  • True artists can make art given any tool.

  • Wow this is amazing. Great use of the values. All it takes is learning how the pen writes n at what pressures. I draw with pen a lot so I know the different pressures for the different pens I use. I jus wish I could draw portraits like him. Amazing work!

  • You should draw the adult version of her. :)

  • this is simply amazing.

  • How in the heck did you do the shading though!?

  • @DMoore6977 I was wondering the exact same thing D:

i draw with pen a lot, and i never knew you could shade like that using only a pen!

  • @DMoore6977 depends on how hard u use the pen :)

  • Me: i'm going to try this

    10 seconds later

    Me: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • Lindo, maravilhoso, impressionante!!!

  • Boy sure has chubby cheeks.

  • I want you to draw me like one of your french girls....

  • how the hell?!?

  • I'm kind of curious as to why you chose blue. Also, do you always do photo-realism and work off of reference photos, or do you do other things? I'd like to know. ^^

  • i didnt know my pen can do that o.o..

  • After Watching This, i feel like...fuck i dont know, but i feel bad :SSS

  • I didnt even know it was possible to shade with a pen

    cgsbgs:Madness? THIS. IS. ARTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • well we have come a long way from cave paintings.... awesum!! very talented

  • AWEsome

  • Well that's nice, but easy when u have a model next to you.

I prefer when u do original work :)

  • you are by light years far the best artist I ever saw.

  • @kibanchi I would disagree that this is necessarilly "art". It is fine technique and drafting, but in the end it is copying a photograph. Art (in my opinion) follows a path of creation in the artists mind. It is a personal creation that seperates itself from "commercial art". No insult intended to this fine draftsman.

  • @alfrank2000 just because someone copies a photo doesn't mean it is not considered art. Anyone trying to go for something realistic, or sometimes even not, will, 9 times out of 10, have some kind of reference material. Because he is drawing from a photo, how different is that from if he was drawing it from life? Would that to not really count as art?

  • @EmoPankakes Fine artists do use reference, but always as just a part of a greater whole. You may use a photo of a 53 Ford for a street scene, but the car itself is simply an element. Americans on the whole have never been educated in art. In America Illustration and drafting are considered art because they are seen in advertising so often. Art is personal. The best analogy I can think of is this: drawing from a photograph is like stretching a hamstring, true art is winning a marathon.

  • Have you been drawing on your textbooks? >:)

  • mes videos a moi :D

  • you. and your drawings. inspire me. so. much. but then whenever i try it doesn't come out anywhere near as good as yours. you're amazing so keep up the good work. btw~ i'm 14 and wanting to become an artist as good as you. any tips? :)

  • @HaleyChan111 practice practice practice, im not him but i am a pretty good artist and i can truly say that practice is all you need, and some constructive criticism wouldnt hurt, when u draw a pic, show it off, and if anyone says anything bad about it dont get insulted, take note of it so that u can improve on it the next time.

  • If I were to steal your talent I'd need a crane

  • how?????

  • you're the closest thing to god. and god is me.(it's a joke.)

  • Someone... just someone tell me he's got horrible social skills. Or SOMETHING. It doesn't even have to be true.

  • Can you please tell me how to do the light shading? I keep ending with really strong lines when I draw. And it's my art final exam.

  • @Icekler use a smudger or for ballpoint in particular use a sheet from a bed or a towel to blend the ink.

  • @masterchaosdemon Thanks :) Anyways I figured out I could handle the pen with very little pressure to make light shaded lines.

  • my photos don't look half as good :/

  • Very nice

  • O M GG

  • Aww shes so cute! Well done.

  • I like drawing with a Ballpoint pen.

  • Now im sure that he use magic to do this

  • Comment removed

  • how much time did u take in this?

  • What kind of steroids are you using ?

  • OMG! He is so good I bet he can do something amazing with an eraser and some whiteout...

  • Epeleptic dogs

  • can i point 1 "error"? just a try.... parts of the neck and the nose ... and the glasses is crooked but i think its intentional.... hey, just a try... am not good myself. :-)

  • There's mistakes in this? I can't tell lol

  • what a genius!

  • @novicegaming101

    RE: Shading with a pen;

A ball point pen has an extremely limited flow rate you can take advantage of, using it almost like a pencil. you can use Hatching, or building values starting light and going over it again and again until you have the right depth of value in that area. You can control a ball point pen very easily, but it won't stand up to time at all.

