I reckon this is a pretty good performance by any standard, better than many recorded versions, and just the more remarkable that the pianist is only 12. I agree that there is real feeling, not robotic. 5 stars for me.
Excellent performance. If I were to be picky - the slower section at the start could be a little slower, which I think would allow for a little more expression. I think the second last chord before the final slow section could have been held a little longer, and the same comment would apply to the 2nd last chord of the movement. But I think you did an excellent job, particurarly at your age to get your fingers around a piece that is rather difficult, and with so much expression
excellent interpretation! I kind of play it like this... really similar... you're great keep up that playing! One thing though... don't be afraid of when you see an opportunity to really let the fingers fly and to really pound down on the keys. It's a fairly angry piece and as such I think you should show a huge difference in volume and just intensity between the grave section and the allegro... but that's just an opinion. Tell me if I'm wrong though...
It is amazing to see your progress in this sonata No. 8, said the pathetic ...
31 December 2008 to 26 January 2009 and sincerely! I send you my congratulations. It is obvious that your progress confirms your future talent to conquer the concert halls of our planet.
What a wonderful interpretation of this beautiful sonata! I was studying it too, but my teacher said I'd better try an easier Beethoven sonata ^.^ You are great!
Congratulations for making the Crescendo's International Competition! You played very nicely, with beautiful expressions and feelings. Definitely *****
Magnificent Bethany. Whatever reason Beethovan had for naming this piece 'Pathetique' (maybe he was having a bad hair day!) it is quite the opposite;. Beautiful, captivating, (like you), at times gentle and sweet and then becoming demanding, powerful and challenging. Your beautifully expressive handling of it was fantastic. Congratulations on that and for (as Vivian has mentioned) winning the competition. Great work.
wow bethany i concur with Mr. Babayev: you play magnificently and that you deserve to go to Ukraine :) I feel that the way you play was sooooo good. congratulations again on getting accepted into Ukraine
One beastly 12 year old, great job.

It's good to see a young person play with emotion...and NOT just be a robot manufactured for the satisfaction of career driven parents.

She is really good. Best recording so far and the sound from the Steinway sounds excellent.

It's okay, but lost some of its dynamics because of the slowness. But heck, dexterity will come in time. Kudos to this little girl.
