Thank you so much for making these videos! I am going to the snow for the first time and its these kind of things that have been weirding me out! but now i am thinking its all cool!
Went today. Your advice was right on. Especially "getting perpendicularity, keeping the board straight, and lowering the shoulder over the foot." I kept track today, I had a successful chair dismount ratio of 75%. A great day.

i should have browse for this video before i went for my first snow boarding experience early today.... i didn't know how to walk w one foot on the board and i fell off the chair as i went off the lifting chair... not to mention how i fell of the board kabillion time before i finally asked the crew member to help me getting off the long ass track.... I'd love to try it on more time though
as a skier this seems a little exessive and tedious but thanks a lot for covering every little detail, I know that having a great ski instructor helped me a ton with a lot of things that come up your first time on a mountain, this video is great for beginners to snow sports in general
my boyfriend is afraid of heights so we would just shut down on the lifts. when we would get off the lift he would be so tense he would always turn inwards instead of out! he would take out all of us! i positioned him on the end so he could turn out & he still wouldent.he took me out once so bad our boards got stuck and we tumbled & my gloves fell off the lift people yelled so i ended up swearing and pushing him back on the ground instead of helping up!! just the rage took over haha!!!
Even though I'm good at snowboarding, I still like watching these videos to see how the instructors are teaching. I have to say, man you have done a great job at the videos I have seen. Keep it up!
After taking a lesson, I was still struggling with heel and toe edge side slipping and was redy to give up learning to snowboard. After watching these videos a couple of times, I tried again and was successful. Thanks for the help, you ought to bring a DVD out!
dude its eaiser to get up if you go from ur stomich and then trun ur baord to the right or left which ever way u like it then ur on ur knees and hands then just push up and ur ready to go!
great vid by the way i never knew how to get on a lift!!!
i fell as i was getting off the ski lift once... the other chair went right over my head. ive also fell on my friend a couple times... hahaha good times :)
i find it way easy if u loosly boot your front strap clipped in on the back bindings (very loose) and when u get near the the end u just slip you're foot into itthen do up the other straps and tighten the binings strap and u ready to go!
This is an awesome tutorial - most improtant thing - you aren't boring :D A little joke once in a while wouldn't hurt, but generally you are easy to listen to, use simple understandable language, and you are very professional with sufficient level of understanding the problems of the beginners - GREAT VID !
this is awesome, thank you for posting it, im still falling and having issues. I'm getting back on the slopes soon. This video has a lot of useful tips!
Man i hope one day in the future we can install the whole manual in our brains and just ride im a beginner and i suck but i keep getting better i really want to become the best than i am now because i love the air when you ride and that sweet freedom when you go down the mountain
weeeeeeelllll sometimes the edge of the board pulls your other boot loose a little bit. something else you could do is hold the tail of the board from the back of the chair with your hand
true man, but once at home, i noticed a little cut in my pants. I don't know if it's due to a crash with my friend (and the edge of his board cutted my pants) or if i cutted them by myself with your "tecnique".. but i agree completely, it's damn comfortable :D
Great job with your video lessons. I am an older beginner snowboarder (44) and after taking a couple of hours of private lessons, watching your videos really helped understand the basic mechanics of snowboarding. Thanks !
Hehe... the lift has been the most problematic issue I had when I started boarding.... getting off was a pain :( Getting on was easy but it took me a while to master getting off without falling
I'm regular at skateboard but at snow...i just can't tell, any tips?

do ripsticking and snowboarding have similar principles?
LEG1N4M3NT 2 years ago 2
@ LEG1N4M3NT
Quick answer: No. However, when doing sharp turns, yes. Also you can find out which foot you want to lead with by how you ride a ripstick.