  • C'est fantastique. La petite fille est belle et mignon avec ses lunettes étant disproportion

    . Bien jouer. Amasing.

  • @novicegaming101

Go over it lightly and softly

  • Magnifique!

  • @novicegaming101 You can sometimes use the side of the pen, it will come out light ^^ I've done it befooree

  • I know i already said this in another video but i feel like i should say it again. Your attention to detail is amazing, sorry for repeating myself but it is with the digital stuff you do to this not a single speck of shading seems to go unnoticed.

  • I am speechless... and btw, I read the description and I already found a mistake in this pic but still, GREAT WORK

  • i too draw with a ball point pen. i draw cartoons though, you should do some cartoons man, it'd really help inspire me

  • No Music Thats Bad, But The Picture Is very Good

  • como haces tu las sombras con un lapicero??? oO

  • Wow. Wow wow wow wow wow. And a PEN! Wow. I don't see how it is possible that anyone could've disliked this.

  • This is beautiful, and you are very talented.

  • either the camera's position is incorrect or the face is out of proportion - not jealousness intended - sorry to haters of my comment

  • You are sooo amazing!!!!

You are my role-model in the art world. :P

I'm not as good as you but I'm practicing a bunch and I'm gonna try really hard to be such a amazing artist like you!!

I love your art you inspire me to draw more and more!

  • @novicegaming101 Ow yea I forgot, you use both techniques at the same painting to blend the shades even more.

You can do this with any pen but if you really like this style you need more than one pen with different pen thickness, funny but the thick pens do make better shades than the thin once that are good for making outer lines in a drawing for a much sharper result.

    Hope this clears your question.

  • @novicegaming101 With two ways.

First way is by pressure, it is a ball pen with ink that is like jelly, the more you press the thicker the line the less you press the thinner the line to the point that you barely touch the surface thus making a thin thin line.

And the second way is by doing \\\\\ motions and then ///// motions making a X net.

And so the illusion of shade, this technical is one pain in the ass, I know… I use it.

  • @novicegaming101 I think it's with equally spaced dots. More dots gives the illusion of a darker shade. xD

  • thats one hell of a pen (my pens last 5 mins -.-) o.o looks awesome though

  • @SatanikScrotumus Great! Then explain. =_=

  • proportion mistakes?????...all kids have ridiculously big heads and small bodies.thats what makes them so cute.lol just dont tell their parents... nobody told mine.

  • I wanna go to your house and search for all your tools and masterpieces and hug 'em and you O.O c:

  • Awesome.....

  • this goes to show a real artist doesn't need expensive materials

  • Realy amazing!!! Congratulation!

  • YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

  • WHAT are you?

  • @JKRowling123 Hes god xD

  • @JKRowling123 he is a printer

  • @JKRowling123 HE IS ORIENTAL I TINK ^^

SERA QUE ES ORIENTAL (JAPONES O CHINO ) NO TIENE TALENTO ESTE HOMBRE

  • Awesome..... Great talent.....

Those who criticise your work ... should either put their work up for us to see ... or shut up

  • pedobear

  • @novicegaming101 it's the same as shading with a pencil except you use a LOT less pressure. thats all :) it's actually quite simple with a ball point pen :D

  • this is really beautiful, i also draw and shade with pens but no where as good as you :)

  • u should be 1 of thoose ppl that stands on tha street and draw ppl, for money XD

Just for a littel time :P

  • Drawing with pens is so fun.

  • U see, my pen does not do that.... that pen does suck! jjejejeje U are amazing dude! just amazing!

  • the mona lisa was imperfect most of it was based off of himself so stop whining imperfections are what make it art

  • @novicegaming101 Pressure is the key,. tilting it to the side, the angle at which you hold the pen. I use the cheapest pens I can cause I go thru them so much. It must be ball point if you want smooth and not hatched shading.

  • and me, that just thought a ball-pen was for writing...

    ::O

  • @ASuperGa And you know killing monsters......

  • @ASuperGa Agreed

  • I love how her glasses are crooked. Very cute!

  • @novicegaming101 crosshatching.

  • @novicegaming101

The same way you do with a pencil, the trick is using a cheapo Bic pen rather than a more expensive gel-ink one.

  • @novicegaming101 pushing hard or soft and gradually pushing harder or lighter

  • @novicegaming101 more or less pressure

  • Any advice on how to prevent the pen from letting out excessive amounts of ink? i.e; splotches, leaks, etc.

