Iron Maiden play with 3 guitarists. Most of his backing tracks are aimed at just lead, so it has to have guitars in there unless you're playing 3 at once :P

When The Trooper was recorded there was only 2 guitarist, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith. It wasnt untill Brave New World came out that Maiden has had 3 guitarist on their albums, the 3rd being Janick gers. Their past 3 albums have had 3 guitarist, every other album has only had 2.
