  • "OHHHHHHHHHHHHH....bloody hell"

    Nice reaction times haha

  • Oh aye , your attitude is somewhat different when the persons not sat behind the wheel of a car , even though this was clearly her fault you all like"oh it's alright" I can't wait to see an upload of you getting mashed by a combine harvester .

  • @Keir316 well perhaps thats a sign of just how dangerous cars are then! if he had a full on collision with even the biggest pedestrian then the damage would be fairly limited- but if he were to crash into/ get hit by even the smallest car he could be dead! thats what the big deal with car drivers is!

  • @Keir316 Maybe because there's a difference when people apologise. Watch more videos, there's near misses with cars and he doesn't explode if someone immediately apologises and accepts fault.

Also, like @mr420b said, hitting a paedestrian in the wrong will probably hurt the paedestrian more. But being hit by (or hitting) a car, it can be deadly.

  • @Keir316 A car failed to stop at a stop sign and drove on in front of me from a side street. I hit them going 28mph downhill! I'm lucky to be alive (and it was a close)! If a paedestrian did the same - they could be badly hurt, but the injuries to me could be far less substantial than the brute force of going from 28mph to 0mph against a steel monster.

And that driver will now be doing a faily lengthy jail sentance - so thankfully at least the justice system doesn't agree with your idiocity!

  • Please reply, i am just wondering why you believe no one pays a road tax and that they pay vehicle exercise(is that right?). I am not disagreeing with you i just don't understand this too well.

  • @magnalightify In the UK, road tax was abolished by Winston Churchill in 1937, to prevent drivers feeling like they own the road. Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) is what the tax disk in your car represents. It is based entirely on the CO2 emissions of a vehicle, and if a vehicle produces less than 99g of CO2 per kilometre, VED is free. This is why the argument that cyclists don't pay road tax and shouldn't be on the road is invalid. There is no relationship between spending on the road VED.

  • @maidstoneonbike ah thank you very much

  • Your good, i don,t think i would have seen her.

  • A lit cigarette could function as a signal, right?

  • whats the little thingy in the corner?

  • She looked to be stoned out of her gourd, but maybe it was shock. I bet she still secretly thinks it was your fault.

  • Blimey, that made me jump. Good reactions.

  • God help these people when everyone drives quiet electric cars..

  • @pumpkinzer0 Jeremy Clarkson... Is that YOU!?

  • see, now thats how incidents like this should be handled! A honest sorry, a honest thats ok and all is good in the world!

  • She looks quite wet, I bet she can`t wait to change her underwear, love the defensive move to save that fag.

  • Good brakes!!! Don't know how you stopped that fast in the wet, my bike would have kept going for atleast another 6 feet. Nice one :D

  • @ribblestealth Look stop dual compound pads. Wouldn't use any other pads. :-)

  • @ribblestealth i do with my bike bout 50kmh (30-35mph), and when i brake with both brakes i would of easily stopped in that situation without hitting her, doesnt matter if its wet or dry =P my bike is: Gazelle a dutch brand and yes i live in the netherlands.

  • Couldn't actually see anything but anticipated it (good job really seeing how I'm an instructor lol) Nice example of expect everything to go wrong cos one day it does. cheers.

  • @RoadcraftNottingham Looked at your vids. Very good. I'll keep an eye out for more. :-)

  • advanced reflexes!

  • Should be a law that all pedestrians should wear hi viz & helmets & be lit up after dark IMHO.

& why are they allowed to use the carriageway when they don't pay road tax or have a license?

    ;o)

  • I thought maybe a parked car was going to pull out on you with no lights on.

  • @Mango38

    me too.

  • Also, good breakes.

  • "Just be thankful I'm not an oil tanker." I LoLed a bit at that comment.

  • Why does she duck???

  • Dressed like a ninja, pity she didn't have the reactions of one....