  • @novicegaming101 The pressure of your hand when you're drawing determines whether or not the shade is dark.

  • No room for mistakes here D:

  • Go and become my teacher!

  • how can you dislike this!!!!! people must be jeleous

  • teach me how to do dat !

  • She looks like a guy I know. He's 12.

  • @novicegaming101 thin lines and thick lines xD

  • ....WOOOOW........

  • @novicegaming101 same as with a pencil, don't push as hard.

  • and the awesome part is holding the videocam while doing this!!!! jk. you're so inspiring.

  • wow

  • Omg, she's so cute!!

  • These pens are quite amazing..

  • I'm just wondering how you did the skin shading with the pen? Finger smudging or fine lines?

And also I find it interesting how you can draw werewolves and dragons, but also pictures of sweet little kids.

Not many artists do that, even with talent.

  • WOW! look what he can do with that Pentel Wow!

  • amazing talent...drawing with a ball point pen is not easy but see...you can do it.your a true artist.can you draw me....hehehehe,i just really admire you coz your one of the best artist i saw in youtube.

  • true art, natural talent, born artist

  • how?!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hOW?

  • You are awesome!! I'm very inspired by you .. thanks!

  • If you can't do better, it's best to just shut the fuck up! Come on now, how can you say this isn't good, when 1st of all he's drawing in PEN...There may be imperfections, but it's way better then some of you trash talkin' a-holes can do...especially just using a pen and not being able to erase.

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • Dude, this is amazing!!!

  • Draw some hairy balls please :D i am joking nice vid ! :D

  • ..Its not easy to do that..you're gOOD,,WITHOUT USING ERASER,,!! EVER...tUMBZZ Up..^_^)hope to see you..hehe

  • Ok, I've seen like 10 videos of you painting many things with the computer\pencil\pen and you're so good!

even my stick man looks bad :(

  • pretty good

  • @Zargogo

    wat do u mean"pretty good"

    thats awsome :P

  • it's amazing! she's adorable :D

  • how do u shade with a pen?!

  • ahahahahahahah....this guy can draw his own sex fantasy girl in detail ,or any beautyfull women naked in detali,

  • @MrOneStepToHell That's a whole lot of projecting you're doing there.

  • that's amazing, hope i can draw like that someday ^^

  • you are absolutely brilliant!

  • how on earth can 15 people dislike this????????????

dont they know the meaning of art???

  • @polengsantiago some people are just retarded, no appreciation whatsoever

  • the little girls right shoulder/neck and arm...right?....but of course I never seen the reference picture either...maybe she is just built funny and you nailed it...lol

  • This is GREAT. and YES, it is hard to achieve a realistic portrait with ink and you have a great eye for detail which is so apparent. and it should shut the mouths of the people who wanna comment on your "Digital Arts" and say you have no talent strictly because youre using a computer. I am an artist also and I appreciate and love to look at other peoples art of ANY mediums. who cares what means you use to translate visions and skills. BTW the only thing I see the might be out of proportion is..

  • too bad.

  • Nice but you could have added more detail 2 the neck. it looks lyke it's missing sumting...

  • thats sick man... nice job ... i like drawing asweel but never done something that looks so real :X i am good at copying stuffs... ill try it out someday and see hows going on ,,,

  • And they thought you needed PhotoShop. You have done some of the best work I have ever seen.

  • Beautiful drawing of a little girl. Anthropometrically correct. No single human feature is proportionate. There is always diversity and variation on the same facial features. Very well done.

  • Cute :D

  • bravo!!!!!!!

  • ยอดมาก.......

  • i wish i had artistic skills

  • This Fortist is one dumb dude..

  • This is absolutely fantastic work! Skimming through the comments I see a few talking about mistakes. I've never seen a flawless artist. This was done with a PEN, which means you're pretty much committed to what you've just put on paper. If it's not as perfect as you would like, you just have to go with it. There's no erasing. Personally I wish I could draw a fourth of what this guy has done.

  • FAKE!The cat helped him :P

  • how the hell? thats insane to be done with a pen.

"errors" or no, thats amazing work.

  • that's a real talent

  • that's a real talent

  • This is phenominal! I disagree that he MUST have done a light presketch. I think he could just be extremely observant and talented. I would be flattered if someone thought my work was so good that I couldn't have possibly done it without any sort of tracing, etc. Again, great job!

  • Oh my god, perfect work !!!
