hey man can u add my psn-vamp023 i subscribe to u i did already but i watch all your vids plz add me

  • Sometimes, emulators are the only way to play. I could have thrown out a lot of older CD titles if it weren't for DosBox, for example. Other systems, like the Atari Lynx, have an open source/freeware emulator, and most of the games have been made public domain and can be downloaded from sites like Atariage for example. Today's high end consoles are a lot harder to emulate, and I don't condone "game piracy" like that. That really hurts the industry, and ultimately the user.

  • i know half of my friendlist of my xbox is having a flashed xbox so they play for free kinda lame if you ask me. thanks for subscribing DS :p

  • my friend did this he was able to make his wii play dvd's or something

  • honestly, i think loads of games are such a ripoff. take Need for Speed for example. you pay a hefty price for it and you finish the game in less than a week. the same applies to sports games. you pay for the damn thing and a few months later the newer and "better" version is already out.

  • agreed

  • Man take it easy on yourself for the sake of your family. You seem dead.

    Take it easy man.

  • for the old games I can understand(because they don't make them anymore) but for today systems I dont see why. I mean I rather go buy a disc then download thats just me because I have crappy download speed.

  • You look tired, take care of yourself and your family.

    All the best,

  • I feel roms for the older games are fine, anything that uses a cartridge, because you know they're not making them anymore. I know anything I have that's cd based gaming I use my cd. For example, I will use a Psx cd I own with epsxe. But you can get into terms like rom hacking, changing levels + other things in older games. Most common would be old super mario titles. the thing is though, if people tried selling roms and emulators it would be illegal since they don't own the rights to them.

  • I only emulate games that are over 15 years old man...im an old skool gamer :)

  • I have some emus for my ds but i only get the games that i actually own. i have enough respect to just get the games i own and buy the ones i dont have.

  • I think it's good for these old games from 10 to 15 years ago,or more.Like that the games are like films and some are becoming clasic. The new generation games i wouldn't do tough.

  • idk y people are complaing cause most roms are for the psp to play gba, n64, nes and older systems its not completely illegal most roms are for games not even being produced by companies anymore its not running up the price of 360 and ps3

  • Downloading games is mean towards the publishers, but it's also a big business itself in the form of modding and so on.

  • awesome video dude i dont really know anythin about emulation and wat not.. sounds sorta like pirate dvds.. hope ur wife feels better soon dude

  • nice nice

    lol

  • i will say i only use emulation as a demo thing what i mean is i use the emu to test games to see if i want to buy them and if i like the game i will go buy it and thats an other reason i want to buy a ps3/360 because you can just download demos of games from psn/xbl and you can see if you want to purchess the game

  • Sup Frank! Psst from the bottom bunk, love it :). You are right, man, you don't have anything to apologize for. You are awesome taking care of your wife and kids like that. Bless you guys and I hope your wife feels better soon! :)

  • emulators are fine....but if they get into the newer systems then they have a problem...feel better and get some sleep digitilsoul

  • THEY ARE ALREADY IN NEW SYSTEMS SUCH BANJO KOOZIE FOR 360, AND SUPER MARIO 64 FOR Wii

  • DS, to emulate a system, your system has to have 100 X it's systems power. Just helping you out on info. Also, a list of emulators:

    Emulator Zone. (Google it, ),

But yeah. I do emulate and it's not the fact that your ripping of games, those games arnt really being sold anywhere else so why not play your favorite game? Besides, lol. Emulation is better then the newer games I think. (Most games are getting lamer with insane graphics).

  • the emulator and rom problem isnt really all that much of a problem. sure their uploading games online for people to download but most are just old system games. I mean sure the companys could redistribute games but would anyone wanna buy it? but yeah i view it was a small problem, it couldn't really hurt the gaming economy at the moment unless someone found a way to do it the PS3 and 360 then were pretty much fucked

  • fucking bootleg faggots fuckin up the gaming market. u want more and better games then BUY the mohterfucking games.

  • pfffff Wii doesnt make much money anyway lol who cares :P

  • You're kidding right?

  • u cant tell?

  • i dont no much but i think it might have something to do with the PS3's blu-ray discs

  • unless the companies make money off it i think it is ok to emulate

  • Not enough people are doing it to make a difference. It is wrong, legally. If it was market destablizing they would do much more to protect it from happening. The ps3 and xbox360 have random startup codes were as the ps2 and xbox used the same codes everytime. Thats the answer i got from a little google search.

  • I would never play a wii game in an emulator, it's just not the same feeling as if i played it with the real controller..

But it can be fun to play emulated Atari games, i mean it's kind of hard to find a console that still works!

  • You can connect the wii remote to a pc and play it with that.

  • okay...

  • If you own a game or it's no longer sold on the market you should have every right to use emulators.

