Did you say pro???? Myself and many others have been jumping off of that rock since we were kids. There are many drops within about a half an hours drive that would most likely make you shart your wet suit. Try some 80'+ jumps then post them. Good try though.
They tell you not to do things you see because these guys are professionals...ever meet a pro who hasn't ever missed? What exactly makes a pro, a pro? You don't get to know your boundaries and just what you can do without taking any risks. But, thank you all for being concerned about a stranger. As an EMT, I know the feeling and also what it means to be a first responder. Haven't needed one in quite some time and I still have full mobility. :)
Yes, this is Chico Creek, in Chico, CA. Thanks, to all for the warnings. I've learned how to be careful and just where my limits are and what are apparently huge risks to some, are very calculated chances with the odds in my favor.
Thanks! Actually, I've done a lot worse. While I am a self admitted adrenaline junkie, I also tend to calculate very carefully whether or not I can do what I set out to do. I always check the water prior to jumping and have been jumping and swimming and snorkeling in rivers, creeks and streams since before puberty.
I've also found a wetsuit permits a much longer time in less than toasty water as well as a measure of "insulation" against slapping water and even abbrasion against the rocks. But, thanks for the simplified opinion. I aim to please, thrill, or simply cause a shake of the head. :)