  • Apologises can only go so far, but if one continues to do manoeuvres like that, her life may not continue for long! ; > +

  • i think if it was a bloke you would of sworn or something lol

  • 13mph does seem slow for you, was it the conditions?

  • @electrictactical There was a red light up ahead so there was no point in racing.....what am I saying! There is always a point in racing.... ;-)

  • ....LOL.

  • I have to say, I did see it coming but only because this happens to me several times every day on my commute. I am constantly on the lookout for pedestrians jumping out from behind cars in ninja outfits. I have even resorted to cycling past parked cars ringing my bell when it's really dark. Good job on the stopping!

  • Bloody hell fire! I knew something was coming, but I fair jumped! Well, at leasted she still clutched at her fag, I'm sure that was puffed cold after that close call! :D

  • @DanielVectra212 You took the words right of my mouth, especially about the fag!!!

  • You where only able to stop in time for that because you are such a slow coach. 13mph pfft. (not that I can say much, first ride today in 2 weeks and the christmas feasts have certainly not helped) :P

  • Fucking hell, she literally came from nowhere,

she also looks like a zombie at 0:19 haha

  • I was looking at that car that over took you waiting for it to hit something then "WWWWOOOAAAAAA" and I poo'd myself.

  • more like out of the black

  • Good job, Magnatom!!

  • @Docroddy Good job for scaring someone from Partick you mean?!? ;-)

  • Good job dodging that one. She did look like a poor we soul.

  • @robojimpip I think that was because I nearly knocked her over! She was very quick to apologise. :-)

  • Fecking 'ell! I can only say you avoided her due to instinct, i'm sure I read somewhere we are always subconsciously processing information on our peripheral vision - thankfully in this case you spotted her and reacted in time! Good work :-)

  • @SkrzypczykBass It's a strange one. I think I saw her before I realised I did. As you say, somewhere in the subconscious I spotted her!

  • Sounds like impressive g's in the wet, (just wondering how many g's before you lock up or go over the top) you were both very lucky there

  • @TheVexatiousLitigant Good question. I think my back wheel may have lifted a little, but hard to tell.

  • That is one very lucky lady. Had you been a car, a motorcycle, she would almost certainly be in hospital right now.

  • WHOOAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • My bikes brakes suck because I'm cheap and irresponsible. I would have plowed that lady over with her lacking fight or flight response.

  • Good job you weren't shoulder checking at that point. That wasn't very Tufty Club, crossing between cars. Tutt.

  • @MelloVEL0 I had glanced to the right just before. I looked forward and there she was. I think her hi-vis fag was what I spotted first! :-)

  • @magnatom ....lol, make it a legal requirement that all

pedestrians at night should have Hi-viz fags.

  • @MelloVEL0 Now that would make an interesting campaign... ;-)

  • @magnatom ...A fag saved my life....Always have a fag (Ok, America might not 'grasp' that one) *cough* ;-)

  • @magnatom Smoking saves lives! :-)

  • Well done. Maybe Bikes should be fitted with a machine that makes car sounds. Or have a man with a red flag walk in front :).

  • And lol, you beat me to it, I was going to do an accelerometer signal video overlay, but you did it first!

  • by the way has that camera got a built in g force and speed ???

  • @ASHLambretta It has GPS which it can use to calculate speed and deceleration (G force)

  • @magnatom

if you dont mind me asking which camera is it ???

  • @ASHLambretta It's a Contour GPS. Good camera. :-)

  • Nicely spotted! What are you measuring speed and G force with? Phone GPS + Accelerometer?

  • @alexwarrior1 It is just frm GPS data from the Contour GPS. It measures at 2Hz (although it an measure 4Hz).

  • @magnatom ah, gotcha. Neat radar-plot visualization.

  • @alexwarrior1 Aye, it's from Dashware. Very easy to use.

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooww!

    (aaahhahah lol)

  • these magicians popping out everywhere

  • firstt 1strtt i w3uinbn

  • @ZaxIntel You lost me there! :-)