  • I feel like this - Download a game, try it, if you like it, BUY IT.

My motto is - If you liked something, buy it.

  • I agree. People should only (bootleg) the older games to stablize the market

  • i think if they do it like a couple times its ok...but if they do it like 10 or 20 times..then thats just stupid..... if we have to pay for a game ...and all they do is download it then ya know...maybe right now its not bad...but in a few years maybe everyone knows how to do it ...and maybe games..and game systems wont be the same..

  • yea but im not buying a game for 50 bucks -_-

  • i rather just the games

  • Comment removed

  • its just wrong

  • i think if your smart enough and brave enough do it! Recommended for personal use only, not resale! Its great to have classics though! and they cant cost much money!

  • i think its wrong offcours if you want to play all these games buy a console and buy the game you want to play or the gaming market will loose alot of money and thats not good :\

  • I remember trying out Project 64 because i sent my 64 out to a buddy mine in Cali and i just missed the old classics like Banjo. (Sadly my computer didnt run it.) But i think it's stupid that there are emulators for the last gen because those games you can still get. However, 64 and Ps1 arent even sold at gamestop anymore. (Well not where I live)

  • I dont care about game sales and stuff. I think that game creators have a lot more money than me...

  • I honestly don't mind the use of ROMs and emulators. The emulators themselves aren't illegal, it's the ROMs that are. I mean, this may sound like some major bias considering most of my videos, but if you don't have the console or the money for the game, I'll get a ROM easy, then get the stuff when the money rolls around.

If people have the system, I don't see why they use ROMs (aside from lack of money for the game itself), but I know they do. If they get the game eventually, good. If not, meh.

  • i really dont mind if someone does that with like an NES or Super Nintendo or somthing because they really arent worth that much in the first place

  • I only download ds games becasuse i can't get them here but xbox or any of the new consoles where your just downloading them just because you don't have enough money then be a man and rob the game out of a store or something

  • i dont mind the emulation of the older stuff, NES SNES sega and even gba, but the emulation of the new stuff bothers me.

  • dude you are the coolist guy i know

  • I dont care atm but if they figure out how to do it for a PS3 or 360 ill be really pissed considering i have both and they cost a bomb

  • there not smart they waste there lives away making these iso's and all the other stuff. thus, there just nerds/losers trying to tear down markets.

  • i only new about the nintendo DS one

you can get them 40 pound

then upload any game onto it :S

    its right and wrong

  • if ti's no longer in sales i don't think it matters

  • Your so right man I own well 20 games on PC that costed me 900$1000$ and I dont regret that! Cuz they are the best games!

  • the old consoles should be emulated but only those as if they start emulating the newer ones the companise will stop making moeny and maybe one day just stop making games/game consoles as they dont make enough money to work off of

  • Ok, I say after 20 years, any movie, music, or game should be up for grabs. 20 years is a career lifetime for anybody who created that media. You don't expect a Fireman to get royalty everything a person he saved from death makes a dollar. But you do expect the Fireman to get a salary for 20 years and get a pension after he retires. So....its all how you look at it I guess.

  • its a bit worse than just emulating. people can download NEW games (or at least back in the time of playstation, not sure about the newer systems) burn them to dvd, and play them on their console with some slight mods.

I remember a few years ago a game came out in japan a month before it came out in NA, and half the people on the message board I was on had dl'd it, and were playing the jp version on their ps2s

  • Oh yeah, I emulate stuff all the time. But none of the newer stuff.

I do have the consoles, but they don't sell the games anymore, and old games go for a lot of money on ebay and such, so I emulate them.

  • the got a rom for 360

  • Since not alot of people dont know about emulation, now even more people know about it xD

  • so true..

    nice vid ^^.

  • downloading roms is just as bad as buying 2nd hand games. plus i believe that if i buy the games now, the money wouldn't go to the people who actually made the games.

  • Modern game console emulators shouldnt be allowed, they should remove them sites from the internet, but I dont think old atari emulators and n64 ones arnet bad, I mean, its not like they actually still make money out of them systems..

  • i think that snes old ass games should be emulated but other then that no

  • DS emulating for the win

  • Have u got a link to a DS emulator?! =D

  • I dont think emulators hurt the market that much. From my experience as newer systems are'nt emulated only older people tend to look for them, and generally for nostalgia reasons. I have looked for emulators and found that they are a lot of hassle to find the right files and stuff online. some of the roms dont work properly etc etc. I do like your idea of them selling the emulators officially i think that would be something that would do quite well personally.

  • omg thats my bed from ikea

  • This stuff has been going on for longer than you think. Torrents offer plenty of PC pirated games, I don't think the market is hurting that bad because of it. If I see a game I like for PC, I'll either download it off steam or go and buy it.

Them selling this stuff would just piss off the bigger corporations more.
