  • love it!

  • where do you get all of your hardware? like lugs and hoops

  • @sweetdrums295 i got them from a dru building website called drum foundry

  • Hi!

    great work!

I was just wondering what was your need or problem that you were aiming to solve?

  • how many hours roughly did it take to make each one? thanks

  • @mitchmitchells 40 week project at about 3 1/2 hours a week. So about 140 hours for all 4 but I put in a lot of overtime. The first drum you see (the 14 x 4.5 segment) took a lot longer than the rest...i'd say about 2/5 of the whole time.

  • @EkayDrums mmmm alot of work! might give one a go myself. great job btw!

  • my gosh that overtone is AWEFUL....

  • do you sell drums? Or have tips on making your own drums?

  • @Drillogicaldrummer na i dont sell them yet, but hopefully one day i can get into it. As far as tips are concerned there isnt much i can say without going into detail, you're best looking up home made drums on google etc. But the only thing i can really advise is to make sure you dont take shortcuts and take your time on it. Trust me it will work out for the better. If you do want some more information i've got a 100 page portfolio on my project so let me know

  • @EkayDrums wow, ya, that would be awesome. What do you do for a living?

  • @Drillogicaldrummer Just finished school last year, this was in fact my major project for the subject Design and Technology. Currently just working casually and i'm in a band (Stone Monks, some of our videos are on my page). If you drop us your email i'll try see if i can find my portfolio and send it to you

  • @EkayDrums my email is: pink_pony_dreams@yahoo.com

  • really good craftmanship there, but i suggest you learn how to tune them, because they sound a bit looowwwww

  • @feddo62 naturally making them they ended up being a lot more difficult to tune than the $6000 reference in my room haha, but i did manage. I can guarentee they are tuned up beautifully now, hopefully soon i'll get another vid up of them

  • would you be willing to tell us what the measurements of each piece was and the angle for the segmented snare? If not i understand but i would really like to get rid of my steel snare and make my own. Thank you in advance.

  • @brandonb3933 this obviously depends on the size...it isnt difficult to figure out. I dont remember the size each piece, but the angle I cut was 15 degrees for a dodecohedral shape (12 sides)

  • When you say segmented could you explain how exactly you made them, I assume just glueing didn't segments together but I've never seen a snare made in this way so it's very interesting.

  • @hazzpwnage The segment drums were more difficult and time consuming than the stave, Basically each individual piece was cut to the same size (to the mm, precision is necessary) and the same angle. Then after gluing them and layering them, I routered it using a jig I made up. After that I routered it using a flush cutter on the next layers. Let me know if you want to know anything else ;)

  • those have a really great sound to them. good job man!

  • Nice

  • Very
