  • not talk so much....show how it flies......!!!

  • good thing she's holding a camera and not a car!!, wow

  • it's one thing to build one, it's another thing to strap yourself in it and go faster then you can stop and higher then you can fall

  • THANKS for sharing this video guys! My wife is an Ohio State alumni - so she REALLY loves your plane. I've been thinking about building a minimax for years. What kind of motor do you have installed?

  • And RC planes cost more.

  • im done with this bs if yur going to show the plane lets see it fly!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:O

  • i have more faith in the "old men" than the young ones to build this. at least they know that the can that says DOPE is for the fabric on the wings !

  • We haf to worey about old pepole driveing now we hav to worey about them flying god help us

  • two old men built this 100% is gonna crash in the first flying attempt

  • I could make a airplane under 4000

I would just get allot of tree and some metal and I make a WWI fighter plane

  • What's the brand of the airscrew?

  • hahahah

me and my bro (13 and 11) r building a 14 foot wingspan trike ultra light

    for under 300 dollers

  • @TheLilguitarboy pics or it didnt happen (WIP pics count)

  • get out of the way and just show the plane.

  • Cool. At 70mph it burns 1.5 gallons an hour, with a 5 Gal tank. And it only costs 9K! Wow. That's way cheaper and better than a Hybrid. I think I'll get one.

  • small attention span at 1:18

  • @anderberger Its a woman dude that about sums it up right there.

  • how fast will it go??? ITS A FUCKING PLANE not a car ¬_¬

  • Actually flies ..... definetly mosquitoes !!!

  • 70 mph? A home made helicopter cruises @ 160 mph see Rotormouse.mov

  • Let's see it fly!!

  • nice wooden prop, hahahahaha

  • can do backflip?

  • The name of the engine is not HURST! HIRTH F33 from Germany.

  • Mini-Max, representing Nappanee, IN!

  • wow! it is cheap !

  • TRY DEISEL NEXT TIME

  • top speed 70? screw that, let me tinker with it a bit and i'll get the top speed up to a good 100 at least

  • could you tell me where you got the kit?? email dillonmahoney@boats4u.com

  • the heli is awesome

  • VERY cool! Though I think it would have been NICE to see it FLY. And the camera-woman needs lessons in how to be a camera-woman. Lesson #1 - shoot a LONG SHOT of the subject (the plane) before cutting in to close-ups. #2 - If you're interviewing someone, show their face, NOT their belly (considered rude in some areas of Europe). #3 - if you're shooting a story about a home-made plane, STICK TO IT. We can see OTHER RC planes ANYWHERE.

  • NICE TOY

  • OHIO... Home of Nano Cannons and appearently Nano Planes... Sweet.

  • GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!! We dominate the land and the air!!!

  • Awesome :D did it land at the RC field?

  • of course its in ohio

  • man i love old dudes!

  • can you show vids of it flying

  • @dua0001 Unfortunately, didn't go to the show. It was the next week.

  • So much wrong info.... 100LL AvGas is LOADED with lead!!! Unleaded auto gas is ZERO lead. Most 100LL has 2-3 grams of lead!!

  • @LincTexPilot Maybe thats why they call it low lead and not unleaded

  • five gallon tank? cruising speed 60? i wouldnt fly that without a parachute good insurance and with good weather (0mph wind)

  • thankyou for the video.

  • Lenny: he Lue, lets make an airplain!

    Lue: ok!

  • @SPcreationsAndGaming FAIL! you spelled plane! bad

  • Lenny: he lue, lets make an airplain!

    Lue: ok!

  • The headless plane builder!

  • go ohio state !!!!!!

  • Well if it "Really Flies", let's see it fly.

  • if its a kit its not home made then .. its a kit made plane still looks nice

  • hahaha. add. the recorder has attention defisite. thumbs up if agreed

  • Another UFO sighting ....Unidentified Flying Old-fart.

  • i would be the first on and i havent flown a plane

  • The looks like a gigantic zenoah 62cc

  • Looks good to me.As long as everything checked out I wouldnt have any reservations on flying it.Not saying I'd necessarily want to be first though.

  • This is just amazing!

  • I built a mini-max and a v-max too. Great little airplanes.

  • at 4:44 dumbass thats when he farts hahaha

  • I go to OSU right now and am in Aerospace Engineering!

  • I go to Ohio State right now and am in Aerospace Engineering. Are these guys alumni? good to see some OSU pride on that plane

  • I go to Ohio State right now and am in Aerospace Engineering. Are these guys alumni? good to see some OSU pride on that plane

  • This is to cool! I love the looks of this! Very dumb question , but I am not an expert, but this aircraft, does it qualify as an ultra-light, meaning no official license, or is it a real deal aircraft, that you must get the 30 hr min( recreation ) or the 40 hour private ticket? Either way, if I am not mistaken, maybe it says experimental on it? Again, that aircraft is sweet, and a joy to look at- I was hoping someone would crank it up and take off!

