  • The reporter was alluding to the incident that prompted my involvement and got the trial ball rolling. I spotted a piece in the Bristol Evening Post (courtesy of Google Alerts) about traffic signal failure and (surprise surprise) no congestion around March 2009. I made contact next day with the Councillor mentioned, David Pasley. He organised a meeting. My video, The case for a no-lights trial, was shown to the Chamber. 26 out of 27 councillors agreed to take action.

  • The Portishead scheme shown in this video was excellent. Note though.. the traffic lights DID NOT break down as described by the reporter. The residents campaigned for their removal. Before the lights, everything was fine. With the lights .. total grid lock! So when the lights were switched off, the empathy of fellow drivers kicked in..after you gestures ... hand wave thanking ... it worked fabulously. 15 minutes down to 1 minute or less each morning! Seemples! Compare the Traffic! It just works

  • Well done MJ , hope the campaign gathers pace and more people "see the light" (LOL)

    (sorry couldn't resist the pun).
