  • One beastly 12 year old, great job.

  • Nice job on the trills in the cross-over section.

  • i really like the way you play

  • aw man i played this at 11, and much faster =[ wish i knew about this contest earlier :o

  • I agree. The grave part was too fast. But this is amazing. I'm just beginning to play this.

  • I reckon this is a pretty good performance by any standard, better than many recorded versions, and just the more remarkable that the pianist is only 12. I agree that there is real feeling, not robotic. 5 stars for me.

  • Oh I've forgot to say that was very strong performance.

  • I'm speechless...

  • beautiful! but grave is way too fast! aleegro molto e con brio part is good

  • 5 STARS!! that was amazing!!

  • guys, she's 12...give her a break! she did great for a 12 year old not having professional level lessons. props to her!

  • bethany made it to carnegie hall!

  • It's good to see a young person play with emotion...and NOT just be a robot manufactured for the satisfaction of career driven parents.

  • @angelxxxcore no offense, but i think its alittle too fast and sounds like jazz to me^_^

  • @korfreak I actually think some parts are a little too slow

  • cool for 12

  • It's not fair.... lol j/k

    This girl's good!

  • Bravo!!

  • how could you not rate this five stars? I just started piano, and i hope i can be just as good one day...hahaha dreams...

  • .... piano just aint my thing

  • Excellent performance. If I were to be picky - the slower section at the start could be a little slower, which I think would allow for a little more expression. I think the second last chord before the final slow section could have been held a little longer, and the same comment would apply to the 2nd last chord of the movement. But I think you did an excellent job, particurarly at your age to get your fingers around a piece that is rather difficult, and with so much expression

  • theres this one section could be played with a faster tempo, but other then that, this piece was played beautifully!

    5*

  • Wonderful ! So impressive*****

  • She is really good. Best recording so far and the sound from the Steinway sounds excellent.

  • It's okay, but lost some of its dynamics because of the slowness. But heck, dexterity will come in time. Kudos to this little girl.

  • 0:08. he talks funny

  • Great performance! Congratulations!

  • excellent interpretation! I kind of play it like this... really similar... you're great keep up that playing! One thing though... don't be afraid of when you see an opportunity to really let the fingers fly and to really pound down on the keys. It's a fairly angry piece and as such I think you should show a huge difference in volume and just intensity between the grave section and the allegro... but that's just an opinion. Tell me if I'm wrong though...

    :^)

  • What an honor to play at Carnegie!

    Keep up the keys!

  • Very impressive Bethany! Loved the performance!

    Thanks

  • It is amazing to see your progress in this sonata No. 8, said the pathetic ...

31 December 2008 to 26 January 2009 and sincerely! I send you my congratulations. It is obvious that your progress confirms your future talent to conquer the concert halls of our planet.

  • What a wonderful interpretation of this beautiful sonata! I was studying it too, but my teacher said I'd better try an easier Beethoven sonata ^.^ You are great!

  • Hello! My name is Jessica. Your piano playing is faboulus. I was wondering if I could have your piano teacher' number. Thanks!

  • Wonderful performance, Bethany! You play well enough to even play at Carnegie Hall! :) Congratulations!

  • BRAVO ! ! ! all the stars for you !!!

  • That was totally awesome performance Bethany

    Congrats *****STAR*****

  • Magnificent Bethany. Whatever reason Beethovan had for naming this piece 'Pathetique' (maybe he was having a bad hair day!) it is quite the opposite;. Beautiful, captivating, (like you), at times gentle and sweet and then becoming demanding, powerful and challenging. Your beautifully expressive handling of it was fantastic. Congratulations on that and for (as Vivian has mentioned) winning the competition. Great work.

    In tune

    Lalita.

  • Wonderful! (*^^*)

  • Congradulation! Oh, it is my biggest dream to play in Carnegie, but I'm not that good!