  • Actually, you do not need a license to fly a home built aircraft. as long as you completed at least 50% of the work on the aircraft. It would be considered an experimental aircraft, they have to pass a simple visual inspection. you don't have to prove it can fly before you're allowed to fly it.

  • @ihoppoet wrong, you do need a license, and you have to get it signed off by the faa. it can only be certified as experimental if the owner/builder did 51% of the construction him/herself.

  • @ihoppoet yes, you do neeed a license......

  • @ihoppoet Actually, yes you do, unless it is a legal ultralight. Otherwise, it will be in the "Experimental" category and licensing requirements for the pilot will be the same as if it were factory-built (Sport Pilot, Private Pilot, Multi-Engine rating, etc as the case may be). For more information, see the EAA website.

  • @ihoppoet You need at least a Sport Airplanes License to Fly it, like the Ultralight category, the Skye's are busy with all types of planes/helis, you need to know how to handle the Radios and other things, the Skye's are Realy Bureaucratic... Sadly, but its for the security of everyone. if the Car is a Weapon what wold you think a Plane is? XDD

  • Notice, no one is licensed to fly the thing, nor will anyone be... Disaster waiting to happen no matter how good of life insurance you have

  • lmaooo the camra man has A.D.D u see how she follows the little helicopter

  • a perfect example of the American spirit !

  • Looks like a roadster of the sky, like an old lotus, maybe an mx5, lol, but way madder!

  • Yes- flies- for how long.

Where are the stress failure reports, the detailed structural analyses, safety features? What are the exact figures for catastrophic failure?

    Idiocy beyond verbal expression.

What passes as acceptable in the USA would get you locked up for life in Europe- in a padded cell and stuffed full of Tamazepam for public safety.

  • @SignoroIncognito Sounds nice!

  • They fly amature built aircraft in Euope too. As for stress reports and the like, most Experimental a/c are designed by engineers. Of course these a/c are not cerified for production in the Normal Catagory so they have not been "proven" to the FAA, which is why they are considered "Experimental."

  • @SignoroIncognito let's hope we never have the european style repression/oppression here, though obama and the dems are desperately trying to take us there.

  • cool!!

  • if i spent that long building something like that i wouldnt bother flying it i'd just look at it all day

  • super coolll very nice

  • very nice, I fly the model airplanes. Also I want to get my pilots licence. This would be nice to have, just to fly around.

  • thats a lie tell them the truth i built it and sold it to them!

  • @xxxbmxerxxx1 no, u wish u built it and sold it to them.

  • FLY IT ALREADY!!!!!!

  • this is home built and not home made.

  • @mrdojob same fuckin thing. most american products either say made in china or built in china. or taiwan. same fuckin thing

  • something tells me if you build stuff like this, the government keeps an eye on you..

  • give me 5 bucks and I will testflight

  • @guitarheroNL I will pay 5 bucks to test flight

  • lovely

but the only thing is the wings

    are they enough strong ???

  • @SuperNick134 well, im not 100% sure but the minimum weight that they need to be able to carry on each side is 250kg...when you home build your aircraft you need an inspector to come check on it every now and then and they the ones that test the wings' strengh

  • well im happy for the old guys

  • well im happy for the old guys :)

  • well im happy for the old guys;)

  • Vaguely like the old Stits Flutterbug design...especially the mid wing configuration.

  • Kinda looks like the fisher avenger.?

  • Hope to see this plane in Oshkosh!

  • god bless the one who flies it

  • god bless the one who flies it

  • god bless the one who flies it

  • god bless the one who flies it

  • Too cool!

  • do you have a video of it flying?

  • do you have a video of it flying?

  • Go BUCKEYES!

  • trophy? or paper weight?

  • @starstarstar42 I good way of looking at it...

  • @starstarstar42 I good way of looking at it...

  • @starstarstar42 I good way of looking at it...

  • @starstarstar42 I good way of looking at it...

  • @starstarstar42 I good way of looking at it...

  • I remember reading a brief comment in Aviation Week magazine back in the 90's by Burt Ruttan. It mentioned that a working version of the Wright Brother's first plane could be built for $293.17 in materials and all the materials could be bought from Home Depot including the motor. It would be about as dangerous to fly as the original of course, but it could be done. So, if you want it bad enough, $300 gets you in the air (and probably 6 feet under the ground 30 seconds later).

  • IN the magazine, that $293.17 was referring to modern day or back in the 90's? I mean a motor that can make you take off will take MORE then $300

  • @Andehzarz I think the motor was $3,000 not $300.....

  • @starstarstar42 hahah nice

  • @prototype21 you can not make the prop any bigger as it will reduce the amount of power out put from the engine you fool

  • I bought a plane with a try prop. It's a Mini Max like this one but I need a motor for it. I need to go get it yet too. I'm looking into VW motors. I don't trust Snowmobile motors at all.

