  • im confudsed on what to get i have comcast but i want the fastest do i need to buy a 1.1 or 2.0 or 3.0

  • powerbost sucks, I hate comcast faking their speeds, this onely improves your speed for a very short time. Docsis 3.0 is the way to go you will get real speed.

  • I get this speed with Docsis 2.0

  • We have the 50 pipe. Usually when test is ran I get like 55-62 down and about 9-10 up

  • doin better than that on my 5101...with a 1.1 config

  • @theov3rmind All of Comcast's configs are 1.1, and this was before Comcast upgraded the config files to allow better powerboost.

  • @BlueRollinCoal

powerboost? lol... im running a 6120 config on my 5101 actually =)

  • @theov3rmind So your stealing bandwidth...

Of course your going to have a faster modem if its hacked, but this is a legit modem that has not been modified.

  • my download speed test 1.05Mbs/s

    upload speed 2.45Mb/s

  • whenever i test mine it goes up to 5000 MBPS, i dont have comcast

  • Docsis 2.0 has a max dl rate of 38 megabits and a max ul rate of 27 megabits it depends on the area and the provisioned speed

  • Is 32Mbps the most DOCSIS 2.0 can do?

I'm on DOCSIS 1.1 and I get about 32 to the closest speedtest server.

  • @gir489 Yes, the difference between 1.1 and 2.0 is the upload speed. The downstream is not changed between 1.1 and 2.0. If your cable provider decides to upgrade to 2.0, then you could see more upload speed if they decide to increase your speeds.

  • @BlueRollinCoal I have DOCSIS 2.0 I believe, but my upload sucks (2mb) and my download is only 20mbps, How can I get 30?

  • y is ur comcast so much faster then mine -.-

  • @gottalovetonic Its because I subscribe to a faster speed than most people, because I need more speed.

  • DAMN that shit is beast how much do u pay 4 that? =P

  • They should bring comcast to the Philippines. I have 1mb download and 384kbps upload. It sucks for us. We pay for the price of a 15mbit connection but we only get 1mbps.

  • should bring comcast to the UK i would love to have that upload speed.

  • @PodcastForGamers You should go check out my DOCSIS 3.0 video, over 100mbps download.

  • this is not spam for people who wanna see faster then 100mbps internet connection copy and paste this or click my profile I REPEAT THIS IS NOT SPAM THIS IS TO SPREAD WHAT faster then 100mbps connection looks like! /watch?v=Uyu-F3iNQzo im not trying to spam ya blue.. i just wanna show you my virtual pc is a little faster on the Speed ! lol

  • This is great, but it seems to have issues getting over 200mbps in some places, lol. I'm surprised you didn't make this video a responce on my D3 video because thats where the speed is, this was before D3 was deployed in CO.

  • @BlueRollinCoal that me me shit my pant

  • Just wondering what package you have with comcast?

  • Your virtual PC yeah? lol

  • Guy's, research "Power Boost" That's the reason you're getting 30+ Mbps. It gives you extra speed for the first few seconds of a download. Power Boost is also enabled for the upload.

  • So, Power Boost only works for the first few seconds? Then what? So, if you're downloading huge files then Power Boost is useless? Does it slow back down again after the first few seconds? I just signed up with Comcast and that's why all the questions. Thank You.

  • Yes, it goes away after a few seconds, then your speed should drop down to whatever tier you signed up for.

  • Sorry, Mistake. I meant 35.57 Down / 8.54 up..

  • Comcast Cable Baltimore MD 35.57 UP / 8.54 up...

Crazy spd, im only suppose to be getting 8-16..

  • What config file are you using? Great upload. I get 30-32Mbps down and 5Mbps up.

  • The upload is fast but is it not supposed to be faster on docsis 2.0 connections?

  • Anyone what is DOCSIS 3.0, does it make it faster?

And can some one give me a turtorial or site!/

  • meh... i've goten 47.3

  • thats impossible in a DOCSIS 2.0 network. The max speed per 6MHz DOCSIS 2.0 downstream channel is 38megabits/sec, so either the speed test is wrong, your running in a DOCSIS 3.0 system with a new DOCSIS 3.0 modem (in which case 47mbps is slow) or you have two modems bonded together, in which case 47mbps is still slow. Also, check out my DOCSIS 3.0 video where I top 120mbps, and it legit ;)

  • Actually that's not impossible at all. The maximum bandwidth per 6 MHz channel is roughly 48Mbps, not 38Mbps. While DOCSIS 3.0 enables channel bonding, which is why you are able to see speeds over 100Mbps. Keep in mind, if you subscribe to Comcast you are also seeing the PowerBoost come into play when downloading files over 10MB giving you an extra burst of up to 12Mbps.

  • @y0urlastdemise You might want to reconsider where you get your info from as that is not correct.

Wikipedia - "All three versions of the DOCSIS standard support a downstream throughput of up to 42.88 Mbit/s per channel with 256-QAM" (Then you remove the overhead and end up with 38Mb/sec of usable speed). This has been confirmed too many times to count, do some research.

EuroDOCSIS has an 8 MHz channel width and allows for speeds upto 50Mb/sec, but that is irrelevant.

  • @BlueRollinCoal

I'm sorry, but "Wikipedia" is not a valid resource of information. I LITERALLY just came from class with this information.

  • @y0urlastdemise While I do agree that Wikipedia is not normally a source of info, the information on Wikipedia is confirmed by a quick trip to the CableLabs website. The class you are in is teaching the wrong info, at least for the DOCSIS standard in the US. Go do some research on the net, prove me wrong (with several links to known websites in the industry). If you can prove it I will tell Wikipedia, CableLabs, Cable Techs, MSO's and all the Modem/CMTS manufactures they are doing it wrong...

  • In this video I was using a Motorola SB5100, I have since upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0 and a new modem, the Motorola SB6120.

  • WOW

  • Yea, the DOCSIS 3.0 video is even better... ;)

  • God I hate mexico it has the slowest and most expensive internet

For 100kbs we pay around 50 dollars a month :S Freaking scam.

  • Then yea, you better not check out my DOCSIS 3.0 video... it will just make you hate mexico even more. I think the prices are so high because data connections aren't cheap there, or your ISP is just greedy...

  • They are just greedy.

  • I guess you all will hate japan more for 100Mbps they pay 11 bucks per Month

  • ur upload = double my DOWNload

  • lol mine too

  • Speed test are screwy on Comcast since thats the speed you get while Powerboost is in effect, sustained speeds are going to be less

  • Correct, my sustained speeds are 24mbps down and 5.5mbps up.