  • thats a awfully small propeller, if you can extended it 200-300% i bet it would fly much much faster than 60-70mph.

  • maybe that propeller would be heavier and you know....

  • bigger engine bigger propeller bigger gas tank fly across the world

  • bet a small child could fly in it XD

  • @bderousse small child! it looks like it could seat a man...of course the engine isnt that powerful

  • Terrible photographer, WTF!?

  • B29Bomber: You are wrong, sir. My Cessna 172 flies just fine on motor fuel, unless it has alcohol in it. It's the ethanol that will destroy the fuel system components (NOT the engine).

  • fine

  • Photography is very bad .. Why this ??

  • Photography is very bad .. Why this ???

  • your Lenny and he's Lue, im rubber and your glue

  • funny

  • Some aircraft engines you can use auto fuel just fine. When gas was pretty expensive for awhile 100LL aviation fuel was a bit more expensive than 89 octane auto fuel so for awhile we brought like 7 gas cans on the way into the airport and filled them up at the gas station. Saved a few bucks and the 172 ran just fine with it. So it doesn't automatically ruin an aircraft engine and it's not like putting diesel in a gas engine, aviation gas is just more refined for the most part, higher octane.

  • stick to RC that way you get to reach an old age ,nice plane BUT DOES IT FLY ?

  • He did. He's no spring chicken afterall. Now he's poised to have a ball or burn out instead of fading away. I wish him all the best!

  • where didi you get a jit for 10,000!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • is there someway you can use normal fuel in a aircraft engine or would it just destroy the engine

  • destroy completely.

like putting diesel in a gasoline engine.

  • like it but show it being flown

  • that's so friking adorable!!!!!

a moter bike engen a lode of ply-wood and a few roles of coton and cors and hay presto.. love it!

  • Go indiana!

  • Yeah i was born and just moved here again :)

  • That's a great looking little plane, thanks for the video.

  • Get a small v12 in that plane and a seat. AND I promise that I can sit in the plane and fly it ;)

    I only weight 52 kilos.

  • hmm, 60mph. and burns 1 1/2 gallons per hour, gets pretty good gas mileage huh?

  • O-H-I-O!!

  • You should turbocharge it! And add Water methanol injection

  • all i know is that i wouldn't ride in this thing without a parachute and a good health insurance.

  • only a parachute and a helmet

  • @castillo911 you mean life

  • @castillo911 if you flew in this and it went tits up good life insurance would be better, lol.

  • @castillo911

If you don't understand enough about it to be able to do it safely, you may as well forget the parachute and insurance, too. Like anything else, if you have a passion for it, then learn what you need to know, and go for it. If you are not interested, choose something else to do..

  • @castillo911 Not health insurance, LIFE Insurance!

  • would it roll down a grass field runway without breaking? and if you had a successful flight can you imagine taxing up to your local FAA inspector and him seeing that ! jee whiz you would loose everything you have in fines!

  • No, if you would llok it up, there are a decent number of minimax's flying, some have even been registered into the light sport category so they could bump up the fuel tank.

  • this isnt the only homebuilt aircraft in the world... the FAA stamps a EXPEREMENTAL sticker on it and allows you to fly it after 50 hours of test flights

  • You're a fucking idiot. They are called E-LSA aircraft they are legal to fly under a sport license or equivalent. Oh and yea you can take off on a grass field.

  • Dude, they have a bunch of those at an airport near me. They are perfectly fine.

  • ohio state sucks.

  • AMEN!!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

  • not a good idea having the struts attatched to the u/c

  • Umm, yea, because like they have only been doing it like that since the 30's and there wouldn't be more that a couple hundred thousand aircraft flying with struts attached to the undercarrage

  • lol nice and true

  • that has to be the stupidest comment i have ever heard lol

  • Not Bad

  • get that shet in the air

  • where can i get cheap ultralight?

  • u should test that shit out, and stay outa my laundry

  • i just love airplanes <3

  • W00T! go OSU!

  • fly that shit already

  • what´s the aairplane´s name¿?

  • what´s the name of the airplane?

  • i just cant fucking bleieve it.

    they r fucking awesome

  • 200 mile range at 60mph, not bad.

  • can u guys send me the blueprins plaese couse my big bro got a flying liscence and i wana get him a plane for his birthday

  • it says in the description that its a "Mini-Max" kit.

You should search that on the internet

  • wow how do you fit in that tiny helicopter?

  • its R/C.

  • haha

  • You are so god damn retarded its not even funny.

  • I Fly Two Seated Planes

  • AHAHAHAHAAH he farted at 4:53

  • Model helicopter sound.

  • @IrenaScott get a life

  • Well, it seems to be a good plane, but I think that we all wanted to be on the air!! And more details. It's such a pity that you were able to build an airplane but you were not able to get a good camera man!!

  • That is SO cool

  • WAISTED &MIN #$ SEC OF MY LIFE. man u dont even fly it
